  1. There is also the possibility that a wealthy investor could give us the breathing space to actually grow fan ownership into something that isn't just for making ends meet. For example if there was someone US based who had perhaps sold an engineering company to make a fortune. They then might want to help us get fan ownership working with their input. Would be unthinkable though.
  2. Just because folk pay 10 quid a month doesn't mean they should immediately be informed of everything the club does. Not sure there's much merit in giving the details of a relatively complex financial arrangement that publicly names the interested party out to a load of people who have absolutely no idea how this stuff works. For me the club have done the correct thing here. There's an interested party, the initial details have been deemed acceptable enough to fully explore so they are doing that before putting it out to the shareholders including the Well Society. All this coming off the back of the exploratory vote that said fans would consider outside investment.
  3. Not to sound all sensible here but would it not make sense to hear what the terms are before we either bin it or take it?
  4. Can't work out what's more shocking. The development around investment or that big Jon Obika's out for Saturday.
  5. Hickey: extremely broken. Patterson: played like me in the last five minutes of fives when I've a stinking hangover. Johnston: Not proven. SOD: On. That. Plane.
  6. O'Donnell was good today, a few misplaced passes but tbh every pass that went near any of our forward players bounced off them. The assist for the goal was beautiful. A weird game because all of our attacking players had absolute stinkers but we managed to take a point.
  7. A genuinely terrible game of football all round. In a season of laughably avoidable goals, McGinn sticking the ball out for a corner under no pressure before giving a free header away is right up there with the best.
  8. Imo with Wilkinson there is a good player at our level there somewhere. Quite skilful and could finish well. Wrong time, wrong club. Clearly he wasn't happy, Kettlewell had lost the run of himself sticking him in at centre mid when we had Davor sitting on the bench.
  9. We just collectively laugh at Nicolson after he said it was "utterly inexplicable" that we overlooked Tommy Wright in favour of Graham Alexander when we were in a relegation shitfight. Obviously that whole situation ended up in disaster later but in that first season we wound up comfortably staying up and Tommy Wright seen Killie get relegated.
  10. If you've been anywhere near a radio in Scotland in the last year or so you have heard Ewan McVicar even if you haven't heard of him.
  11. https://www.motherwellfc.co.uk/2024/03/22/brian-caldwell-appointed-chief-executive/ Disappointing lack of picture with the scarf above his head but there's still time.
  12. Already can't wait to see the rag tag bunch we're going to assemble in the summer.
  13. I was looking for this the other day. The camera angle couldn't be better either.
  14. It's because it's a binary decision. As soon as you add VAR to anything that's up to opinion then it falls to f**k.
  15. They made a rod for their own back with this. If something takes 6 minutes of going frame by frame to work out if it hit someone's bicep and, if so, where abouts in relation to the "shirt line" then I'd suggest that the initial decision did not have anything clear nor obvious wrong with it.
  16. If you're using Safari you can hit the reader mode button and it tends to bypass it. Alternatively
  17. This is a big step in the right direction away from stuffing a camera in someone's coupon after we've just been battered. Good work from the media troops.
  18. Aye. Both handballs are ridiculous to even consider as fouls. The issue is that I don't actually think anybody can confidently say what is a handball in these instances now. We've seen even less obvious handballs given as penalties (this one last week for example, but there's been countless others). The rule is confusing and the consistency is infuriating. I mentioned it in our thread but it does feel like sunk cost fallacy. The VAR system does not work properly, it's being staffed by people who are incompetent and the powers that be think that it'll work fine. Waiting 5-6 minutes for a decision to be awarded whatever way is not improving anyones match day experience.
  19. Cannae believe there's people shocked that we struggled to break down a team who were sitting in. We have nobody who can unpick that problem, Spittal to Bair/Vale on the counter is our best attacking output and when that's taken away we've struggled. As far as VAR, f**k knows. It's sunk cost fallacy now. We've a system in place that's run by incompetent referees and we expect it to work well. I'm not even just talking about today either. All over the league this season has been one stinking decision after another.
  20. Do I think any of the referees are biased towards any particular club in this country? No. Do I think they are all incompetent shitebags? Yes.
