  1. So after the announcements of release and return from loan etc. I reckon we have the following squad. Correct me if I'm wrong. Keepers Ross Stewart Gary Maley Brian Schwake Defenders Jack McMillan Nicky Devlin Aaron Taylor-Sinclair Cece Pepe Alan Lithgow (inj) Jon Guthrie Effie Ambrose Hakeem Odoffin Midfielders Steve Lawson (can also play at right back) Marvin Bartley Keaghan Jacobs Craig Sibbald Scott Robinson Robbie Crawford Scott Pittman Carlos Pignatiello Alan Forrest Ayman Souda Scott Tiffoney (can also play up front) Dolly Menga (can also play up front) Forwards Lyndon Dykes Jack Hamilton Rafa Da Vita (can also play on the wing) Based on that, I reckon we don't need that many in. I reckon a new keeper, a centre half to replace Brown and possibly another striker.
  2. Kelly Gallager Halkett Guthrie ATS Bartley Jacobs Lawless Pittman Robinson Dykes
  3. And what fantasy world is this you live in? Where this season have you watched Hibs defeating Livingston 1-0. Away back to the Championship forum.
  4. Oh oh oh it's magic, you know. Guthrie, Brown and Ambrose
  5. Since the Winter Break :- Lost to us, beat a struggling Kilmarnock by a goal, lost to Celtic, drew with a poor Hearts, beat Aberdeen (who were struggling for goals), struggled to beat 10 men Ayr, struggled to beat 10 men Motherwell, drew with Ross County. You've done well to gain points but really have been stuttering in most games. Unfortunately your games before us are against the Ugly Sisters and away to St Mirren which could very well end with 0 points.
  6. My thoughts are we should be shooting for 3rd. Minimum of top 6. Points predicted:- Hibs (A) - 1 point - We've been unlucky to get a win there under Holt and Hibs are much better at home than they are away Celtic (H) - 0 point - We've got a decent record at home and against Lennon's Celtic but they are flying atm, but a rested Livi and a tired Celtic could give us all 3 but I'd settle for a point, realistically we are going to get nothing though. St Johnstone (A) - 3 points. If we are to challenge for 3rd, this is the sort of game we need to pick point up from, especially against a stuttering St Johnstone. Hearts (H) - 3 points - Hearts ship a lot of goals, we don't at home. I expect another good win here against a Championship bound Hearts. Aberdeen (H) - 1 point - We have a shocking record against this mob. If we want third we have to take something from this mob. Kilmarnock (A) - 3 points - another stuttering team who are just clinging onto hope for top 6. I just hope we are well clear of them by the time the split comes. I fancy us to grab all 3 here. Total projected - 11 points. Although I reckon we should be ok for top 6 if we get 7 points. Especially if they are against Kilmarnock, Hibs and St Johnstone.
  7. I like this line up and Lawless has played a lot and could do with a rest. You can assume that the Mengabus won't have more than 60 minutes in him. I like the idea of Keaghan in midfield. As well as Sibbs has played, sometimes you just need Keaghan's drive to push the team forward
  8. That's a shame. He was doing a job coming off the bench. I hope Erskine can find a new club once he heals
  9. And yet it wasn't that long ago that Motherwell were fined for the state of their grass pitch. I believe tattie field was used to describe it. For anyone who wants a go at our pitch, go and watch the Livi v Motherwell game on the 1st February and you'll see us play some gorgeous football on a surface that we've been told is dangerous and football can't be played on it. As for the pricing, it would be great if we could reduce the prices but as has been pointed out, it's our main source of income and on a night like tonight, halving the price, won't entice many more fans out.
  10. It was hardly sticking the heid on him. Griffiths stamp had more force than Menga's "headbutt". In fact, me blowing into a paperbag has more force than Menga's "headbutt".
  11. 1970 was the introduction of the 3rd round entry for the top clubs but that replaced the prelim rounds of previous years. I'd still like to see it similar to the way it was in 1969. Next year have 42 league clubs enter at 1st round. The other 22 spots taken by non-league clubs who fight it out in the prelim rounds.
  12. It's the thought of playing at a shitty wee ground with travel on dodgy roads where they are expected to win 25-0. Shitting themselves at the thought of a potential upset. I want to see the romance of the cup back, not this filtering bullshit in the early rounds.
  13. Stick all clubs in the hat at the first round stage. Let's see the big clubs shitting themselves at the prospect of an away game up at Fort William or somewhere like that.
  14. Can we have your dog as ref over Greg Aitken. He can't be any worse
  15. He was awful coming off the bench away to Forfar. He missed an absolute howler at home to Aberdeen and was hooked at half time because he was so bad. Last season against St Mirren, he blasted one over the bar from 8 yards with an open goal in front of him. He played well at home to St Mirren this year where he put in a lovely cross for the second goal but apart from that I've not been impressed and we've really not seen much of him since that honking miss against Aberdeen.
  16. Lithgow isn't fit unfortunately. The lineup should be Sarkic McMillan Lamie Guthrie Taylor-Sinclair Bartley Crawford Robinson Pittman Lawless Dykes Bench Stewart, Odoffin, Jacobs, Lawson, Souda, Tiffoney and bloody Erskine because we really don't have anyone else
  17. To be honest it's all a matter of opinion. There are some rank rotten players there. I agree that left back was the struggle, as we seemed to have a riches there through the leagues. I'd disagree on Jonny Brown as he was decent in the 3rd division before he broke his leg. He wasn't the same player after that happened. I always remembered him as being a right dirty player, who put in some shocking challenges which was why I had a soft spot. I'd still go Bradley Donaldson over him as at least we got a decent half season out of Brown which was more than we got from Donaldson. And not having Sheerin up front is a crime, he was truly awful. At least Sekaija had some skill and could do a back flip, could you imagine Jordan Sheerin trying a backflip?
  18. I guess we'll agree to disagree then. I'm assuming you wouldn't have him in our worst XI over the last 10 years?
  19. The very same Dylan Mackin but if you had watched him play, you would see my point. I'm sure Falkirk fans would agree with me. 2 of those goals were against Brechin and 1 against Dumbarton. I stand by my statement that he can't finish. 28 games in the Championship in total, 5 goals.
  20. It really does. All of these useless scrotes were in my thoughts. TBF you would have to be really pish up front to be worse than Sheerin and Mackin.
  21. Holt saying in the record that 16 players including 2 keepers and 2 loanees were at training on Thursday and he had to play himself. Said he's struggling to get 16 players fit for Saturday. He said they'll either go out and play out of their skins or fly the White Flag. Sounds like there is no in between. We desperately need some players in
  22. GK - Andrew McNeil - I doubt anyone will find a pisher keeper than him. Cost us a play off place and conceded a shit ton of goals due to the numerous flaps he made. DR - Brad Donaldson - Brad Who? We never saw much of him but what we saw wasn't great. Big lad, can't defend or cross a ball. DC - Neil Hastings - Big slow, can't tackle, dirty. It was like watching your Uncle Bob playing centre half in a pub league. DC - Darren Cole - Not much more to say than his defending got us relegated. Utter Pish DL - Calum Booth - I was going to say Sevanne. LB has been a good position for us. Booth struggles with pacey wingers. Not the best left back I've seen. RW - Spas Georgiev - Softer than my pillow. Couldn't tackle and couldn't beat an egg. CM - Hugo Faria - Never match fit. Always a yard off the pace. Slower than a three legged tortoise. CM - Kyle Wilkie - He wasn't great tbf. Often gave the ball away. Wasn't great in the tackle. LW - Gregg Wylde - The guy can run. He can't do much else (It shows how poor he is that I've got him in ahead of Moises Duckrell and Myles Hippolyte) CF - Jordan Sheerin - He might have been better if he was 10 stone lighter. Again, think of your Uncle Bob playing Centre Forward in a pub league. CF - Dylan Mackin - Slow, no skill, no finish. It shows how bad he was that he's on the list ahead of 39 year old Kenny Miller who spent more time trying to manage than play as a striker Manager - Mark Burchill - Out of his depth as a manager.
  23. I didn't think Dykes looked completely fit if I'm honest. Perhaps not quite ready so hopefully the next couple of weeks can get him back to full fitness I thought the same, he seemed to be a yard off the pace of the game. You can't fault him for trying. I think we're a different side with a fully fit Dykes, Robinson and Pittman. We definitely need some sort of option if he does get injured again
  24. I think a lot of our issues stem from injury and the match fitness of players. Hopefully the international break will bring some players back. We were playing Rangers without Lithgow and Devlin at the back which are our two cogs in the defence. If you look at the rest of the team. Lawson was playing his 3rd start of the season. Odoffin was the same. Dykes was playing his 1st game back from injury. Pitts, his second. Add to this Sinclair-Taylor making his debut and Souda playing his first game since the Hearts red card, it's no wonder we looked 2nd best. Hopefully a rest for the players and more of the squad shaking off injury will give us some better form. I'm not expecting anything from the Celtic game but I think the games we after that are very winnable.
