  1. Does anyone know why VOL and Dunipace didn’t play this midweek?
  2. St Andrews game turned on a substitution. Our New striker came off the bench to score two and set up another as Saints came from behind. Three teams on six points and two of them meet on Saturday. An early season cracker.
  3. You won’t catch me narrowing it down to three clubs. I stand by my original list. Kirkcaldy and Camelon away in the space of four days will tell us a lot about the Saints chances.
  4. For me, Camelon, Blackburn, Whitburn, Kirkcaldy and Dunipace will be vying with ourselves and Newtongrange for promotion. six out of those seven won so no real surprises yesterday.
  5. Incredible indeed Hibee. 4-2 up with a minute of normal time left against 10 men you’d think Saints would see out the time. But no they lose a poor goal from a set piece, score straight from the kick off and then lose another moments later and end up hanging on. Three of the goals we gave away were criminal. We can’t afford to do that in our upcoming games which are against three of the best teams in the division.
  6. St Andrews v Haddington Tough draw but at least we will have our first ever home Scottish Cup tie.
  7. I totally agree. Penalties are an unsatisfactory way of settling a game. Andy Gray suggested removing players in extra time years ago. Worth a look.
  8. St Andrews playing Rosyth in the first round(not sure if home or away). winners at home to Luncarty
  9. Definitely not!! EOS been a breath of fresh air compared to the juniors. One bad situation doesn’t define them.
  10. What I don’t understand is why it has taken five months to work out that Craigroyston played an ineligible player. We’re almost three weeks on from the end of the League campaign and the relegation picture is changing again.
  11. It’s all change again!! Craigroyston have now been deducted six points for playing ineligible players in two games in January. They are now relegated again and Edinburgh United have been reprieved.
  12. I saw that Edinburgh United had been deducted points but didn’t realise that put them in the bottom three. There hasn’t been any announcement from the EOS about them being relegated which is strange. I believe there will be an increased emphasis on scrutinising team lines next year as the league have said there are far too many ineligible players and mistakes being made on teamlines.
  13. It’s going to be a cracking Division. I would have Blackburn, Whitburn and Newtongrange as favourites to go up. Camelon, Dunipace, Kirkcaldy and St Andrews should be in the mix. Oakley and Arniston are the two I’m finding hard to predict. I reckon Vale, Heriot Watt and Burntisland/Lochore will be favourites to go down. Roll on the last weekend in July.
  14. Congratulations to Whitburn. Worthy champions and I suspect they will be challenging for a third straight promotion next year.
  15. Full time: Craigroyston 1 Thornton 0 Hibs implode big style, losing five games on the bounce to crash out of the promotion picture having looked odds on to book their spot in the first division only a few weeks ago. Craigroyston move out of the bottom three with a blockbuster game to come at Ormiston on Saturday.
  16. Thankfully we have most of our players signed up for next season. It’s going to be a very tough league next year but our run in the King Cup(four wins away to first division sides) shows that we should be competitive. Roll on next season.
  17. An absolute sickener to lose to a last minute penalty. In truth despite being in the ascendancy for most of the second half the Saints didn’t trouble the Pace goalkeeper. But to lose to another of these ridiculous handball decisions is hard to take. I’m having a go at the rule not the match officials but the ball drops between two players and hits our boy on the hand at point blank range. Absolutely nothing he could do about it. Well, that’s how it appeared in real time. I’ll need to see the replay(Dunipace we’re filming it).
  18. Ochilview had Stenhousemuir, Syngenta and Queens Park sharing albeit that was only scheduled for one season.
  19. Newtongrange 1 St Andrews 2 A Lewis Sawers penalty in the dying minutes of extra time make it four wins away to first division opposition in this years King Cup. Glenrothes, Rosyth, Camelon and the Star have all been dispatched and now it is Dunipace who stand between us and our first cup final as a senior side. Wednesday at 7.30pm for what should be a cracking tie.
  20. I’m assuming the draw for the semis must be soon given that they are due to be played in ten days time.
