This is the most competent Dundee team I can remember for a long time. Really happy with Docherty and the signings, we just look so solid. It’s nice to feel like you’re solid at the back, good keeper, and if the strikers click like yesterday we’re capable of dishing out a doing. Good time to be a Dee! Early days, but hopefully we’ll get a cup run this year. League is always the priority, but a solid defence always gives a chance.

Yeh they checked for serious foul play rather than denying a goal scoring opportunity. The VAR replay showed they were focusing on the challenge itself, I’d guess the ref thought it was higher than it was. What a goal!

And it is. Would be raging if that was given as a red against us, definitely the right decision.

That red card decision seems slightly harsh here. Wouldn’t be surprised if VAR overturns it.

Given the volume of rain dens doesn’t look too bad in that clip I think? Hopefully game goes ahead.

I’ve worked places where the auto delete of messages was legally required exactly for the arse covering aspect of discovery in a lawsuit. Usually this covered instant messaging like WhatsApp with emails preserved (and always reminded that anything you sent by email could end up on the front pages). It’s wrong but is incredibly common place in business. Total shambles that it’s happening in government though. They’ll fall back on Covid being a strange time, everyone trying to be “agile” so they were using WhatsApp instead of more official means. Theres been a massive crackdown by the SEC in the US this year on banks using WhatsApp for official bank business, conveniently raising millions but officially because of the lack of regulatory control.

That’s a mental decision, there is no world in which he is blocking the keepers view. I also thought County were very unlucky to get their goal chopped off against us. Week in, week out, VAR continues to ruin football. Not a single player appeals for offside there.

Trevor Carson shouldn’t be spilling that let’s be honest. He’s got out of jail a little bit from VAR there. I’m not 100% convinced that’s enough interference, although it’ll be given all day along now.

We need Spain to drop points or we win by 8 goals more than they do over the remaining 2 games.

Massively well deserved. Guy has been great for us. He’ll go on to have a great career in the game.

He’s constantly mouthing off to the ref, regardless of whether he’s fouled or not. Maybe you get away with more of that at youth football, but he won’t every week here. He also has a bit of a habit of snapping at things, or diving in when he doesn’t have to. hopefully just him getting up to pace with the game up here, because otherwise he looks very good.

Beck looks good but will be booked (and possibly sent off) a lot this season. He needs to get his mouthiness under control, can’t be getting booked for dissent 35 minutes in.

I’ve seen quite a lot of roles like this. The Scottish government is hiring (or was) for a head of software engineering paying a rate that would be considered below average for a mid-senior developer (never mind someone to run the engineering strategy for a country). It’s almost impossible to hire highly qualified people when the private sector is paying double or more for equivalent roles (especially in something as specialised as IT).

There’s definitely a good feeling about the club just now. Still find some of the stuff frustrating (like Bonnyrigg tickets only being available in person) but the social media etc has taken a step up this season. Can’t wait for the real stuff to start.

For me it’s the gold and the sponsors that ruin it. I like the white and light blue.

Was always a big thing in my German office as well. People would start wearing a scarf indoors and you knew they’d be off for a few days as soon as you saw that. An Italian guy at my work was off for a week once because he “wore thin soled shoes on a cold marble floor” which obviously made him insanely ill.

The referee is not the reason Ayr lost 8-0 on aggregate. I was at both games (and the Falkirk one in the cup). Bullen struggles to see what’s happening and make changes in reaction. I’d be very disappointed if he’s the calibre of manager we end up appointing. Shown nothing at Ayr to suggest he’d do well at Dens.

Can’t see why Martindale would leave the security of the job he has at Livi to come to our basket case of a club. Must be a huge red flag to any prospective manager that we’ve sacked our previous one after winning the league.
