Ardrossan 2 St Andrews 3 Despite the score line it was a comfortable win. We had a mad minute midway through the first half where we had a penalty saved and Rovers went up the park and scored. However two goals in a minute at the end of the half plus a 25 yard screamer early in the second was enough to see us into the last 32. It was only their goalkeeper who kept them in the game.

Whitburn 2 St Andrews 3 A quite superb game of football saw Saints come back from two down to secure a huge victory. Whitburn hit the woodwork twice and missed a few opportunities but we blew enough chances to win three games. It was plain to see why both teams are at the top of the table. That’s 12 wins in 13 games in all competitions for us this season. Long May it continue.

I would rather we had a home draw but I’ve always wanted to sample the delights of Cliftonhill so hopefully Albion win tomorrow.

Never give up hope Willie. Every team goes through tough periods in their history but that’s what makes the good times all the more enjoyable. It’s great to see so many posters on here looking for a trip to St Andrews. I’d be delighted with another home draw and we’ll provide a warm welcome to whoever comes to our ground.

I only saw the last twenty minutes of the Saints v Talbot game but Auchinleck hardly created a chance in their bid to rescue the tie. Best crowd I have seen at our park. Absolutely buzzing. Two years ago this club were struggling on and off the pitch. A new chairman, some hard work behind the scenes and things have turned around big time. Roll on tomorrow.

I think that’s wee bit disrespectful. a team in the relegation zone in tier 6 away to a side in the promotion places in tier 7. We’ve only lost one game all season.

I think Nitten will only get stronger as the season goes on. Blackburns defeat to Lochore was a big surprise. I had them down as one of my favourites for promotion but they have only won two out of six. Camelon v Dunipace should be a cracker on Saturday.

On Sunday I listed six teams who I thought would be our main rivals for promotion. Blackburn, Whitburn, Newtongrange, Dunipace, Camelon and Kirkcaldy. I stand by that list. But that doesn’t mean I’ll be right.

Absolutely. We had several players missing last night. And our next two games are against teams that will be challenging for promotion so it doesn’t get any easier.
