  1. The SFA have updated their list of licensed clubs for July. Got all the new faces in.
  2. Forgot about them Until this season there were only 14? Members outwith Tier 5 + qualifiers. The difference wasn't that extreme. That's why there might be some reformatting to come. Now and then I still don't have a problem with Tier 5 clubs being treated as equal to each other regardless of geography.
  3. Only Golspie and Banks O'dee will enter the preliminary rounds for North of Tay Bridge boundary. NCL champions should have an entry like the SOS and EOS non-licensed champions do. As far as I'm concerned.
  4. 17 HFL, 10 NCL, 32 NRJFA, 16 North NRJFA. 16 LL, 40 EOS, 16 SOS, 63 WRJFA, 20 South ERJFA. A 3 way split at Tier 5 would be pretty decent.
  5. If you restrict it to just senior non-leagues and juniors it basically 2-1 in favour of the South of Tay. Not 5 times. 75 HFL/NCL/NRJFA/ERJFA north of Tay 155 LL/EOS/SOS/WRJFA/ERJFA south of tay
  6. I'd checked twitter and some other places before asking, but nothing came up.
  7. Finding archived league tables of the SoSFL can be a bit tricky to find. Nonleaguematters.co.uk keeps the a decent recent record. In looking at 2011-12 Burntisland Shipyard are listed in the table, it's even quite specific by saying they were deducted 10 pts for unfulfilled fixtures and lists match results https://www.nonleaguematters.co.uk/divisions/91/1/ I've never seen Burntisland Shipyard listed as a member of the SoSFL and it seems extremely weird for a Fife amateur team to be playing in D&G. Seems too detailed not to have happened, but too doesn't make any sense. Any idea of what's gone on?
  8. CSS have started work on getting their floodlights in place. So shouldn't have anything to worry about come next June.
  9. Thought this would be the best fit in the Lowland League forum going by topic titles. CSS have started their work on getting floodlights installed.
  10. Didn't know that Slammiversary was going to be in Dallas this year. The day after NJPW's G1 show, probably hoping to attract some of the fly ins looking to make a weekend of it.
  11. For 3 years it was the difference of 2 clubs in the North of the pyramid that were advantaged in a further round. For the first season of that the prize money was the same for entering the First Round and the preliminary rounds. This year it's the difference of 1 club since the HFL is at 17 while the Lowland is at 16. Nobody knows yet what the formatting changes might see going forward.
  12. Based on the 2017-18 figures A team loses at the round they enter. 17th or 18th in HFL R1 = £4000. Tier 6 or below PR1 or PR2 = £3000 difference of £1000 Win round you enter and lose in the next 17th or 18th in HFL R1 & R2 = £9000. Tier 6 or below PR1 & PR2 = £6000 or PR2 & R1 = £7000 Difference of either £2000/£3000.
  13. 2016-17 Prize Money PR1: £2000 PR2: £2000 R1: £2000 R2: £4000 R3: £6000 R4: £9000 R5: £12000 R6: £15000 SF: £18000 Runner up: £30000 Winner: £60000 2017-18 Prize Money PR1: £3000 PR2: £3000 R1: £4000 R2: £5000 R3: £6000 R4: £9000 R5: £12000 R6: £15000 SF: £18000 Runner Up: £30000 Winner: £60000 2016-17 Fort William First Round First Round Rothes First Round First Round 2017-18 Fort William First Round First Round Strathspey Thistle First Round First Round 2018-19 Strathspey Thistle First Round First Round Fort William First Round First Round Not really a big advantage in terms of pennies and the 17th and 18th teams in the Highland League have yet to take advantage of starting in the First Round since Highland & Lowland Leagues were guaranteed First Round entry.
  14. The Highland League and Lowland League are both at the same tier. It can hardly be a surprise that they enter at the same stage? The only difference I would see is that the top 16 in each enter at the First Round. Since the Highland has usually had extra teams while the Lowland is fixed at 16. That'd be under the current format of course. Who knows how the SFA might reformat the early rounds of the competition with more clubs getting licensed.
  15. After the 2018 moves to the EoS, Auchinleck Talbot were one of the clubs regularly quoted in articles around the pyramid. They standard line was that they would join if others did, but they are happy with being a junior club. You can contrast and compare them to Kelty. Both pursued licensing, both were told to join Tier 6 pyramid leagues (SoS and EoS). Auchinleck decided against pursuing licensing at that point. Maybe if Clydebank reaffirm their decision to move senior at the AGM next month they can attract other interest and see some momentum build around it.
  16. By precedent: East Kilbride being accepted there for the 2013/14 season, only for the Lowland League to be created to prevent their participation. Edusport Academy being accepted while playing in Hamilton. Bonnyton Thistle out of Ayrshire with Girvan also providing the another historical example. And now Edusport Academy reserves being accepted playing out Lanarkshire. You've also got the story, backed up by the experience Kelty Hearts went through trying to get licensed, of Auchinleck Talbot being told joing the SoS to meet the pyramid league requirement.
  17. Opening day fixtures of the 2019-20 Eos Premier Division Saturday 27th July 2019 Blackburn United v. Linlithgow Rose Broxburn v. Bo'ness Dunbar United v. Musselburgh Ath. Dundonald Bluebell v. Crossgates Jeanfield Swifts v. Camelon Newtongrange Star v. Tranent Sauchie v. Hill of Beath Whitehill Welfare v. Penicuik
  18. Not a single SoS club managed a league average attendance over 100 last year. Any club with the ability to "hump everyone" face potentially losing their current squad capable of doing so. Either through being asked for a pay cut, the extra travel and junior rivals targeting players. The worst that could happen is that the club loses its squad, some fans, money, the Lowland League play-off with the West Premiership entering Tier 6 for 2020-21. That's the kind of considerations they would of had at the end of the 2018-19 season.
  19. Certainly. As you've pointed out Berwick will dip, how dramatically no one knows yet. Edusport might get a bump from their move. Bonnyrigg and Berwick will be new opponents for most so might attract extra spectators when on the road. Then everyone expects the EoS to go up across the board. Any bragging rights will be temporary though. The Lowland League will win out eventually by being the higher tier.
  20. The new Tayside Super and Premier can just be tucked under the Highland League. Just move the boundary a touch south for Scone & Tayport. Get the South Super & South Premier into the EoS. Gives Highland and Lowland 3 feeders for now. Work on something more coherent once clubs are licensed.
  21. The SPFL helped draw the line and didn't care about sending their own members north. Why should they now? I'd say at the minute you only have to move the boundary a little lower to encompass Scone and Tayport officially into the highland area. The boundary has done its job in creating a Tayside set up to feed into the Highland League.
