A fine excuse. Wonder if they will go for Mark Wilson next

Money is very tight but not every quality Manager is looking for big money. Some are successful businessmen who will not rely on the wages offered at Brechin to fund their lifestyle.
Did we not get compo for kirk from St Johnstone?

There are currently 6 Board members and none of them resigned.
No office bearers resigned.
2 members of the Management / Operations team have left but have been replaced.
You would be surprised at the quantity and quality of people who have applied for the Manager vacancy
That's encouraging to hear we can attract good quality managers

He owns several Hotels/ pubs in Aberfeldy. I believe he contributed to the Elgin coffers to subsidise players wages.
Thanks for clearing that up. Sure we were after him when Mark Wilson got sacked but elgin wouldn't let us talk to him

What finance would he bring? We certainly need all the money we can currently get our hands on.

Should just use the compo money and go get mckinnon from forfar. Yeah they are not doing great just now but he's a good manager with experience and his style of play is not much different to kirk maybe abit more attacking if any thing and he loves the glebe

Guessing it will be simmy incharge for the game on Saturday. Hopefully when a new manager comes in he is kept on would be abit unfair for him to be pushed out because kirk chose to move on

Absolutely.
I've met him a quite a few times through a mate. Don't know him well or anything, but he's very self-depricating and good company. The idea he's arrogant or an arsehole etc is complete nonsense.
Scotland didn't go well for him, but I really don't see that being relevant to the St Johnstone job in 2023. I'd be more concerned at how badly his second time at Hearts went, and the shambolic recruitment he oversaw.
He certainly was a good coach in the past. Today, not so sure.
Yes it is hes great with our supporters. Hes been with us for nearly 3 years and not taken a penny apart from to pay for traveling hes at every training session and most games home and away. Yeah Scotland didn't work for him but he has massive experience and alot of contacts in the game get the feeling if kirk goes with him kirk will be doing alot and levein will be guiding him kirk is a brilliant coach and has changed us from the absolute mess we were to where we are now unbeaten in the league for over a year and a half I know its only highland league but if he has the ability to transform us he can do it to any team

I was listening to Off the Ball earlier and they were saying "Oh poor Craig Levein, he always gets judged on that 4-6-0 game..."
I go to most Scotland games, I was at the 4-6-0 game, however what sticks out for me the most about Levein's time in charge of Scotland is that under his tenure, after two home games of a qualifying group (Euro's I think), we were already out of it. We were the very first team in UEFA to be absolutely guaranteed not to qualify. Even The Faroe Islands could still statistically qualify. You knew that they wouldn't but mathematically it was possible. But Scotland were out. Two games. Failure. That's Craig Levein for me.
I struggle to think of a single person in Scottish football that I dislike more than Levein. He's an arrogant, obnoxious, condescending serial failure.
I wish St. Johnstone nothing but success, but seeing him back in the game sucks.Have you actually met him ? He's absolutely none of those things

Prefer to stay in the SPFL however, I'd choose Highland League over Lowland League.
With Barry Smith doing his usual great job at Elgin I think you will be safe the Highland league isn't si bad yeah there are a fair few trecks for away days but the clubs and the fans are so much more friendlier and welcoming

Kirk rumoured to be joining Levein at St.Johnstone as his assistant.
When I first herd about levein linked with the job it did cross my mind he would maybe go with him. If it dose happen just give the job to simmy till the end of the season

So it seems most teams in the league have a game tomorrow night but we don't. That's going to be alot of games we have to catch up on now

Fair enough, think this is the first time they've tried to finish the Cup so early so it should free up some Saturdays later on.
Yeah thought it was later last year. Yeah makes sence I suppose

(even when Brechin get knocked out in the semis)
P. S. Think there's a fair chance of the final getting shifted which would free up next Saturday for league games if the clubs are up for it. Having the Brora v Keith semi squeezed in midweek before the final seems a bit rushed.
Haha I was more thinking of them not making wick travel to us on a Wednesday night. That and trying to get some of our games in hand played

With most teams having a free Saturday next week apart from the ones in the cup. Why are the league not using this to reschedule games ? We have quite a few now surely it would make more sence for our game against wick to be played that Saturday than making them travel down on a Wednesday?
