  1. He’s another one who had his confidence shattered at the club. Decent player that would do a job for us in the Championship. He’ll be a few years older (and hopefully wiser) since we last saw him, too. Also, as The Gifted Sub mentioned, he relegated the DABs and should be worth a second chance for that alone. Thank you.
  2. Hiya pals, Was going through the archives of this wonderful thread and came across the above post from early 2017. Since the chat of the Teckledome (aka the Neu Campy) has tapered off, I'd completely forgotten about the proposed Derrification of the Kingsway area. If we're really going to make it our new home (Dens will always be home, imo), I think it's time we got something like this built in direct juxtaposition to the V&As architectural dominance, as well as offering a much-needed visual threat to anyone entering/exiting the city that isn't a Dee. Rio De Janeiro has Christ the Redeemer Newcastle has the Angel of the North Argonath has Isildur and Anárion But what other city in the known world has a giant, bronze statue of Fabián Caballero? Fucking nae-c**t, that's who. Get it done, Dundee. Build the Cabby Arch and get this bloody stadium built. PS. Sign a fucking striker, tae. Thank you.
  3. We absolutely need another striker, this really has to be McPake's priority now. I know we've all been saying this for years (it's been staring us in the face ever since the Stewart/Hemmings partnership disintegrated), but I really am struggling to see where the goals are going to come from. Would also very much like a young, hungry keeper to challenge for first team. I do want Hamilton to do well, and there must be a player in there somewhere, but I just have no confidence in him whatsoever... hopefully he can prove us all wrong. Anyway — one or two good signings away from a very decent squad, imo. Thank you.
  4. Regarding Millwr, the biggest thing for me is that he has a history of undermining his managers. Given that he was in for McPakes job, it makes his position untenable. He would have done a job in the Championship as a player, imo, but the risk of his negative attitude in the dressing room would put me off, if I was in charge of him — particularly if I’d just been promoted ahead of him. Him moving on is best for all parties, imo. Plus he’s an ugly, goblin-looking c**t. Thank you.
  5. I personally think our strips over the last 2-3 seasons have been poor (hated the armed forces strip and the mental away one), not too keen on this one but as least we don’t have a great big eagle on it. Thank you.
  6. Just noticed that our glorious thread has now ticked over to 2500 pages — 2500 pages of everything Dundee. This is genuinely the only area I read on P&B nowadays. Thank you, fellow Dees.
  7. All just seems a bit petty, but there we go. I really hope we sign a few players today, at this rate we’ll be left with the dregs again. Any ideas on a keeper? Surely we cannot rely on Hamilton as no.1... Thank you.
  8. Genuine question, why does he red dot everything you say? I’m out of the look and have missed all the in-fighting. Thank you.
  9. My go-to is ‘minging, rapist-supporting, glow-in-the-dark DABs’, but ‘DAB’ on its own conjures those sentiments nicely. Thank you.
  10. An absolutely tragic fall from grace. Was once quite funny, now a mewling pedant. Thank you.
  11. This. A million times this. Very happy he’s signed on and hopefully McPake will let him bomb forward, like his days under Hartley. Raith for first game, that’s a great wee away trip. Saw us win the First Division there, that was the day I properly fell in love with Dundee. And Eddie Annand. He was some boy. Thank you.
  12. Hiya pals. It’s actually quite nice to be back on this forum. People are much more civilised down here (apart from the DABs), and we won’t have to endure the St Johnstone fans following us around... actually I don’t think we’ll ever shake them. Anyway, onwards and upwards. Particularly looking forward to a few away days to Arbroath. Thank you.
  13. This is so fucking depressing. Good luck to McPake, nothing but respect for the guy but I felt we really needed an experienced, steady figure to galvanise the club and set us on the right direction. Hopefully this is where Strachan steps in...
  14. He’s a total c**t, tbh. Good musician, though.
  15. Oh dear. I’m a bit lost as to what’s going on here, however I can also confirm that Granny Danger, for some unknown reason, had saved an image of a young Matty then uploaded it months later in a bitter atempt to embarrass him. He was then universally mocked for being a bit pathetic and, to be totally honest, lost any shred of credibility one could reasonably afford a stranger on an annonymous Scottish football forum. The bit I’m struggling with, is in what way is Biggie a Nazi? I know I haven’t been here very much in the last three years or so, but I always had him down as a Smiths-loving, Debbie Harry worshiping liberal type? WTF is going on? Thank you.
  16. Surely Hateley was worse than Klok? Riley and O’Donnell would have strolled into this seasons team, imo. Particularly Stephen O’Donnell, really good player and knew how to put himself about. Real shame that he became crocked... I always saw him as one of those long-term players, kinda of the Barry Smith ilk. Another player I really liked was Brian Kerr. Had a tonne or haters but I always really rated him. Again, miles better than Woods et al, imo. PS. Here’s my team: Hamilton Horsfield Gomis O’Dea Dyer Low Hateley Woods Williams Wolters Jordi #thank
  17. I feel like I’ve been watching this side for the last three seasons.
  18. And you’d deserve every one of those pelters.
  19. I think he regretted mentioning ‘culture’ the second the words left his mouth. The brass kneck of McCann was also eye-watering stuff. A couple of absolute charlatans that shpuld never have been near the job. Sad times, clearout badly needed.
  20. I was hugely skeptical about the Americans coming in and I was pretty vocal (and visual) about it at the time. Things changed for me after the fan vote; once it was voted in, I got on-board and for the most part was pleased with the path we were on — particularly in the ambition they showed to bring Hartley over from Alloa. I think Nelms has made some incredibly short-sighted decisions (season tickets, comments over the Celtic banner, ignoring professional offers of help to the club to name a few), however, I do still think they’ve been good for us. We were an absolute shambles prior to Bill Colvin and quite frankly, he admitted himself his pockets only went so deep and that we needed another route forward. Ultimately, they’ve got things badly wrong with McCann and McIntyre, but they’ve helped stablise us on and off the field. The proof will be in the pudding; how they react to relegation is going to be very telling — 10-15 years ago it would have (and did) crippled the club... I only hope they come to their senses and get this whole circus straightened out. Thank you.
  21. Ouch. One of the most universally despised (Dundee) characters in living memory. Wasn't he at Hearts in a Chief Exec role?
  22. Hartley deserved to go, he ran his course. McCann deserved to go, but more importantly, should have never been appointed in the first place. McIntyre deserves to go for a mixture of both reasons. Finally, and more seriously, it’s Nelms that deserves the bullet more than anyone. He’s no clue, and that’s being kind. Thank you.
