  1. Seems a general agreement that with us having a small wobble and Alloa improving then we'll see a much tighter contest than the previous games this season. I'd go for our usual starting 11 but with a view bringing on folk like Ross, Tait and Shanley on early if we're still a bit flat. I'm starting to be disappointed with Agyemans impact so I'm hoping he can kick on.
  2. I think we could do with, in this order, An experienced keeper CB/RB cover (McGlynn doesn't rate Bisland) A backup striker I think that the league will come down to fine margins and while both keepers are fine, both look like they have a mistake in them and we could do with that extra certainty at the back. both Mackie and Henderson are left footed so a right footed backup CB who is happy at RB too would be ideal. The additional striker would be nice but not essential.
  3. Strange move in the first place and pretty odd man management from McGlynn, he's simply not suited to the system McGlynn plays. We rejigged the whole system to suit him against Edinburgh City which means that even if he did well he still wouldn't get a place in the normal set up. This is a good development all round, he'll score goals for Clyde and hopefully put himself in the shop window. I'd have thought a League 1 team would be in for him though.
  4. I'm honestly fuming about this, complete madness from McGlynn and if we don't go up it'll be this insanity that will have started the rot.
  5. Should be fine given FC Edinburgh's recent troubles but if we drop points it's all on McGlynn. We've got a settled winning side and I think this is a bit of a risk. Hope Allan takes his chance though
  6. To be fair, I read Cove's post match report and it's much improved from the seething incoherent mess it was the last time we shared a division.
  7. Pretty much this. i think that someone like Ethan Ross could start without any drop in quality and MacIver pulling up probably means it's best to bench him for Shanley but beyond that I'd only make forced changes.
  8. It was a bit subdued from the KM7 Stand as from our perspective it wasn't as obvious it had went in
  9. I thought this too, looks very much the backup striker to MacIver that McGlynn wants. Thought he was unselfish too a couple of times and that led to a goal.
  10. I think there's been a few injuries with Fyvie being a big miss but aye, they offered very little other than hoping to catch a slack pass. Once we scored they had absolutely nothing and Hartley had no plan B. Much like QoTS on Saturday there was never any ambition to try and win the game. I actually think the way Kelty approached the game against us would get a bit more joy. They weren't all out attack but they tried to play a bit and caused us some trouble at the back.
  11. When's the Hartley post match interview dropping? Need to clear my work calendar
  12. I really liked the centre halves passing the ball about with Burrell as the lone striker chasing shadows, a very professional performance.
  13. We were miles better than Cove all over the park after a slow start. In no danger whatsoever and a pretty easy 3 points in the end. All credit to McGlynn, he's worked wonders with this team
  14. We started pretty slowly with a bit of nerves but have grown into the game and really should have converted another one of our chances. Cove don't seem up to much other than capitalising on daft mistakes. They're doubling up on our wingers and there's a massive space in the middle of the park so hopefully we take advantage in the 2nd half and put it to bed early.
  15. What do the Cove fans think of their lineup? As expected?
  16. I dunno, lose tomorrow and Hamilton could have it in their own hands. Game in hand and two more games against us. I don't think we're anywhere near "more or less" being done.
  17. I was pretty annoyed we couldn't find the space for Burrell as there's obviously a player there. That said, it's clear that McGlynn only saw him as an impact sub and when he did start he was much less effective for us. MacIver is obviously the exact type of striker McGlynn wants and is doing a great job so no harm done and we've not really needed the impact subs in the way we did previous years. Same team as Saturday please and a similar performance, with us (correctly) making such a big show of the unbeaten record it would be a nightmare to lose it here. With it hopefully (please) being our last season in League 1 it would be great to beat Hartley as the man who's transfer madness, tactical ineptitude and all round b*****dry started us off on this nightmare journey. On a daft note. For my stag do last year, my best man got Paul Hartley to record a congratulations message to me (under the auspices of me being a huge Cove/Hartley fan) as a joke and it still fills me with rage every time i think about it, mispronounced my wife's name too the b*****d.
  18. If you set up like QoTS you need to at least have an out ball up the field and they had absolutely nothing. I thought we were in no danger at all and the only question was if we'd get a cross past Ambrose. I thought McGlynn making a triple attacking sub at 1 nil showed how little threat we faced. Same team for Tuesday.
  19. Fairly similar to the last game at TFS although QoTS have attacked less if you can believe it. Ambrose really making it look easy dealing with our crosses, we need to find another way
  20. What's with the weird positioning of the ads in the North stand? Asking the vital questions ahead of today's game
  21. Suppose it's a balance, if you've got folk like McKay or Lawal who aren't likely to be getting much game time and you can get their wages away or at least reduced while getting people in who are more likely to contribute then great. I do agree that we shouldn't be making the squad any smaller so only let go if we'll be able to replace with better quality.
  22. I think a striker that fits McGlynns system is a must. MacIver is having a great season but there are times where we need to freshen it up and if he gets injured we're in real bother. Both keepers have had glaring errors and the league has been so tight that if there was an experienced option available I'd probably go for that. I think our options in the 3 behind the striker are excellent and wouldn't change although Lawal hasn't had a look in so probably best for all involved if he found a loan. I don't really rate Bisland, think he's fine as a backup RB though so probably not worth spending money there unless we want Yeats going into midfield. So a striker, a keeper and if we have money left over maybe some additional numbers for cover at centre mid and centre back.
  23. I think the role he played last week will be his from now on. Come on to help shore things up towards the end of a game.
