  1. Just to confirm that the minutes of last night's AGM will be circulated to all Trust members in the next week or so
  2. Strong rumours that the next to go will not be a current League Two club.
  3. First half was a fairly eye-bleeding watch in admittedly difficult conditions. Would not have said that Finlay Gray and Mikey Ruth were rubbish, but they weren't very good either! Second half was much better and it was a comfortable win in the end. Have to fear for Bonnyrigg now. Never laid a glove on us the whole game. As others have said, no lack of effort but a serious lack of quality for this level. Mark Durnan MOTM for me. Had he and Brett Long avoided injury I'm sure it would have been a much closer title race this season, but them's the breaks. Was great to have a chat before the match with a Sons stalwart of the mid sixties, Jimmy Veitch. Into his eighties and still looking in great shape. Follows the Rose nowadays, but remembers his time at Boghead with great affection.
  4. Considering it was his first competitive game in nearly a year, he did fine. Played wide right, but not there to beat his full back and get crosses in. He was neat and tidy on the ball and put in a shift, carrying out his defensive duties well.
  5. Watched the game as a neutral following the (far too) late call-off at Peterhead. Forfar were clearly the better team, but no cutting edge at all in the final third. No surprise that their goal was scored by their central defender following a corner kick. Stranraer deserve some credit for hanging in there and managing to score with their only shot on target in the whole game. Marc McCallum must have been suffering from frostbite at full-time!
  6. At least if the game goes ahead at the Rock we won't have VAR, or phone-a-friend as I believe The Rangers call it
  7. How about one of Scotland's oldest clubs v One of Scotland's newest clubs
  8. Never one to criticise referees OKIII, but that was a stonewall penalty. To add insult to injury, the ref booked McLean. An unforgettable match right enough. Thought Greg Fleming was going to break our hearts, but class prevailed. Only downside was our struggle to deal with corner kicks and long throw-ins. Quite pleased that Tommy Goss was AWOL today
  9. Thanks for clarifying. In fairness to Sons fans on here, there will be two things that spooked them about a possible Hosie connection: 1. Residence in the North West of England 2. An apparent similarity between the company Sure Bets Pro Ltd., of which yourself and partner Rachel are Directors; and a company called Bet Butler (prop. A Hosie), which collapsed in 2015 with debts of £7m+ and resulted in AH being banned from being a Director of any company for 12 years for serious misconduct..
  10. Paul, Thanks for your replies Just to be clear, were you at the Bonnyrigg match on Saturday with Andy Hosie?
  11. Mr McPherson is also a Director of a Company called Sure Bets Pro Ltd. A company that tells you how to beat the bookies through the best arbitrage and matched betting software....................now hang on a minute, I seem to recall a former company offering something similar, Bet Waiter maybe, or was it Bet Butler?
  12. Currently 241. Renewal notices for 2023/24 going out soon. Rarely been a more important time to be a Trust member. If you have any Sons supporting friends who are not members or perhaps lapsed members, please encourage them to join.
  13. A comprehensive Minute of the AGM will issue to Trust members next week. For non-members, now would be a very appropriate time to sign up!
  14. Marking Roy that day was a young Gordon McQueen, the future Scottish internationalist. St Mirren scored a late equaliser courtesy of Willie Borland, who signed for the Sons a couple of years later.
