  1. Well I think this answers my original query. Phew, what a relief. I was beginning to think Israel might have been a bit naughty. Edit- Sorry, full pile of blatant lies here - https://www.standard.co.uk/news/politics/suella-braverman-israel-gaza-palestine-international-law-b1149483.html
  2. Yes, it was, and tbf, she got fired and kicked out of her Government post... for about five minutes.
  3. Perhaps she was just there in her capacity as a constituency MP, to reassure the Israeli State that the good people of Fareham are right behind them in their ongoing genocidal rampage in Gaza.
  4. Gist of this particular aspect of the Bill is that JKR and her cult have been screaming blue murder for yonks that "misgendering" would see people cuffed and prosecuted for Hate Crimes. Palpable nonsense, since this was never an offence to begin with, and the Bill changed nothing about that aspect of our laws. To be completely fair here, so too have a lot of folk on the "other side" of this particular bunfight, such as India Willoughby, who invariably jumps in two-footed with anything she considers a slight against her or any other transperson. IW and her ilk have been chomping at the bit, waiting for 01/04 to grass up the likes of JKR, mistakenly believing that the Act would see JKR and others who are in the habit of deliberately misgendering trans people sent to the slammer. More rational people have been saying all along that this was complete and utter nonsense, but of course, now that it has been demonstrated to be complete and utter nonsense, IW and Co are seething about JKR not being arrested, and JKR and her cultists are busy having a wee circle-jerk to themselves about what awesome freedom fighters they are because none of them got arrested after they hadn't broken the law. (yip ) Of course, it's not just limited to the "Gender reassignment/Gender Identity" parts of the Bill, there has been a similar amount of ridiculous, performative nonsense spouted about "I should be able to say whatever the f**k I like in my own home/grassed up by the kids/neighbours" aspect and a few others, mainly the fact that "Sex" is protected characteristic which is excluded, but again, it's invariably by bad actors who either haven't bothered to grasp what the Bill actually is and does, or simply have a vested interest in talking down and decrying anything Holyrood does. There have even been the usual, predictable moans about "wish they took legal advice", "what is the point?" etc, despite the fact Lord Bracadale's Independent Review was exactly that and spelled out precisely why the Bill was necessary. It also recommended excluding "sex" for now because of concerns that would potentially create insurmountable complications in prosecuting otherwise solid cases, to the extent that they were likely to collapse, in favour of a Consultation on a separate "Misogyny" Law which is currently in progress, and, if things go to plan, should result in a law that protects people, especially women and girls, from being victimised because of their sex, exactly what the moaners are demanding. But of course, this is also totally ignored by those who are determined to throw a shitfit about sex being excluded in the first place, even though it is also excluded from the almost identical, pre-existing laws elsewhere in the UK.
  5. Anyone figured out yet what Braverman was doing meeting with Israeli commanders and such, given that she's not a Government minister or anything?
  6. Just because some bad actors have decided to be performatively stupid does not make the legislation "fatuous". It's the people making a big song and dance about the legislation being something it is not who are "fatuous". It's not all that different to pre-existing law elsewhere in the UK, and it hasn't, contrary to what the same fatuous arseholes have been maintaining despite being both told repeatedly, and demonstrably shown, created a whole load of new offences that constitute nothing more than saying a few naughty words about some people. Again, the only people who were building this Act up into something it is not, are those who are now claiming that because their predictions of the sky falling in and thousands being marched away by the tartan Stasi on 01/04 for "thought crimes" have not come to pass, this somehow an indication that they were "correct" all along, and the fact that people are not being arrested for not breaking the law is somehow proof the law is flawed or unnecessary. Absolutely deranged behaviour.
  7. That was meant firmly tongue-in-cheek Does turning Professional grant football clubs the ability to control freak weather and rainfall? (also tongue-in-cheek)
  8. I don't see what happened earlier in the season as being particularly relevant, because up to the point where the Rangers game was postponed Dundee were fully up to date with their fixtures. We don't have a backlog of five matches, we have a backlog of one, which was originally scheduled for just a few weeks ago. What might have happened back in November or whenever has had no material impact on the current pressing issue.
  9. No, but given the aforementioned pressures and time constaints of the impending split, it seems to me rather foolish to forego the possibilty of getting a match played on one date in favour of a later one which potentially, needlessly exacerbates those problems.
  10. Is the question of suitability of facilities not a matter that is dictated and overseen by the SPFL in any case? Again, I am not trying to absolve Dundee here for obvious problems with their own stadium, but if you are a governing body/body of oversight and you stipulate that your member clubs facilities must reach certain criterion, is it not ultimately your responsibility to monitor that and ensure compliance? Even if this is a case of Dundee being less than transparent with knowledge of pre-existing problems, there is surely a question of competence here with regard to the SPFL's own fitness.
  11. Somehow i don't think this would have been a consideration had the original postponed fixture been due to take place at Ibrox, but Dundee had a game the following weekend while Rangers did not. It would have been scheduled for the earliest available date regardless. Ok, the league's "investigation" has yet to return any conclusions, but if they try to censure Dundee then the club just need to ask why the match was rescheduled for the 10th and not the 3rd, and why the scheduling of Dundee Home fixtures appears to revolve around considerations that don't involve Dundee FC in the first place.
  12. Cup ties, but mainly the split. I've asked several times and had no response. Does anyone know if the Dens pitch would have been playable last night, and if so, is there any justifiable reason for the SPFL's decision to ignore the open date of the 3rd of April, in favour of the 10th of April which left them no contingency in an already difficult fixture logjam?
  13. If this was September, or even May, it wouldn't be anything like as pressing a problem. The league is shitting itself because of time pressures created by the tinpot "split", and the fact that they can't be seen to be giving one Glasgow club an "unfair" set of fixtures compared to another because of the absolute shitstorm it would create. Obviously the fundamental problem is still the drainage problems at Dens, but there is no way the postponment of one or two fixtures should be causing this much consternation in any serious league.
  14. Pads win a 1 run game before September!!! What is going on???
  15. Dundee United are having no problems whatsoever with Premiership fixtures being postponed.
  16. I noticed the already postponed Civil Service Strollers v's Gretna 2008 match was, yet again, postponed last night due to a waterlogged pitch. Does anyone know if Gretna 2008 released an irate STATEMENT prompting an investigation from the Lowland League?
  17. Got to admit, I'm a bit confused by the fact that Scottish football groundsmen appear to believe that the only way to deal with standing water on a flooded pitch is to spike the bejesus out of the ground, then cross their fingers and hope it eventually drains away. Most other sports have machinery and equipment that lifts the excess water off the surface without damaging it in any way, but these machines are seemingly unheard of in football
  18. I've had Phantom Doctrine installed for years, but gave up on it after it took about an hour to reach the extraction conditions after completing the objectives on my first mission. Just felt really long-winded and a bit of a chore. Is it worth persisting with?
  19. This, with an added dose of "it's impossible to love your family members if you don't love god" from a priest who looked like he was barely old enough to shave. I got up and walked out, and no, I couldn't give a f**k how that "looked". The ultimate irony is the deid relative was an atheist and had never had any involvement with the Catholic church, or any other church, in her entire life, but her surviving husband was a very lapsed Catholic, like hadn't been to church in 50 years lapsed, and in his grief he was completely railroaded into a Catholic ceremony and burial by estranged relatives. I have no idea why the church even agreed to it, but there you go.
  20. Should benefit from a horribly weak Division. Tenn is looking like a 1st overall candidate, and I think 2024 will be a bit of a wheel-spinning season for Indi bedding-in Richardson properly. I'm still not convinced Lawrence is going to take a step and actually become the elite franchise QB everyone thought. Lot of turnaround in Jax, which could mean they go either way. I think they are more of a potential threat to Houston than Indi, but I wouldn't be surprised if there are no WC teams at all in the South again.
  21. There's a guy on Youtube I follow who said weeks ago that it made a ton of sense for Buffalo to trade Diggs ASAP. He's usually spot on with most things, but I thought that was a bit of a left-field shout. Fair play to him though.
  22. They don't usually schedule matches for the midweek immediately after the Cup semis, do they? Can see us playing Sevco on the 24th or something, but only after the SPFL has ensured they play their next fixture on the following Sunday, because rest is obviously more important for Glasgow-based sides, and it wont be the final OF match for similar ridiculous reasons as to why the postponed fixture wasn't rearranged for tonight.
  23. There was some stooshie a while back about post-split fixtures being announced, and some team being handed an obviously ridiculous set of fixtures that were cobbled together to suit one of the arse-cheeks. Might no have been Aberdeen, but I'm sure it was something like they were expected to play 21 Away fixtures, or 3x trips to Parkhead and 3x trips to Ibrox. I can't remember any of the details, but I'm 100% certain I'm correct in recalling the uproar it created.
  24. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-scotland-tayside-central-68723050 Nice to see a wee lad hero-worshipping Joe Shaughnessy and no jumping on the Messi/CR bandwaggon like his pals Glad he's doing well. High time something serious was done to deal with idiots lobbing pyro.
