  1. It's worth mentioning in light of all this that stewards have absolutely zero power to prevent a pitch invasion. I used to be one during uni and all you get told is to put your arms out and shout to discourage them and specifically not to run after anyone. At the end of the day if you've got hundreds of people running down the stairs and through/over the gate you're meant to be standing in front of, by getting in their way all you're doing is creating a bottleneck and a crush. Fair enough if it's just a couple of bams but when it's at that level there is zero chance of being able to stop anyone.
  2. Trying to cultivate a collection, not many LPs at the moment - maybe 50-60. Mainly new pressings, but got a couple of interesting older ones. Bought a copy of The Queen Is Dead from a shop in Camden only to find it was a dodgy Polish bootleg which was bright yellow and out of order on side 1.
  3. Well lush/variations thereof. Thought it would have died out when Gavin and Stacy ended but unfortunately not.
  4. 1. The Boy With The Thorn In His Side 2. Headmaster Ritual 3. Bigmouth Strikes Again 4. Rubber Ring 5. Still Ill
  5. Managed to get a ticket to the gig in Wolverhampton if anyone else on here is going too.
  6. The Rolling Stones - Brown Sugar
  7. Simon and Garfunkel - Bridge Over Troubled Water
  8. Meatloaf - I Would Do Anything For Love
  9. 3 Dog Night - Joy To The World
  10. Boney M - Brown Girl In The Ring
  11. Talking Heads - Love → Building on Fire
  12. David Byrne rapping. The man is a chameleon.
  13. Seemingly every man/woman and their dugs are finishing uni at the moment so I'm being inundated with soppy statuses about how much they've changed and how it's been the time of their lives. One of my best mates posted this: And so it's over. Four years since I left the valley and moved to the capital, I have finished my time at uni. I have honestly had the time of my life and met so many brilliant folk in that time. Canny wait to see what lies ahead. Right now though, it's a Guinness Jesus wept.
  14. Tom Tom Club (Tina and Chris Frantz's side project) have some good stuff too.
  15. Only recently started listening to them properly, but Talking Heads are fast becoming one of my top 5 favourite bands. Remain in Light is up there with my favourite albums ever and Stop Making Sense is undoubtedly the best concert film ever made. Outside of his solo performances of Talking Heads songs, I haven't listened to an awful lot of David Byrne's solo stuff as of yet, any suggestions? Side note, this is a cracking cover:
  16. If you're going to do a shite cover Robbie, at least have the common decency to actually learn the correct lyrics you bellend. This is inexcusable. Boyzone, Gabrielle and fucking Heather Small on the same record as Lou Reed and Bowie. This is a maiming.
  17. Amazing stuff. I saw him in Sunderland last year and he was good, but f**k me he tore the roof off last night. The final third of the gig in particular was absolutely top drawer stuff. Got to hear a lot of my favourite lesser played songs, and the mass disco that accompanied Twist and Shout/Shout was absolutely brilliant. If I have half the energy that man has at 63 I'll be doing well. Further proof if proof were needed that Bruce and The Band are the best pound for pound live act to be found just about anywhere.
  18. According to the tickets doors are at 5 and show starts at 7.
  19. My reaction when I opened the post yesterday.
