  1. Was there actually any truth to that though? Seems very unlikely. It's normal for clubs to not want a player out on loan cup tied incase they bring him back. We did it with mcneil I'm sure.
  2. Makes sense why he chucked one in against them now... In all seriousness though, he did decent for us but he's not irreplaceable.
  3. That's fair enough but I'm honestly at the stage with Gullan where there's only so many positions you can try him in before you just put your hands up and admit he isn't good enough. Happy to be proven wrong but I can't really remember him being effective at this level in any single position and he's infuriating when he's moving wide as a main striker, nullifying any threat we have in the process. When I seen brown moving in to cb I assumed it was just until the subs where made and was surprised he stayed there tbf. I thought we where going with 3 atb. I'm like many others who aren't sold on brown and Byrne as a 2 despite them both being fantastic players, easton can track back when he wants to aswell but I'm not convinced from the admittedly limited time he's player in that or a similar role that we could carry him defensively when he isn't tracking back. I'm not sure Vaughan is any less defensive minded in that role. Did connolly not play that position for us in his first game under mckinnon? Had a bit more pace about him then admittedly but he looked a handful with his direct running. As you've said we've got options and thankfully it isn't any of us making the decisions.
  4. McGill was lb but was asked to try and push on which left a massive gap for airdrie to waste time/ attack in to. Brown can play the ball out better from cb, it's something Murray has spoken of in the past. You're right about gullan being rotten which makes it even more perplexing that you'd want to play him at rm ahead of connolly there or Mullin who are both very good rm/rws. Easton has been moved central at times this season and hasn't looked nearly as effective.
  5. In fairness you knew from the moment you seen his name on the teamsheet, for the most part.
  6. Would take dom Thomas in a heartbeat btw. Couldn't give a f**k how much he's loved getting it up us in the past, on his day he's a fantastic player.
  7. Airdrie kept pinging the ball into our lb area because mcgill went on to be more attacking. They had our number tactically, probably because Murray was their manager for so long. Masson isn't good enough. He will be playing at a far lower level than this next season. Corr has been unlucky that we're challenging for the league though. I think he does have a decent future ahead of him but will need game time. I'm not sure Watson is actually the answer to our defensive issues either. We're best when we go and attack teams. We can set up to defend and play very well but we're a better team when we attack, gain a lead and then we can try and manage the game to a win.
  8. Definitely and again, considering how long he's been out, it will take him time to get all of that stuff right.
  9. Matthews is the obvious answer to that but he's been out so long it's only natural for him to take time to get up to speed/ back in to his rhythm, not that he's done much wrong in his two appearances so far beyond the odd wayward pass.
  10. Would take him in a heartbeat. Good defender at this level.
  11. Is easton actually fit? Went off injured at Tannadice but has played every game since. I think we can cut him a little bit of slack tbh. There's a few players who clearly have little niggles that are being nursed at times, euan Murray and dabrowski being the obvious ones in recent weeks. I think our tactic today was to look for the ball in behind with smith etc running on to it but due to the press Airdrie play, we just couldn't do it so it resulted in long aimless punts forward in which the likes of Fordyce are going to win 99/100. Can we honestly just get the shouts of gullan at lw/St or anywhere to f**k btw. The guy isn't actually good enough. He's the joe chalmers of attacking players. Good at l1 level and can have a decent game here n there at this level but he's never a starter for anyone remotely serious about challenging for promotion, as nice a guy as he is.
  12. Have heard similar. Have also been told he's finished as a player but hopefully that's just at that level. Dick isn't good enough to be starting every week as a cb. He's Imo our only player in our weakest position of lb at the moment.
  13. As much as millen was partly at fault for the goal and stupidly getting sent off that's a bit harsh. The guys barely put a foot wrong all season, a season which see's us remarkably top of the league at this stage.
  14. Airdrie have had our number this season. The only team to do so. I think Hancock and megwa have been outstanding today for airdrie but I can't actually recall rae making a save? The ref has been bad but I don't think he's affected the outcome of the game at all.
  15. Yeah think the coverage has been very good so far. Once the sun fucked off behind the stand it got better as well
  16. Some horrendous shouts in there. If we're going to keep playing long then Hamilton does need on though.
  17. Got what we deserved from that half, Airdrie deservedly leading.
  18. Millen trying to be too cute instead of just clearing the lines there gave Airdrie the chance to get the ball back in. Can't complain considering they've enjoyed most of the possession
  19. As am I despite clearly being confused about our current status in the world.
