  1. Irwin was outstanding and could easily be put at right back even he though he predominately played on the left. I was at an event a while back where SAF was speaking and he said that he was the one certainty to get in his best Man United team.
  2. Dumbarton barely did that in the second half either. Our big effort on goal hit the post, their one went in. Disappointing not to capitalise on last week but a farcical game all in. Doesn't feel like I've watched a game to be honest.
  3. Dumbarton have twice let us score in both halves of a league game, which has only happened three times in total (the other being the 6-1 Stenny massacre). Dumbarton are also the only side to give us a penalty in the league (also twice).
  4. This is going pretty much how every Fiorentina game seems to go. Lovely football but simply can't score.
  5. He did, but not playing for us. He was given a straight red for Falkirk for kicking a goalie in the face in the playoffs. His red card for Clyde was for two yellows (the first of which should have been a stick on red).
  6. I said before the game that I thought we needed Cuddihy and Grant as a base in midfield and I thought they showed why yesterday. For a smaller guy, Cuddihy wins more than his fair share of headers and Grant was first to absolutely everything for most of the game, retaining possession in the process. I thought Scullion was excellent and for all Kinnear's faults, we have a goalkeeper now who can justifiably pick out saves that have led to points. I thought the referee was fine. Stranraer were wasting time, but so were we a bit in the first half. He added 6 minutes stoppage time. I didn't think Allan was kicked in the head (it was a silly challenge regardless) and I thought Grant's booking was fair. Not convinced on the second Stranraer yellow. You would back us to do better over a four game run than Stranraer but next week we run into a Dumbarton team hitting some form. Could Forfar maybe drop back into it? Allan has been worth every penny. He genuinely could have scored a brace in every game he has played.
  7. Peterhead's effort to ruin my life can only be admired.
  8. A bit unfair making these two rabbles play in a bit of wind. Nothing has happened.
  9. I know there's probably financial reasons behind it but Man City binning Palmer for that dud Doku looks an abysmal decision.
  10. I think this thread sums up why we have continued to struggle in games. An unbalanced squad, not an obvious best eleven and serious issues with height and aggression. I actually thought the first half last week showed exactly why McGinn hasn't been starting. Plenty of attacking thrust but poor final delivery and defensive positioning. I'd not be adverse to him maybe playing on the left of midfield as his pace is a real threat. Cuddihy and Grant in midfield as a base to build on. If we can fit in Ballantyne as well then so be it, but he doesn't win enough second balls for a game like this. I'd probably play Howie at right back and keep Sula in for height.
  11. Meh, I thought he was unlucky given the referee didn't book a Peterhead player for literally the same challenge (on Kabia) a minute before. Not a great afternoon for Clyde, with the GD taking a hit. Only really Ray Grant comes out of that with any credit.
  12. Two gift penalties, a missed sitter and almost an entire team of dud performances. I did think we would be in for a tough one when I saw the Peterhead lineup, but it's been far too easy.
  13. We apparently have a new goalkeeper on the bench, presumably Parry has picked up an injury. Previous club appears, of course, to be Gretna. 50 goals conceded in 15 games. Interesting team selection. Cuddihy or Howie at right back?
  14. McGinn or Kabia for me. Definitely not both, our left side would be wide open. We also absolutely need Howie, Sula, Rennie in the team to give us any chance of defending a set piece.
  15. Fair score after a better second half. The point negates Bonnyrigg's goal difference. A shame we have Peterhead next, that always goes well. At least with Bonnyrigg going to Stranraer we will still be in touch with someone regardless. Sula my MotM.
  16. Sula, Kinnear and possibly Hamilton at a push have done well. The rest have been dreadful. Both the bookings were abysmal decisions, the Spartans player only booked because he had booked Cuddihy.
  17. Strangely, the side that most would pick as their most iconic under Klopp was only ever picked once, in the CL final against Spurs: Alisson Alexander-Arnold Matip Van Dijk Robertson Henderson Fabinho Wijnaldum Salah Firmino Mane
  18. Meanwhile, in Turkey, they have learned from Scullion's mistake;
  19. The pitch is what it is, I actually don't mind away games having a bit of variety. It's a totally different challenge. For me, the toilets being a pair of portaloos is really not acceptable after nearly 2 years in the SPFL. My kid goes to nearly every home game and has been to a few away; I'd not be taking him anywhere near Bonnyrigg. Hopefully they stay up (not at our expense obviously) as they've managed to do it without any OTT financial backing and are a big enough club to establish themselves at this level.
  20. Whilst a clanger, is it possibly then a handball from Allan? Hard to tell on my phone. Not complaining after the couple of jammy goals Forfar got last week.
  21. Just seen the clip of Scullion taking on the Bonnyrigg fans. I suspect one of their supporters won't be allowed back to the football for quite a while, and that we might be without a player for a few games. Two manky characters having a spit at each other. It's completely idiotic getting involved in something like that. Hopefully McCall absolutely hammers him.
  22. The players scrapped away brilliantly there, a proper team effort. Fair play after the just criticism in previous "must win" games. Hard to pick out anyone above the others given the nature of the game but a big shout out to the goalkeeper for an excellent save at 1-1, and the manager for picking the right team and making the right subs to see it out.
  23. We didn't even let the game go long enough to get into a scrap. We are the only team in the World who immediately give up a set piece goal having presumably spent the week preparing for it. We've actually done okay given the pitch doesn't allow a game of football to break out but you simply can't start a goal down. The performance from the officials has been absolutely wild.
