  1. As said previously no, but as far as in concerned my main gripe with the LL is the fact the B teams are there. When / if we go down and it will be deserved I will still buy my season ticket, however as with the Challenge cup I refuse to attend any match where Clyde are playing a B team! I will therefore miss a fair few games but that’s a decision I made the minute the LL sold out to them… shame on them!
  2. I think Glenconnor was “looked at” but that was months ago, I’d imagine if anything was coming from there we would have heard by now. Certainly one of the Associate Directors updates pretty regularly on official forum and looks like he answers questions quite freely. He has not mentioned Glenconnor for some time, only that they have a few sites in mind still. Suppose they can’t go public on those?
  3. No sympathy for him.. he’s let a whole load of people down no more than he deserves.. eejit!
  4. I’d say he’s been hugely disappointing, again like others say he has been played at LB where he clearly struggles, so I think his apparent lack of appetite during games may be that he simply doesn’t enjoy playing there. That said he often doesn’t look interested and has severe issues with concentration which results in him needlessly giving the ball away or simple puts it out the park. He has ability no doubt and physically, hence the disappointment, playing in midfield with a experienced vocal player beside would make a huge difference. He needs a rocket up his backside if you ask me. Unfortunately we don’t have a greeting face git in the whole squad when once we had Goodwillie, Love and Rankin etc.
  5. Today’s off the ball is utter garbage, inane nonsense and no football chat in sight. Has to be worse I’ve head, turned off now. Rubbish!
  6. Funny how we all see things differently, I think Dunnachie at RB and Sula at CH together is an absolute nightmare scenario. Coupled with the form Cudihay is showing just now, it’s certainly not the line up I’d choose. That said, the deckchairs have been shuffled around relentlessly so who knows what we will see on Saturday. Wasn't at the away game against Stranraer, but led to believe we were bullied in that game and to an extent the same happened last time they came to NDP, so we really need to handle that and try to maintain a high tempo as much as possible. Huge game as me goes without saying we have we have to take any chances we are presented with.. defending set pieces as ever is the worry.
  7. My guess on the Scullion thing and going by the timescale that took place when Brendan Rodgers acted like a wee wean and moaned about the referee it was two weeks before he got a date to attend a meeting. So.. I’d imagine Scullion will be up in couple of weeks or so, I’d also imagine that he might them miss last 2-3 games of the season…. Eejit!
  8. At half time I’d have probably taken a point if offered but by end is second half it’s definitely an opportunity missed. Their midfield 3 look really good players although second half they were nowhere near as effective thankfully. Did McCall get starting 11 wrong? Possibly, as we improved drastically in second half. McGinn was terrific when he came on again, looks like an right good prospect. Unfortunately we still lack in key areas particularly in middle of the park. King is so frustrating, lazy player. I don’t mean lazy as doesn’t try, more like he just switches off for long periods and lack concentration and so simple possession is given away needlessly all to often Don’t mind Ballantyne, works hard but not most creative. Rennie again offered no presence, whether he struggles in that position off the front I don’t know but again does my head in. Leitch has been huge disappointment seems to want far too much time on the ball. In Saying all that I’m probably just venting my disappointment that we didn’t score today and as I say missed opportunity, which I suppose means we have came a long way since Christmas as there is no way we would be in this position of only 2 points behind with the team we had in December.
  9. Deck chairs moved about again.. Lyons and Sula starting, well that’s at least 2 goals shipped, hope we can get 3. Long afternoon I’m afraid.
  10. I know it’s a bit of a narrative about him but seriously, has he actually played more than 4 games in a row in last 4 years?
  11. Need to hope Howie is fit, Sula it complete bombscare
  12. Well I don’t think I’ve been so nervous at a game in last 5-10 mins for a long long time. Massive result not just in context of the “great escape “ but I actually thought Elgin were a very decent side. After about 30 mins I actually said to one of my boys that a result today would be huge in terms of the fact we’d do well to beat them. As said before second half changes won that today. Leitch may be a little frustrating at times but in general he brings quality to the midfield we don’t normally have. For all Scullion’s determination etc he can’t do what Leitch can. Similarly Kabia might not be a defender in any shape but he also offers something different and what’s more important, a delivery, no one else does! Again, Allan does the business today and we are totally different prospect with him in the team. Finally, another huge game from Hamilton, absolutely wonderful player we are so lucky to have. Has everything we have missed at the back for so long. Next weeks mission for Mr McCall and staff at training, please somehow how sort out our fecking defending at corner kicks! Do that and we very well actually do this
  13. Agreed, however Sula came on last night and was even worse! Sad state of affairs indeed. We had zero pressure up front last night. Young did absolutely nothing when he was on and Rennie was just Rennie one average performance in 10. The result was that the midfield (which was also poor) had nothing to hit and if they did hit one of the “forwards” the ball came straight back and Forfar player was on them in a flash. I think a lot of the issues last night came from not have a single presence up front as a result the game just kept coming back on top of us in the middle of the park and we are just not good enough do do anything with the ball. Ray Grant was awful last night although not the worst. Thank God we have Hamilton or it would have been even more embarrassing than it turned. Has to be said McCall till now has just not worked, well bankrolled personally and supported off the park which is even more worrying!
  14. If Howie is out I’d stick with Grant at the back actually, I thought he did ok when he came on, especially with the Rolls Royce Hamilton next to him. Please not Sula, total bombscare. Leitch of course has to start and what ever we do it has to be two up top, end of the day we have to go for this, last chance saloon to get closer and actually put pressure on.
  15. Much more organised performance with generally most in proper positions. keeper not much to do but looks comfortable and competent. Hamilton as ever just a class act, nice to get a clean sheet and encouraging performance. Grant and Ballantyne very comfy in the middle of the park. Two things for now… why bring Cameron on? And If Robbie Leitch doesn’t start on Tuesday then McCall has truly lost the plot!
  16. There is absolutely no doubt that a 35 year old David Goodwillie would score goals in this league, he is much better player than Jordan Allan let alone Rennie, Young or in fact probably still any other striker in this league! However, bringing him back would just be madness, not withstanding the awful publicity and negativity particularly given the situation we are already in. We could forget most, if not all the sponsorship let alone the relocation agenda. Whether that is with GGC or another location, we require buy in from local communities and foundation work to enable grant funding etc which is vital in any possible statism build. Unfortunately signing David Goodwillie would end all that, quite simple. Note… I’m saying this as a supporter who loved watching him in his time with us… best player I’ve seen in a Clyde Jersey. Watching his 100 Clyde goals collection on you tube is both delightful and sad at the same time:
  17. I completely understand and agree with the anger and frustration with the board but don’t be deflected from the fact today certainly, Elgin game and several others are squarely on McCall and players shoulders. Ridiculous team selection today, stupid substitutions last week and players being weak and naive. He is being well paid as I’m sure the players now, been given 2 coaches to assist etc. We deserve better! Action on the board should come at some point but Team and Management have to face up and justify the money and faith put in them
  18. I can just about, maybe, understand the keeper decision as the new boy is just in the door and not sure how many minutes he’s played this year. The other changes I really don’t get other than perhaps the pitch being heavy and McCall wants some physically? Although nothing will convince me of Lyon being anywhere near the starting 11! Who knows? Nowhere for McCall to hide now, been backed both personally and by squad in’s and out, it’s his team now so fingers crossed.
  19. That is all true, the reality though is that the “relocation” is also about a base where we can generate income on a daily basis by for example renting the park / parks (if additional parks is in the plan?), office space?, foundation activities, kids coaching sessions Etc. It also would mean we are not shelling out thousands is pounds in rental before a ball is even kicked every season. Nowadays I don’t think any club, even the biggot twins can depend on gate receipts alone to progress. Obviously in our case a successful team may increase crowds by a percentage point but never enough alone to survive long term on that alone.
  20. Parry doesn’t make the glaring mistakes that Leighfield has made especially lately but his issue is that he now gets beaten from shots into a corner especially from distance. Unfortunately just a sign his age and fitness he is unable to move his feet or anticipate the way he used to. Also will never now be effective coming off his line to clear a through ball, which is important nowadays.
  21. My God a loan player that’s over 18 years of age!
  22. Nothing other than the brief update David H put up last week on the Owners section.
  23. Even Before the penalty I actually said to my 2 boys that Scullion looked fairly decent when he was surrounded by the utter dross of pre McCall, now there are better players in it shows him up as being sadly lacking. If we do manage to get another midfield player in be it a loan or an unattached player then Scullion is first to drop to the bench I’m my opinion.
