  1. Considering who are below you now I would say you are pretty much safe now guy's. You can relax and enjoy the season now... Well done City"
  2. I think it's testament to Danny Lennon's ability that he can actually organise this squad of players into any sort of unit. January can't come quick enough, although as we know the issue might be getting shot of the dross rather than bringing anyone in, who would want them? Still, another point that Chapman would never have managed to get on the board.
  3. Just wondering if McInnes decides he wants to do the rat like thing and jump ship to Sevco; would Aberdeen, if they "force" his resignation and consequently not get any money. Would it not be better just to let him speak to them and at least claim compo. (If they can afford it of course, embarrassing publically if they cant) A. Aberdeen would get a few quid B. Sevco would need to pay what the no doubt cant afford and therefore weaken your main rivals further, at least financially. .
  4. As I have said on numerous occasions when this happens that is me done, gone, finished, enough!
  5. Don't consern yourself with either, remember we (Clyde) are in your league!
  6. Ha that old one; I think that means 100 grand, disappointed thought we would get much more than that!
  7. Decent player; interesting to see how he does in a settled team; played all over the place for us. Could count on one hand the number of times he played as a full back for more than 2 games in a row. Wonder what you actually paid for him other than the "nominal fee" that is usually quoted. Suppose if Clyde recoup what we paid in wages last year would be fair enough.
  8. From Clubs Insight page : "A response with regards to the SPFL’s proposal for the introduction of Colt Teams in Season 2018-19 has been completed, expressing our lack of support, and sent to the League 1/2 Divisional Representative". Glad to see that at least some good news coming from our board.
  9. As with many more on here; if / when this is introduced that will be me done. No interest in this, totally disrespectful to lower league clubs and supporters.
  10. There is a "contact us" on the SPFL web page. I will certainly be using to email my thoughts on this nonsensical idea.
  11. Utter utter nonsense absolutely no way I will attend any match involving a Rangers or Celtic youth team against my club in League or cup match! How do we individually and collectively tell these people that we will not support or allow this! I really do think football in this country is dead. Knew all along at the Challenge cup garbage was the signal that this was coming. I trust my club will protest this as they apparently did previously.
  12. Whoever comes in will obviously have a huge rebuilding job and of course on a budget. Priority will have to be a reliable goalkeeper; Gourley on lone again would be great. I could not suffer another year of Gibson. Experienced Central defence, again I could not suffer the absolute horror show of this season where every single set piece or corner was a watch with hands over my eyes. Keep: If possible Easton & Goodwillie 100% Linton, Peaso, Lowden, McNeil, Squad players: Gormley, McNiff, JP player coach? Would Flynn be better in a midfield with a structure and game plan?? Maybe but not to fussed. Other than that get rid!
  13. Well, relief is all I can describe today; time to get this sorted and ensure we are never in this position again or at least anytime soon. Credit to Peaso and JP for doing what they were asked to do, I'm sure they will not be managing next season but happy to see them back as player coach under a proven experienced manager with a contract bases on success that does not make him in a position where he limps on while we visibly die in front of our eyes. Over to the board now and of course the new Chairman to make this season a distant memory and perhaps a lesson in what can happen if apathy sets in. My message to the Board: NEVER AGAIN TREAT OUR CLUB AS AN EGO TRIP!
  14. As far as I'm concerned only players worth a contract are Goodwillie, McNeil, Easton & Lowden. Nice to get the Keeper and Lochead on a season long loan. Would also be ok with Peaso again as a player. Flynn is a difficult one; certainly been big disappointment whether that is because we don't know how to utilise him properly or not I'm not sure but we have not seen anything from him to suggest he worth keeping, McMillan also been huge disappointment for me. Of the rest I suppose Quinn, Smith, McNiff, Gormley as squad players bit like to think there are better out there. The rest have been failures, sorry but performances over the a season does not lie. There is a list of absolutely no way players; Gibson, Perry,Higgins, Finney, Fergie (Sorry), Johnston and McKenzie, All this academic of course if the unthinkable but very very possible happens and we are a non senior club next year!
  15. Well done City; achieved what your hard work deserved. Enjoy your night lads! Enjoy last two games no pressure.
  16. Delighted with either Lennon or Stark; if had to choose I would go for Billy Stark. As ever though, the issue will be League survival before anyone of any decent reputation would be interested.
  17. Obviously all depends on League status, but looking on the bright side and we remain then keep: Easton, Lowden, Peaso, McNeil, McNiff, Gormley, Goodwillie (if interested in staying) perhaps Flynn and Junior. The fact Easton has not played may the reason we will hang on to him. Unfortunatly, rest simply not good enough.. Sorry, Scott Ferguson whether it's injuries or not has just not been at the races since he initially broke into the team in his first season.
  18. They were at it most of the second half; wanted free kicks every time the Wee no 11 (cracking player BTW) threw himself to the ground. It's really irritating, either act professionally or if they are so committed as supporters, which is no bad thing, then sit with their fans and shout all they like.
  19. The Directors behind us were not much better, total embarrassment and unprofessional. Some of their shouts were unreal, obviously disappointed with the way things turned out but they should have a bit more class.
  20. Just read the article, have to say its probably 100% true that he was highly professional, did all the right things, worked incredibly hard, treated players like full time pros and attracted decent names; Linton, Easton etc, etc, etc (along with absolute garbage too, like most managers). However the bottom line is that unfortunately, the important part of his job was to set up his team on match day / evening, change tactics throughout a match or when needed and to get players to perform at the top of there ability nearly every week. He can't do that ie cant do what he is ultimately paid to do! Shame I would have loved him to be able to so, really would, but no he cannot...that is the problem with Barry Ferguson he is not able to manage a football team to get required results.
  21. I have to see last nights draw as a positive result for Clyde, a home win would have added huge pressure and given Cowdenbeath massive momentum. Also not convinced Berwick are out of this, often in these scenarios there is a surprise, who knows? As it has always been the fight to stay in the league is still in our own hands and yes we are doing our best to cut our own throat, but with mainly home games left if we don't do enough to; at worst, match Cowdenbeath's results then we are down and deservedly so! Up to players now really at this stage, positive mind set required.
  22. I thought I would have felt more depressed than I actually do; suppose it's due to the inevitability of it all. The present situation was alway going to happen as there was no way we were getting a win today, the other two behind us at the start of the day we're going to get their win at some point. Forfar; having seen them last week, are a team feeling the pressure so not surprised they lost today? Our only hope of not finishing bottom is that the players can manage not to panic and can turn in a couple of performances particularly at home. Ironically given the horrible run it will probably only take 1-2 wins to be safe, unfortunately there is zero evidence that's going to happen. Not there today but only thing I can take is that our joke of a defence only conceded one, which is a step in right direction, JP and Peaso will now have to keep calm and believe it's still in our own hands. Not convinced personally but it's not up to me it's up to the players now and hopefully they have enough pride left to avoid being the players who allowed Clyde FC to fall out of the Senior level of Scottish football.
  23. JP and Peaso interim management team....We don't have much choice just now, very best of luck guys. Fingers and toes crossed they make an impact!!
  24. Kirkhouse Shettleston? I'll shout my abuse across the road from the Railway Tavern then save me going to the game
