  1. Big game at Beechwood Park tomorrow afternoon. Hurlford the visitors, have had a tremendous season, & will be confident of victory. Talbot have had a dream season. Super run in The William Hill Scottish Cup, & in the final of the Junior Cup. Very important 3 points on offer, Hurlford have played 6 games more, & are 10 points in front. Talbot are chasing, like the Posse on the tail of Butch Cassidy, & The Sundance Kid. Talbot 3-2 Hurlford is my prediction to get Talbot that bit closer.

Edited my post to say Alan Sneddon was MOM against Real Madrid.
  8. Larkhall Thistle 2018/2019 Thread

ALEX MORRISON - Best goalie to have played for the club, so he said. Sir Alex took him to St Mirren. ALAN SNEDDON - Was MOM playing for Celtic against Real Madrid not long after he left Gaswork Park. KEVIN McDONALD - Beith. Great defender, good pace & positional sense. JOHN CHALMERS - Left Gaswork Park far too early, same type of player as Kevin, but capable of scoring goals. DANNY MACKENZIE - Pollok left back, really good defender who gets up the park & delivers good crosses. Midfield DARREN CHRISTIE - Beith extremely talented & hard working right midfielder who scores important goals. MARTIN MULHEARN - Magnificent footballer, capable of leading any Junior team who has ever played. DEL ESPLIN - Rutherglen Glencairn midfielder playes the game with his head up, classy player with a bit of steel about him. JOHN SANNIGHAN - Thistle midfielder, footballing God. Strikers IAN PURDIE - Thistle brought him over from Bonkle, think he only played a few games, but he was the most explosive striker ever. Moved on to Aberdeen. SCOTT ANSON - Pollok striker, top quality hit man, would score a barrow load in that team. Team would warm up to Scottish Dance music, with The Bluebell Polka, by Jimmy Shand introducing bot teams into the pitch.

Big Mo would need to be the goalie. I’ll pick the team after The Jonnie Walker Show on Radio 2.

larky9, to help Jags to be a bit more competitive you have been given the power to pick 4 Thistle players from the past, & any 4 players playing in today’s game. Talbot players are unavailable. What would your selections be ?
  12. Todays scores 12/1

Talbot 3-1 Cumnock Swirling winds & driving rain made playing conditions very difficult. Talbot got off to a flyer & took an early lead when a clever move on the left saw Jamie Glasgow all alone inside the box, he rolled the ball across the Cumnock goal, where Dwayne Hyslop netted from close range. Cumnock were growing in confidence as the half wore on. New lad centre half Alan Murdoch, rose above the Talbot defence to nod home a corner from the left to get his team level after half an hours play. Half time Talbot 1-1 Cumnock Cumnock started well & had the ball in the Talbot net, but the ref awarded Talbot a throw in as the ball had left the field in the built up. Talbot brought on Graham Wilson, & Mark Shankland, for the last 15mns of the game. Both lads scored in the later stages to give Talbot a comfortable 3-1 victory. Mr William Wilson, & his assistants handled the hard fought game very well. MOM Stephen Wilson, give Talbot good width on the right, very creative, & hard working. Graham Gracie had a tough debut for Cumnock, picking up an injury late in the game & having to leave the field. But he will be top scorer for Cumnock at the end of the season.
