We've had a few. From McPhee the Bee in the 90s to Hassan Kachloul in 2005 to the Mengabus more recently, they are Cult heroes in their own way.
McPhee was the supersub, came off the bench and grabbed a goal when we needed it.
Hassan Kachloul was famous for signing for the club and helping save us from relegation. His first touch was to take a free kick and stick it in the top corner. Livi fans still use the cultness of Kachloul to wind up Dundee fans.
Dolly Menga was famous for having skill, being a big haddie but people loving the outrageous tricks he tried. Famous for scoring against Rangers and that goal against Hearts where half the team ended up on their arse, Dolly is a bit of a cult hero in West Lothian.

His name is Pittman, Scott Pittman. So much of a legend, he got a segment on him being a legend at the end of last week's A View from the Terrace.

Could've been, would've been, should've been, wasn't.
The game is over and we could debate all the VAR decisions for ages. Reality is that we scored, had a chance to put the game away but didn't and got punished at the end. Hats off to Hearts for fighting on with 10 men to get the late winner. Another game where we need to learn to hoof the ball out at the end, rather than gift the ball to the opposition.
Onwards and upwards. A chance for us to get some key players back from injury and go again after the World Cup. Hopefully, Davie can sustain the 4th place and keep the good season going.

Well done St Mirren. You did well to get the win with 10 men. I think that St Mirren team will surprise a few sides this season. I think they'll get a top 6 place along with us. One of Hibs, Aberdeen or Hearts will miss out and the tears will be glorious.

So with Mullin shipped out on loan. Do you think we'll get another couple of players in before the window closes? Possibly Odin Bailey back on loan to replace Mullin and the rumoured signing of Stephen Kelly. Is there anyone else?

A mod could always just merge the threads.
I think if we just let the drama queens have their drama in the other thread. We can talk about the match in this thread.
How do you think we'll line up?
I reckon we could look like this:-
Shamal
Devlin Fitzwater Obileye Cancar
Kelly
Holt Pittman
Nouble Bahamboula
Anderson
Bench
Stryjeck
Longridge
Brandon
Bitsinoude
Omeonga
Montano (if he passes concussion tests)
Goncalves
Shinnie
Mullen

Every good Livi squad needs a Menga/Souda. It's just not Livi without it.
I will say though, Attila Kriston was the blueprint. He walked so Jet/Nouble could runI don't think we could ever claim that Jet ran.

Dolly Jet Bahamboula. Davie seems to like the big hulking winger. I suspect he'll convert him to a striker at some point over the season.

I notice that Connor McLennan has been told that his contract is not being renewed at Aberdeen. Is it worth Davie picking him up in the off season as a potential winger option? He always looked problematic whenever he played us and I suspect he would link up well with Bruce Anderson.

I think people are underestimating the quality of a fully fit JET, I genuinely believe he was the best non-OF player in the league for the 6 weeks we had him fully fit.
Tbf I agree that it's moot anyway, we can't afford him, he'll be off to China
That was his issue at Aberdeen. He sat on the bench, unfit and put on a shedload of weight. The second half of last season, when Martindale got him fit, JET was our standout player. Now, he's an overweight passenger.
Unless we get him cheap and he's willing to get back in shape, I would pass on the enigma that is JET

I like the front 3 of Nouble, Bailey and Forrest. Who plays what position, that's up to Martindale. I love the pace and direct running of Bailey. Forrest has shown consistent form since December, form that we've not seen from him since playing for the Lions and Nouble is just tremendous. I love his physique and skill. He's like Dolly Menga but good.
I also think Montano could come in and try and claim a starting place as well, as for Soto. We'll see, I'm not convinced.

Here's the plan Hearts. You guys roll over to us on Saturday and Ross County after that. Then on week 33, you beat Hibs, preventing them from getting into the top 6 and then put them out of the cup.
We're happy, you guys are happy and Hibs go back to being the useless jobbers we all know and can't stand.

For me, we lost to a fantastic Celtic side. The refereeing decisions never went in our favour but they haven't done so far this season and we've still managed to pick up points.
What I laughed at, was the Celtic players and fans celebrating like they'd won an Old Firm derby at Ibrox, rather than a crappy wee team from West Lothian with the lowest budget in the league.
We punch above our weight every season, we don't have the money that Celtic or any other teams have, which is why we allowed them to have 3 stands.
It was great to see a sell out, it's just a shame we couldn't get a result.

Neither our official report nor the BBC have any cards recorded other than the one given to Niskanen. Suppose we'll have to wait for the referee's report.
Nicky definitely got booked for the celebration. That snivelling toad of a ref couldn't wait to haul the card out.

So, I see the interest is high on the Ibrox match.
Rangers without Kent, Morelos and Hagi, if there ever was a time to beat Rangers, it may be now.
I reckon we'll not change too much and go with the following
Stryjeck
Devlin Fitz Obileye Longridge
Pittman Holt Omeonga
Bailey Anderson Forrest
Davie may fancy Big Nouble on the wing but I like the defensive work of Forrest which I think we'll need against Tavernier
Mon the Lions.

Right, I'm stupidly going through to this one. Is it still just the best idea to park in the stadium car park? Or is there decent on-street parking nearby that is just as good? Only been there once before and can't remember much about the locality...
There is loads of parking nearby within about a 10 minute walk. The business units at Livi Village are normally quite good, it's a walk under the bridge, then up the slope and down to the stadium from there. It's called Quarrywood Court and a lot of Livi fans park there.
You can also park at or near the centre or at West Lothian College, both nearby and either cheap or free.
I think the stadium charges a fiver for parking

A few injury issues coming into this one as we continue to struggle.
The team, hopefully might look something like this:-
Stryjeck
Devlin Obileye Fitzwater Longridge
Holt, Shinnie Omeonga
Bailey Forrest
Anderson
He might decide to shove Williamson into midfield and Shinnie up front but I don't think we'll be far away from that line up.

Davie said in an interview that Lewis turned an ankle in the pre-match warm up and he was hooked because they saw he was limping. Lewis didn't want to come off but Davie didn't want to aggravate it any further.

If we had more competent defenders at the club 352 would be the way to go to fit the 1,000 midfielders into the side
Yeah but it doesn't fit the 2000 left backs we have at the club.
Something has to change to help Bruce out. He seems to be running about like a headless chicken with no support atm.

2 others in our 18 are the best players in their house though so it all evens out.
Kyle would disagree.

It's interesting to see how confident some Livi supporters are about winning at Dens. Presumably it's because Charlie Adam is injured and they're playing a newly promoted side. Dundee really should have more points on the board rather than the two we've managed and I think Livi are in for a much tougher match than some of their supporters think. If we play the way we can then Dundee will win although I wouldn't put it past Livi sneaking an undeserved draw or even a victory if the referee awards them a penalty. Three in four games against us is rather a lot and two of them were very controversial.
No Livi fan is confident. It's all false bravado. Our team has been ravaged with illness and COVID and to be honest, on paper, Dundee are the easiest of the opening 5 games we have and knowing we have 3 tough games following this one, we kind of need to get something to kickstart the season. We are bottom after playing Rangers and Hibs away, Motherwell and Aberdeen at home. We were soundly beaten in both away games and unlucky in both home games.
Griffiths is an outstanding signing for Dundee and just what we didn't want for this game but we have some good players of our own coming back from injury and illness.
I reckon we may see a team similar to this:-
Stryjeck
Devlin Obileye Fitz Longridge
Holt Shinnie Sibbald
Bailey Forrest
Anderson
Subs - Bardon, Parkes, Penrice, Lewis, Jacobs, Montano, Hamilton

Liam Kelly
Kakay Gallagher Halkett Ciaran Brown
Odoffin Davidson
JET Jordan Thompson
Dykes Hardie

So need for Bartley to act like a fanny then.
And no need for your player to act like a fanny and go after the ball when there was one a few yards either side of him and no need for the ref to book Bartley. Handbags for no reason. Rather than go after the ball, pick up another ball and play on. Everyone wins.

My favourite moment of the match, apart from the Aberdeen goals, was the look of incredulity on his face when Marvin “don’t touch me or I’ll fall over” Bartley was booked for hiding the ball behind his back as Aberdeen wanted to take a throw in. Someone needs to teach him the etiquette of being on the bench as a member of the coaching staff.
What annoyed me was there was plenty of balls sitting on wee cones nearby that the Aberdeen player. There was no need for him to go into the dugout.

I wouldn't class him a hero.
He had bags of talent but wasted it. He was famous for wearing the number 91 and lying about his age.
