  1. Pitts form has been patchy, although it has picked up recently. Ambrose has been a bombscare at times this season, we looked at our best last season with Guthrie and Brown as the Centre Halves. Bartley seems to be off the pace in a few of the games, the number 10's have made a few runs in which he's not picked up. I would like to see Robinson in the number 10 role as I feel that is his best position. I would also like to see Souda, McMillan and Brown play, although I suspect that we may have seen the last of the Aymen Souda :(. It's a lot of changes but may be needed as we need something to get our season started.
  2. I think I'd like to see a bit of a shake up. There are a few players that could do with being dropped due to poor form. I would go with something like this:- Stryjek McMillan - Brown - Guthrie - Serrano Holt - Sibbald Forrest - Robinson - Souda Lokotsch Bench:- McCrorie, Ambrose, Devlin, Bartley, Jacobs, Lawson, Pignatiello, Pittman, Poplatnik
  3. I thought Forrest took a tug before the tackle in the box. I thought the Aberdeen defender was lucky not to receive his marching orders and conceding a free kick outside the box. The tackle was from behind and he did play the man first. We really were on the wrong end of a few decisions from the ref. The Aberdeen players certainly threw themselves to the ground every time one of our players got close.
  4. I think it's going to be a free agent, a decent loan or a bargain. I can't see us splashing out on someone. Some unknown striker who scores for fun in lower league England that used to play for Walsall
  5. When you look at the list of players we had missing for yesterday's game, that was very impressive. Missing were:- McCrorie (starting keeper, due to loan clause not allowing him to play against parent club) Brown (Injury) Lithgow (long term injury) Lawson (injury) Jacobs (assume it's an injury) Souda (injury perhaps?) Menga (absent for whatever reason, not listed on the playing squad) Dykes (off to pastures new) Add in the fact that Bartley was taken off with an injury and Poplatnik was as well, that was some result. I'm hoping that with the Dykes money, Holt is allowed to pop out and grab a couple of players to shore up the positions we need. Perhaps another winger and striker. Assuming all are out against Aberdeen (apart from McCrorie), it leaves the squad paper thin. I reckon we could line up as follows:- Stryjek Devlin Fitzwater Guthrie McMillan Holt Crawford Forrest Pittman Sibbald Hamilton Bench McCrorie, Taylor-Sinclair, Ambrose, Robinson, Kouidder-Aissa, Pignatello, Tiffoney, Da Vita, Pepe, It's really a threadbare squad and I really do think we might need a player or two in to bolster the squad.
  6. Definitely a triallist keeper - The hosts brought on seven new faces, with only Mehmet surviving the whole 90 minutes after three earlier substitutions, while Livi made five changes which saw Marvin Bartley, Jack McMillan, Craig Sibbald, Lyndon Dykes and Robby McCrorie be replaced by Carlo Pignatielo, Robbie Crawford, Salim Kouider Aissa, Jack Hamilton and a trialist.
  7. There was one triallist named on the bench and none of the other subs was a keeper. I would assume that the triallist is a keeper based on that, but you are right, it could as easily be Jason Holt.
  8. I saw somewhere that Menga was in Belgium. I can't remember where. I reckon the triallist was probably a sub keeper that we're looking at, possibly Rohan Ferguson who is on trial with the club.
  9. I think he's a class keeper. He looked solid on his debut. There was a couple of misplays but that's normal for a keeper. I'm interested to see how good he will be this season with regular games and properly knowing the defence. Personally, I'm delighted with the signing and hope he has an outstanding season.
  10. Robby McCrorie is back. https://livingstonfc.co.uk/whats-the-story-its-robby-mccrorie/
  11. He's better than Messi. Wash your mouth out.....
  12. So you are saying that it doesn't make sense for Annan (and their merry band of fans) for example, in the winter, to potentially hit roads closed off due to snow. Regionalise it and you reduce the costs for clubs. That leads to better profit and more of a chance to survive in the lower leagues.
  13. Here is what I would do for reconstruction. This season 14-10-10-10, keep things as they are as it's the only way to appease everyone. Next Season go to a 12-12-20 format. Both championship and premiership the same, spitting the same. The seasides leagues going to Seaside League North and South. with the pyramid below. Winners of Highland League feeding into North and Lowland League into south, either through a playoff or automatic relegation So, that would potentially look something like below in 2021 (used as an example) Prem Celtic, Rangers, Motherwell, Livingston, Aberdeen, Hibs, St Johnstone, Kilmarnock, Ross County, St Mirren, Hamilton and Dundee Utd Championship Hearts, Inverness CT, Ayr Utd, Dunfermline, Dundee, QOS, Morton, Arbroath, Alloa, Partick Thistle, Falkirk and Raith Rovers Seaside North Cove Rangers, Elgin, Peterhead, Brechin City, Montrose, Forfar, East Fife, Cowdenbeath, Stirling Albion and Brora Rangers Seaside South Stranraer, Annan, Kelty Hearts, Dumbarton, Clyde, Edinburgh City, Airdrie, Stenhousemuir, Queens Park and Albion Rovers. It's not perfect but the big teams are not going to vote for less games against the Old Firm and it makes sense to regionalise below the Championship to reduce potential travel costs in this current climate.
  14. In my head I'd written Pittman. I'll edit my post, cheers.
  15. So after the announcements of release and return from loan etc. I reckon we have the following squad. Correct me if I'm wrong. Keepers Ross Stewart Gary Maley Brian Schwake Defenders Jack McMillan Nicky Devlin Aaron Taylor-Sinclair Cece Pepe Alan Lithgow (inj) Jon Guthrie Effie Ambrose Hakeem Odoffin Midfielders Steve Lawson (can also play at right back) Marvin Bartley Keaghan Jacobs Craig Sibbald Scott Robinson Robbie Crawford Scott Pittman Carlos Pignatiello Alan Forrest Ayman Souda Scott Tiffoney (can also play up front) Dolly Menga (can also play up front) Forwards Lyndon Dykes Jack Hamilton Rafa Da Vita (can also play on the wing) Based on that, I reckon we don't need that many in. I reckon a new keeper, a centre half to replace Brown and possibly another striker.
  16. Kelly Gallager Halkett Guthrie ATS Bartley Jacobs Lawless Pittman Robinson Dykes
  17. And what fantasy world is this you live in? Where this season have you watched Hibs defeating Livingston 1-0. Away back to the Championship forum.
  18. Oh oh oh it's magic, you know. Guthrie, Brown and Ambrose
  19. Since the Winter Break :- Lost to us, beat a struggling Kilmarnock by a goal, lost to Celtic, drew with a poor Hearts, beat Aberdeen (who were struggling for goals), struggled to beat 10 men Ayr, struggled to beat 10 men Motherwell, drew with Ross County. You've done well to gain points but really have been stuttering in most games. Unfortunately your games before us are against the Ugly Sisters and away to St Mirren which could very well end with 0 points.
  20. My thoughts are we should be shooting for 3rd. Minimum of top 6. Points predicted:- Hibs (A) - 1 point - We've been unlucky to get a win there under Holt and Hibs are much better at home than they are away Celtic (H) - 0 point - We've got a decent record at home and against Lennon's Celtic but they are flying atm, but a rested Livi and a tired Celtic could give us all 3 but I'd settle for a point, realistically we are going to get nothing though. St Johnstone (A) - 3 points. If we are to challenge for 3rd, this is the sort of game we need to pick point up from, especially against a stuttering St Johnstone. Hearts (H) - 3 points - Hearts ship a lot of goals, we don't at home. I expect another good win here against a Championship bound Hearts. Aberdeen (H) - 1 point - We have a shocking record against this mob. If we want third we have to take something from this mob. Kilmarnock (A) - 3 points - another stuttering team who are just clinging onto hope for top 6. I just hope we are well clear of them by the time the split comes. I fancy us to grab all 3 here. Total projected - 11 points. Although I reckon we should be ok for top 6 if we get 7 points. Especially if they are against Kilmarnock, Hibs and St Johnstone.
  21. I like this line up and Lawless has played a lot and could do with a rest. You can assume that the Mengabus won't have more than 60 minutes in him. I like the idea of Keaghan in midfield. As well as Sibbs has played, sometimes you just need Keaghan's drive to push the team forward
  22. That's a shame. He was doing a job coming off the bench. I hope Erskine can find a new club once he heals
  23. And yet it wasn't that long ago that Motherwell were fined for the state of their grass pitch. I believe tattie field was used to describe it. For anyone who wants a go at our pitch, go and watch the Livi v Motherwell game on the 1st February and you'll see us play some gorgeous football on a surface that we've been told is dangerous and football can't be played on it. As for the pricing, it would be great if we could reduce the prices but as has been pointed out, it's our main source of income and on a night like tonight, halving the price, won't entice many more fans out.
  24. It was hardly sticking the heid on him. Griffiths stamp had more force than Menga's "headbutt". In fact, me blowing into a paperbag has more force than Menga's "headbutt".
