  1. Probably depends on how the football looks, one of the issues this season is there doesn't even really look like there's a coherent Plan A, let alone a B or C. We're basically reacting to what we're up against and performing at a similar level, so we ran PAOK close twice and have had 0-0s against Livi twice with broadly the same personnel.
  2. And the development fee can be negotiated to a sell o instead of we think that's likely, see Ryan Fraser
  3. Honestly it would be great if the next manager leaves because he's got another job rather than getting punted for being shite
  4. Shankland was top scorer in the youth league but couldn't hack it in the first team, hopefully Bavidge can make the transition a bit more successfully
  5. Honestly I think we just have to suffer through the season and punt Robson at the end, having managers come in part way through the season with the window closed doesn't feel like it helps. I think there might be a good manager in there but he seems wedded to reverting to a back 5 because it worked so well when he came in. I think we're really missing McRorie and his energy/ability to break lines which is required if you're going to attack from deep with wing backs.
  6. If Miovski and Duk are staying would it be worth seeing if Motherwell fancy taking Gueye for the rest of the season so we can see if he's worth persevering with next season? Doesn't seem to have anything to change games from the subs bench (nice elbow on Grant last night mind)
  7. Probably helps that he looks like a clone but having Sokler here and integrated means losing Miovski feels a question of how much we bring in
  8. Since Frankfurt it's looked a lot more like the Robson wins last season, much more hunger for 2nd balls and more fluidity when attacking. Had so much of that on Saturday, the 2nd and 3rd goals coming from something like 10 shots where we were first to everything, Mackenzie winning what looked like an even race to a 50:50 vs Taverner for his goal and Gartenmann playing as an auxiliary striker in the 91st minute. Think the next two league games will tell us how we're likely to do this year. We're well set up for playing better teams but worry in games we control we're wholly dependent on Duk/Clarkson/ANOther to do something spectacular to make the breakthrough.
  9. McGarry looks like he'll be fun to watch regardless of how good he ends up being
  10. Ryan Duncan as a left back is a "brave" choice. Feel like we'll be very good against the good teams we face and hopeless against everyone else. Robson is speed-running McInnes' time I think, we're now a very good counter attacking side, which at the end of last season was incredibly successful but now is expected so we did nothing against the likes of Stirling and Livi.
  11. Given the back 3 that started you'd have thought Shinnie and Ramadani would have the experience to do a little extra screening for at least the first 10 minutes. Clear errors from the defenders but letting an attacking midfielder score two identical goals has to fall on them to some degree.
  12. Nice of them to use Macedonia colours for Miovski. I can't get past the "Aberdeen's home kit should be red & white only" block in my head to have any opinion on it.
  13. I'd argue a season with us and at least 8 games in Europe should see him being looked at by lower prem/series A teams next summer. On his game he sticks out like a sore thumb in red, harder to do that at the cheeks and the 50 man Championship squads. Then there's Dylan Levitt...
  14. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/65909639 Hopefully this will see the Shinnie situation sorted sooner rather than later
  15. If Watford were willing to sell, how much would you be comfortable with Aberdeen spending on Pollock? For me he's easily worth the 500k they paid for Porteous, plus whatever sell on they want
  16. His brain and feet aren't connected, he can run about a bit but more likely to trip over the ball than have any end product.
  17. Seems like it's a movement/anticipation/vision issue which will hopefully improve with time. Last night in particular there were 21 players within about 30 yards of the goal a lot of the time, so not exactly a huge amount of space. Once the opponents have gone down to 10 we definitely seem able to make use of the extra man so just need to get better at engineering overloads when it's 11v11
  18. Ash Taylor is a far better defender, only thing Stewart is better at is reading the game. Wonder if Goodwin's "you're free to go" chats had some unexpected consequences.
  19. With the caveat that we had 6 league debutants in the starting 11 and were missing Scales, that wasn't the worst.
