  1. Had a knock at my door earlier. Was a girl with a Frenchie. She asked if it was mine as it had ran up to her outside my house and kept following her. I took it from her and the wife posted on Facebook about it. I put a harness on it and spent over an hour walking around with it in the hope that the owner would appear. They never. Gave it to my daughter to look after as my own dogs were too excited around it. My daughter contacted the local police to hand it in. They told her that if nobody was available at the station to take it then she should just let it go……….wtf.

There was someone at the station who has taken it. Cannot believe what the police said and also cannot believe that the owner was not combing the streets looking for it.

We went on a 5 day trip to the Western Front with History in 4th year. It involved an overnight ferry from Hull to Zebrugge. It had a bar, and a few of us went there. They asked no questions and we were sinking pints.

The history teacher showed up and gave us a roasting. Told us to get back to our rooms or we would be grounded. We stayed where we were.

Next night, we sneaked out of our hotel to a nearby Belgian pub where we were introduced to the joys of Jupiler. Still a favourite today.

So. You went to Hull and back?

Anyone any experience of door locks failing? The fob stopped working a while back (washing machine incident) so have just been unlocking/locking manually using the key. Suddenly this morning the key won't open the door either - it's turning but not unlocking. Any ideas anyone? Vauxhall Insignia if it helps.

Don’t know the answer but makes me wonder if the manufacturers are now so reliant on push button key fobs that they maybe use inferior key locking mechanisms and possibly even a small amount of wear on the keys renders them useless.

  4. Got a hire van just now. It’s an electric Vauxhall Vivaro lwb. Spent almost an hour last night trying to find a charger that would accept a normal bank/credit card. Finally found one and connected to it. Said it was a Rapid charger. It would only run at half the power output stated. After about an hour sitting there I gave up. It had put a grand total of 90miles on the battery at a cost of £29. Drove it this morning like Miss Daisy for about 15 miles. The gauge said that I had used up 25 miles.

There is no danger that I would ever buy an electric motor. Absolute con job.

    P.s.

have been driving for over 40 years and this is the first time that I’ve ever driven an automatic. Love it.

Two building-related questions for the collective experience and/or expertise of P and B to help me with. Any advice appreciated!

    1) How much would  be a reasonable estimate for a builder to replace a single air brick (probably cast iron)?

    2) Would a builder also be the best tradesman to consult for a potential job of water and damp proofing an outbuilding (it's a coal cellar) - or is there a specialism within the trade I should be looking for instead?

If only you knew someone who blows a lot of hot air at times, that would keep the damp at bay…😎

    What year?
    I've got an 09 plate.
Usually get stuff from Euro Car Parts who are generally quite reliable.

Have picked up a few bits & pieces from the scrappy also.

62 plate. Went to eBay places with very good reviews but sadly all service parts were wrong. Euro parts are a bit too expensive but I guess if you go cheap like me then you get what you deserve.
