  1. I fear it will be a case of Buy one Get one free I hope we learned lessons last season with wasted wages and a small squad.
  2. Sorry, even having read my original post a few times I still didn't notice my mistake.
  3. Surly as a local lad, if we can make him a reasonable offer he would rather play for us than be a squad player for Patrick Thistle !
  4. Stevie Aitken, on 03 May 2012 - 20:05, said: Good to see a club take a gamble on a young manager from time to time, and Allan Johnston comes accross as a guy who knows the game well. Intelligence on the pitch tends to transfer well off it, see Derek McInnes, Owen Coyle, Paul Hartley, Paul Sheerin as recent example - all classy players who have adapted pretty comfortably to management. Any ideas on who the experienced assistant might be? You would think it will more than likely be a guy who Johnston has worked under at some point. 5. Hope a few of the youngsters get a chance on Saturday.
  6. To add to this we will need a LOT more fight next season, playing in the second division where there'll be a lot less football played. (not that we've played much this season)
  7. Today was like the rest of the season, we were let down by the "seniors" of the club with a lot of them showing no stomach for a fight today. If you're not in control of the middle of the park, you're not in control of the game. This has been the case all season and there's only two people to blame for this!
  8. Wonder how many would turn out now to roll out the covers if the call went out?
  9. Kevin McCann who had a solid game against Danny yesterday and David Weatherston are just two of a large number of players who were in pre-season looking for a contract. They like a lot of others were not deemed good enough by our tactical technical genius Gus. He decided that we needed players of the calibre of Brighton, Clark, Simmons and McLaughlan, and let's not forget Campbell who was a real pillar of strength before he was unceremoniously subbed after gifting 2 goals in the first 20mins against Hamilton. If these are the type of decisions Gus is making on players, then we won't be in the second division for long, we'll be straight down to the third. That is assuming and I hope it's not the case, that we go down and he gets another contract next season. Everyone was panicking that the consortium would be the ruination of the club. Hey take a look at what has happened since Gus came in. The sooner the BOD wake up and smell the roses and do the necessary, the better.
  10. Think both Gavin Reilly and Kevin Holt were part of that winning team.
  11. Just a genuine question, looking for a debate. Smith was the one man striker/target man in a lot of games.
  12. Do you think these two will be a good partnership or are they to alike? At the moment we are playing with a target man and a movement player.
  13. Talking of programs. On the back of this year’s should the full squad not be listed? The team is picked each week from the squad and all the players have been sponsored by various businesses, groups or individuals who have paid good money and therefore I’m sure would be pleased to see their players listed. It’s not as if we have a massive squad that wouldn’t all fit onto the back page!
  14. A few more performances like last night’s and we’ll be sitting comfortably safe mid table, looking down on you!
  15. Campbell stands at 6ft 2ins and has a large physical presence need I say more!
  16. Is Potter eligible to play on Saturday in the cup?
  17. Well it worked for us JR and I was nearly right with the scorers. More of the same for the remainder of the season.
  18. We need to get at them right from the start and put them on their back foot. Just like we did in the first game. They appear to be struggling at the back for players. If we let them take control, it will be a hard struggle, especially with no McKenna to boss the midfield. This is easily a game we can win and I think we will. Parkin and Reilly to score
