  1. Radioactive fire would probably mutate the fekkers to being 10 times the size and being able to drive tanks.
  2. Hardly surprising that some Tories feel at home on the Labour benches though, is it?
  3. Might be a slightly edgy issue to raise, but I was listening to the 11.00 to 12.00 LBC debate about members of the Garrick Club agreeing to allow women to become members. Are there any other "male only" or "female only" organisations that might be due for a re-examination of their membership policies? Also, risking raising an even thornier issue, how would such organisations deal with transgender issues? I leave it to the members of P&B to deal with this issue in the usual calm, respectful manner.
  4. Never mind this "Izzi or Izzi no a presenter" pish, how about "what percentage of presenters, contributors and viewers are dodgy?" Like many/most folk I've never watched it so it would be good to hear the views of experienced viewers to save us the from the tortuous process of tuning in.
  5. Dude has never seen a sheep on a country road... https://www.thenational.scot/news/24302217.nc500-police-issue-speeding-warning-porsche-caught-speeding-142/ "POLICE have issued a speeding warning to those travelling on the NC500 after a man was charged with dangerous driving. A 43-year-old man driving a Porsche 911 was caught driving at a speed of 142mph on the A832 at Achanalt." "Throw away the key" time.
  6. Sturgeon yes, Yousaf needed more time I think, but the government did get bogged down in issues that I wasn't particularly bothered about. I'll be interested to see Swinney's new cabinet and if there's any significant changes in approach. I reckon he'll be more than a match for Sarwar and Ross at FMQs.
  7. Makes you wonder how something like that kicks off.... Imagine a fictitious account of such an incident. "Yes, m'lud, my client was innocently driving down the road with an active chainsaw, minding his own business, when a stationary police car leapt out in front of him. Fearing for his life, he struck the police vehicle and pursued the officers whereupon a dozen officers leapt upon him and unjustly detained him. Not only does my client demand to be released immediately, he also intends to claim significant compensation."
  8. I'm not a member of the SNP, but I'm a supporter of Scottish independence and have voted SNP for years. I'm quite happy with Swinney too.
  9. I heard some of that first interview. Wants education about normal relationships apparently. He's obviously an expert on relationships, as (according to Wikipedia) he's had 4 marriages and six children by 3 different mothers. What could be more normal than that? Fine example for us all to follow.
  10. Do you mean in Westminster or Holyrood? Or both? If both, I'm not so sure about that. Given the tricky situation Starmer will be in with the "British" media, I can't see a Scottish Government led by "Scottish" Labour being allowed to be more progressive here than Labour would be in England. If he becomes First Minister, Sarwar will be told what he's allowed to do. He mustn't rock the UK Labour boat. He won't be in a position to make Labour in Westminster look bad anyway as (AIUI) Starmer has said he'll stick to Tory tax and spend plans for the early years of the next Westminster Parliament. Wouldn't surprise me if Sarwar is told to "reform" (ahem) the Scottish NHS, concessionary travel, prescriptions etc. Starmer will be under pressure about every pound spent in Scotland. Still, long way to go before the next general election... plenty of time for Labour to fek it up. The Mail, Express and Telegraph haven't really started yet.
  11. With me looking for a 3 goal win for Rangers at Parkhead, helicopters would be competing for airspace with flying pigs between now and the end of the season!
  12. We'll need to play much better than that next week. A 3-0 away win puts us top. So, piece of p!ss then...
  13. Quite right. I mean, what's the point of VAR if it allows teams to score against Rangers at Ibrox? Ridiculous waste of time and money. Tav's OG should obviously have been ruled out because, well, it just should. Can't have that sort of nonsense in football.
  14. That's us used our "get out of jail free" card. Need to be much more creative in the second half. This really is a pretty poor performance considering we are at home and playing against 10 men.
  15. As far as I can recall, I have never met anyone else who has never watched an episode of The Office, (US or UK), Gavin and Stacey or Friends. Any P&Bers able to join me?
  16. I find that the best way to scare the living keech out of folk from Edinburgh is to say "hello" as you walk past them, without ever having been formally introduced.
  17. Tory Mark Harper on the Kuenssberg show recreating the persona of the Captain of the Titanic, if the Captain of the Titanic had said " yes, I see the iceberg directly ahead of us, but we haven't hit it yet, so we'll just keep going..." Braverman has attacked Sunak, saying that she regrets backing him.
  18. No, I didn't mean that at all. If RUK took votes from the Tories, I reckon that neither of them would get enough votes to get seats on the list. More likely that SNP, Labour, Libdem or Greens would get them.
  19. If there is a prospect of "Reform UK" standing in Holyrood elections and splitting a chunk of votes off the Tories, meaning they end up with fewer list seats, it might be worth them giving it a go.
  20. The future is looking "interesting" with regard to the next leader of the Tories. I confess that I am wondering who any post-election Tory MPs from Scottish constituencies would support, given that the top 5 potential leaders on Bet365 are... Badenoch, Mordaunt, Braverman, Patel and Cleverly. I'd have thought that out of that lot, Mordaunt would be a shoe-in, but she's in second place behind Badenoch. A United Kingdom right enough. Can't see any of them bringing to an end virtually 70 years of Scotland telling the Tories to eff off at general elections.
  21. I hope he did. It would have been a brief conversation.... "Yes, sir, I do know who you are and you should have known better. The rules DO apply to you. Now go away and get some appropriate ID." Oh, to have heard something like that!
