"You've got to have a strategy. You can't play 5 up front or you'll end up 3-0 down". No, just play 1 up front and end up 2-0 behind!!! Was i the only one who missed this apparent penalty we should have had? -

In what football universe do you take off an injured right winger playing in the left and replace him with a right back, leaving the left footed creative player playing right wing? Your two goals down so bring on a defender and ignore the two forwards on the bench. As soon as Kidd was called to go on, O'Hara have a shame of his head. Out of interest, who picks the team in the reserves seeing as they are fourth in the league? -

If my reading of Wiki is correct, we were third tier champions in 1979-80 when we just pipped the sleeping giants that are East Stirlingshire. 40 years since we were last this shit. -

Building a squad will be difficult. If we stay full time, we will be signing the cast off from spfl and championship youth teams and whatever mid 30s veterans and looking for one last season by the sea. loan signings are not the answer. We have to build a squad with a vision for the future -

Reading that Dobbie has done his hamstring and his season may be over. Not saying Queens are a one man team but he has scored 62% of their goals so must be a boon for us. -

Hope for the best but plan for the worst. If I was in Day's shoes I would have half an eye on playing in division 1 next season. While none of us want that, it would be foolish to not expect the odds of us going down being higher than us staying up. If we, and God hope we dont, go down we only have 4 current first team members under contract ( Paton, McShane, McLean and Petra). Add to that Mutch and Harrison (yes, he has another year) and that's it. I suspect some of the youngsters in the reserves will still be under contract. If Attracting players, with the obvious reduced budget, will be hard. Will we be looking at the annual old firm youth cast off that worked well for Livingston (Halkett and Gallagher to make two) or veteran journeymen (Baird going to Forfar). Many of the players in that league, all out with Faith I suspect, are part-time. Would we entertain the idea of signing part time players? We have in the past with Nicky Henderson springing to mind. Planning for next season has begun but the player we have under pre-contract can opt out of we are relegated. That being so, there was thought given on some part to us going down. -

Here's a thought. Maybe he's signed the Edge to be a striker. He did, afterall, try to convert Dallison to striker!! -

Reading the Ayr United website, it suggests they approached falkirk after being made aware he was available. Being available does not mean released. I suspect they approached and offered 18 months. Aero said aye and falkirk said aye and no money changed hands. Falkir k could have asked for money but it's a win win for all three parties if he just left -

When Allan Maitland took over as Clyde manager, he signed an entire team from the juniors and went on to win the league that season. -

Steven Craig came from Broxburn. With the big 8 with elite funding signing every youngster going and then dumping them when they hit 18, most end up in the juniors but are of a 'not bad' standard. -

Patience we don't need them till Saturday. Mind Gerrard is in playa de las americas with the lads just now. If Rudden ain't there, and Hardie is, then it's likely he will be back with us before the weekend -

See that Jamie Vardy. 2014/15 season. Only scored 6 goals in 34 appearances. He will never make it as a player with statistics like that. The thing about quoting narrow statistics is that the do not show how much a player contributes to the team. I recall that, back in Houston's day, o'hara was frequently brought on and players out wide, using his pace. -

Your argument is flawed. Saying he has only scored 1 in 26 games. Is that 26 full games of 90 minutes? Seeing as he rarely starts a game and features mostly from the bench, I would suggest that the total number of minutes is a lot less. when you have a figure for the average minutes on the field per goal and then compare that will other forwards maybe we will agree that his strike rate is rubbish. -

Thought McLean was outstanding. Chased everything and was always willing to support rudden. McKenna strolled the game albeit one mistake that almost cost us. Mitchell looked much more composed behind a comfortable defence. Thought Ray was winding us up bringing on muirhead at the death. Taking off Rudden at the end suggests that he is heading back the The Rangers. -

Dundee United appoint a former agent as Sporting Director to assist Neilson with signings. Have we heard this story somewhere before........
