  1. Agree. It raises questions about his integrity and credibility for me that he gave that answer. I'd be quite comfortable if he said he wanted to keep a rent going (like sandy Alexander on the ss), or keep all/most of the profits from the side developments. To suggest he's here out the goodness of his heart is fanciful and simply not true. That said, while I still have concerns, I hope some of these details will be clarified further over the coming weeks and we can move forward as a change is desperately needed at the top.
  2. Yeah, with the new astro pitch round the back, any structure would be limited in size which would in turn, limit any commercial facilities. We'll see, I'd love to see the ground finished in some capacity and for development around the stadium. I think the main point for me is that if they harp on about player sales, crowds and league positions as the plan to make money then there are major doubts about their credibility. Either way, I still fail to see where the return is on the investment here which is a concern.
  3. We have a great core support given the lack of success at the club but it's naive in the extreme to assume the numbers (of home supporters) would change drastically from Championship to Premiership, 6th place or otherwise. What would be the reasoning for a fourth stand? If the plans are around hotels and infrastructure as a potential return on investment then that is a more reasonable suggestion than making money on players sales and improved league position.
  4. We have his first ducking of a question. One pertaining to an offer to bridge the funding gap for the academy. He wasn't at the meeting so doesn't know about an offer of investment into the club of circa £200k... £200k to potentially solve a massive headache of what to do with our previously successful academy that they were considering scrapping mainly due to financial reasons... but he wasn't at that meeting so he has no idea, no minutes, no discussion about it afterwards amongst senior figures within the club. FFS... get these arseholes out of my club!!
  5. Kits are nice, however, the puma logo on the sleeve looks like it's leaping over the Falkirk wheel to attack the kelpies...
  6. I think what's worse here was that the keeper stepping off the line made no difference to the save as it was a tamely hit penalty. The basis for a retake then becomes questionable in the context of what advantage was actually gained by the infringement. The rules or the interpretation of the rules need changed as that, and other new rules (such as handball) are ruining the game.
  7. I've been binge-watching it this week. It's very good, not quite as good as the film for me but still excellent.
  8. I was placing bets on the 'what will happen between (x) minute and (x) minute' market in-play, trying to select 'goal', but there was a couple of points in the 2nd half where I couldnt keep up. Four goals in six minutes at one point. It was relentless although Thailand made last season's Falkirk team look like 1970's Brazil.
  9. I think what bothered me with that was that even as she made the decision, the ref looked as if she had no idea whether to give it or not.
  10. That's Brescia and Lecce promoted to serie a, Palermo consigned to the playoffs. Lecce with two consecutive promotions will be looking to emulate SPAL and consolidate themselves in the top flight after a few years in the wilderness.
  11. They're playing a call on sky sports that he made to his dad on the plane talking about how he was scared and it was falling to pieces. Very sad stuff indeed.
  12. Yet tonight's AGM will likely pass by with barely a whimper and Lang re-elected...
  13. I can't believe Lang is going to get re-elected tonight without challenge. Another low point in a season littered with them. If I wasn't so apathetic I'd be angry right now...
  14. Just when you think this season can't get any more grim. Disgusting behaviour by some utter cretins in our support. If they were in the main stand then surely it shouldn't be too hard to try and weed these morons out? Somebody must have heard/witnessed it as there was only, what, 100 fans or so in that stand? Anyone who heard abuse like that on Saturday and keeps quiet is just as complicit in the whole sorry affair in my opinion.
  15. that it wasnt as good as Ghostwatch...
  16. I'm actually surprised folk are not bothered by this. Even playing devil's advocate and we all agree a statement about supporting the manager is a good thing - why mentioned the funds are "substantial"? It's so naive and ill thought out and completely undermines our negotiating position. Well, the big deal is if we had a budget of 'X' in Janaury to bring in say 5 or 6 quality players that will keep us up, but now you add 10-15% to the cost of those players (due to us telling everyone how desperate we are to blow some cash) then you possibly cant get all the players you initially intended. It therefore directly affects whether we can "afford them".
  17. There was simply no need for a press release. Yes it's obvious we were going to strengthen but that could have been due to a small amount of funds being made available or through player departures. We have wasted money the past few seasons signing and freeing dross, we need to save every penny we can to get out of this mess. Telling everyone that we have significant funds available prior to negotiations is just laughable and ill advised. Some agents will see this as a change to squeeze us for more cash on a deal. We are now desperate for players and have money to spend - who do you think holds the power in that situation? If we dont want to spend the inflated add-ons (due to our foolish announcement) on better players then we will be looking at 3rd and 4th choice signings and we all know how that will end up. Making significant funds available to strengthen in January is a no brainer, announcing it publicly is amatuer nonsense.
  18. Hope not. There will be a balancing act to free up cash and with dross like Paton on a 2 year deal and harder to shift, tough decision might need to be made. However, Irving has shown enough to suggest he's worth holiding onto and hopefully he will stick around now that that Rayvolution has begun... Worth boting that Balatoni was also not good enough so it was also an easy decision to punt him.
  19. I agree that is nice and would do but I would prefer just a wee bit bigger. Not much just maybe another 4 or 5 rows to the terracing. Suppose it would be dictated by cost though. Yeah, it's AFC Fylde. It's maybe slightly small but an idea of what's possible. If there was a larger building at the back of it with offices/hotel/supercasino then that would maybe raise the height of the sightline visually without needing a bigger terracing. All pie in the sky at the moment tho, especially if we end up in the seaside leagues...
  20. Given there would be no need to build a full height stand, something like this along the side would be fine in my opinion. If some sort of functional/money making building can be incorporated into a slightly larger structure then fine. The problem we have is we need to fill the space but dont have a need for much more capacity in the stadium.
