  1. Be a tense one in the stadium constantly checking the Hamilton score, would be fantastic to win it at home. Hamilton away to Cove is probably the fixture we would have chosen too.

I agree that it's got to be our best possible team and not to assume it'll be a walkover. Can bring on folk like McGinn later on if we're trying to make sure they get enough for a medal.

    Indeed.

This thread has become pretty stale whilst the match threads are much more interesting lately.

Come the annual P&B shuffle can I express a desire to leave 13 years of division, belligerence and petty arguments behind and start The Falkirk FC thread anew. Just a thought 🫥

I'm against this, every so often i end up on the first page by mistake and i always enjoy the 2nd ever post "SACK EVERYONE"

What’s everyone’s thoughts on Sean Mackie, I thought he might be for the off at the end of the season but I’m changing my mind. His physicality could be an asset in a championship squad.

If he's happy to be 2nd choice LB again and has an according salary then absolutely. He might think he needs to be first choice somewhere though.

  4. Thought we were very wasteful (which despite our success we have been most of the season), first half especially. Was just one of those days where the ball always fell to an Annan defender and we didn't switch it up enough.

Need to improve on that against tougher opposition and the rat b*****d midweek.

It's an interesting thought that a few folk have mentioned so far about growing the fan base of the club. I'd love to see Falkirk regularly selling out the home end of the stadium and justifying another stand.

The question is how to clubs at any level actually accomplish that, look at man city, all the money in the world and all the trophies going and the stadium still isn't full.

I'd love to see the game growing across the board but I've no idea how to make it happen.

I think that has to be the aim of Falkirk, especially with the new developments around the stadium. Totally agree that there's no point in a 4th stand unless we're consistently filling the Main and South stands.

There's nothing like a winning team to bring fans in and I suppose we need to capitalise on that success and really aim for getting younger fans hooked while the going is good as we all know it won't be too long before disaster strikes!

I think for Falkirk we need to relatively quickly establish ourselves as one of the top teams in the 2nd tier challenging for promotion while somehow being able to get rid of the operating loss the club apparently has each season if there's no player sales or cup runs. The club isn't sustainable as is but hopefully can be if the good work continues on and off the pitch.

I think all community clubs should aim have a decent youth set-up and after the self harm of getting rid of a successful academy we're on the long path to restoring some trust. I think this will also help drive support to the club as people will be involved from an early age.

So ideally, establishing ourselves in the top tier with a great youth set up and in a decent place financially. Maybe looking at St Mirren as a model?

I'm kinda similar. When I was younger I couldn't get enough of F1, now I'm a bit "meh" that the new season is starting already. I very rarely watch qualifying nowadays and have hardly seen any of the sprints.

At the risk of going full Grampa Simpson, when I started watching there were 16 races. Now there's 24 I think, so there's been an increase of 50 per cent over that period. Not sure any other sport has increased by as much as that over the last 30 years - although obviously a lot more is televised than it was back then.

Don't really have an issue with the points system though as with the reliability nowadays it would have been the same three teams scoring points most weeks. Mind you, it was changed to the top 10 when the three new teams arrived - weird it wasn't then changed again after they all went bust!

It definitely doesn't feel like an event anymore, now it's just part of the weekends sport. If you miss a race or two then fine, you won't be waiting long and each one has less impact on the bigger picture.

That said, a close championship would make all the difference.

I want to raise a complaint with Falkirk Daft for continually reminding me that Dennon Lewis exists, aside from that another great podcast.

I think we’ll get beat tonight.

    I’m mentally prepared for it.

We need to fly out the traps like on Saturday, early goal will make all the difference for us. Always a tough game against Montrose, would love to see them go up via the playoffs.

  9. I think the fact that neither keeper has made the No1 spot their own tells its own story. You wouldn't be surprised to see Long start tomorrow night.

I think having 2 young keepers is a problem and we'd have been better off with one of them with another experienced keeper in as back up for them to learn from. Will be more important next season as we're unlikely to be anywhere near as dominant so will need more confidence from the back.

What most Accies fans don't realise is that by only beating them 3-2 we have made sure they keep Rankin in a job which as we all know is as good for us, and the rest of the league, as its bad for them as he aint got a clue. 🤣🤣😘

I did wonder that, despite being closer to Alloa (who they play next week) than us in the league whether the almost fightback would give them a bit more faith in Rankin.

  11. Fantastic win and in the end probably more enjoyable with all that tension.

First half hour we blew them away and it looked like we'd absolutely scud them. Accies changed it and their fans who remained saw a bit of character from their team. Ultimately i didn't think they did enough to feel hard done by or anything. If i was betting i would have bet on us scoring before them.

The ref lost control of that game by letting far too many heavy challenges slide and at one point both sides were absolutely flying into challenges and I'm surprised there wasn't an injury.  From the KM7 stand i thought Accies first was well offside too.

At the time i disagreed with Tait for Henderson but i think that helped give us more control and ultimately see it out relatively comfortably.

Looking forward to midweek and (hopefully) an even bigger lead.

  12. Given the importance the club has publicly placed on us needing promotion this year I'd be surprised if there's any willingness to let Morrison go. If it's promotion or part time then I'm not sure what price you can attach to that.

Morrison is a phenomenal player for this level and I haven't seen enough from Agyeman or Ross to suggest they'll have anything like the same impact. Definitely prefer to lose him for free at the end of the season

  13. I was worried about this game pre match and up until we scored it was pretty even with Alloa looking dangerous on the break. Luckily they had Sammon up front so nothing really stuck, was surprised to see Wales out wide as I was interested in seeing what he was like.

After that and especially for the second half we weren't troubled and were absolutely relentless going forward. Difficult to pick out individuals as it was a complete performance and the subs came on without any change in tempo. Thought Tait looked neat and tidy and can see him being a regular sub to control a game.

I think, despite the scoreline, that Graham had them set up a lot more sensibly than Rice against us and if Alloa nicked the first goal it's a different game.

    Hopefully not.

Definitely a player in there and sad to see him go as he's different to what we have but not consistent enough to start every week.

Lawal is nowhere near our starting 11 and struggles to make the bench after 2 years. Don't think we'll be seeing him play for us again.

He can be a tidy player but he's inconsistent and nowhere near physical enough.
