  1. Michael Owen's argument here is mental. "Were they the better team when they beat Chelsea? Man City? Liverpool?" Na Michael, they just fluked everything. So did man City with the league. Liverpool are definitely the best.
  2. Yeah, Courtois will rightly take the main plaudits but Carvahal and Casimero were awesome for Madrid tonight.
  3. Stayed up and with Lecce back up there will be 3 southern teams next season.
  4. I know they are a wretched collection of sub-human scum... but that genuinely shocked me how quickly they all left the stadium.
  5. That's one of those I could possibly understand why it was given in real time but watching it back on VAR, I don't get why you'd give a pen as he lost the ball in the other direction.
  6. I would agree with most of that and it mirrored my own thinking, especially after the initial viewing. What I would say watching back the fight was that in general there wasn't loads of punches thrown. Re the scoring, I think for me we could all score rounds differently I think what was interesting though is that I watched the fight on Saturday and was gobsmacked at the outcome as I thought it was so one sided. Watching it again, I can see it was a much closer fight. I still think catterall gets major props for nullifying taylor and wouldn't argue if folk think he won the fight, I just scored it as I saw it and found it interesting to see how much closer that was to the scorecards given all the hyperbole after the fight.
  7. I gave Taylor 2, 3,4,7,9, 11 and 12. I noted that rounds 1,2,3,4 were 'close' and rounds 4 and 11 were 'very close'. When I started doing it I fully expected to just confirm how much Cattrall had been robbed so was surprised at how close it was. I see my card is very similar to Victor Loughlin so I feel a bit dead inside.
  8. I just rewatched the fight, turned the volume off and just watched from the perspective of scoring it. On Saturday I was convinced Catterall had won easily and only recalled taylor winning a few rounds. I also remember thinking that by the knockdown, taylor had only won 1 round at that point in the fight. However, this time round I thought the fight was much closer and when I totalled my scores, I had it 113-112 in favour of taylor. I have to say I was pretty shocked. Even yesterday I was slating taylor for having watched it back and thinking he'd won the fight. I thought he was deluded but it just goes to show how much you get swept up in the fight at the time.
  9. So what do folk think? Taylor inside the distance or a closer fight?
  10. 1-1 pen for barca. The handball rule needs looked at. Utterly mental pens getting awarded at the minute.
  11. Could understand why they wouldn't give a red but to not even give him a yellow was baffling. Scotland poor but Wales are so jammy. The kick just in before bouncing into touch for their try and biggars kick bouncing back of the bar leading to Russell's yellow.
  12. Man of the match tonight. Although it was only man utd so could debate that elite part.
  13. First time seeing Arbroath tonight, what a team. The complete antithesis of my own team (Falkirk). Dig, ability, character, a clear style, good manager, togetherness. Really hope they can hold onto 1st place come the end of the season.
  14. Bizarre ending to the Milan game there. 1-1 at home to Spezia, referee blew for a foul on the edge of the box on 91 mins despite the ball clearly rolling through to Messias who scored. Ref apologised realising he'd made a right c*nt of it. Great save from the Spezia keeper from the resulting free kick. He then made another great save from the corner, tipping the ball onto the bar. Then Spezia broke away to score in the 95th minute and win at the San siro for the first time in their history. Looks like milan aren't going to win the title on that kind of form. Great result for Spezia though.
  15. That would have been a more reasonable decision than chopping it off because Giroud was laying under a Napoli player. I really despair at what football has become with decisions like this. Awful stuff.
  16. Rangers and Celtic already have resources that dwarf all other clubs in the country. I find it utterly bizarre that even that starting advantage is not enough that they (well, potentially just rangers at the minute) would rack up such an overspend. Mental stuff. As aside, I'd like to think that even Falkirk could nab 1 league title over 9 years while racking up £100m debt. Hardly much to brag about.
  17. No surprises reading this tonight. I know it's already been said about boycotts etc but there appears to be a lack of motivation within the support to do something which I find bizarre. The summer chat about buying season tickets again as to so otherwise would "damage the club" no longer wash. How much more damage could be done given what has been on display for the past 5 years. Although it won't have a financial impact, I think mass boycotting the home games over the next few weeks would still send a visual message. I know people like going to games at the weekend but surely simply going down to the main stand and venting at the board instead, is at least as entertaining, if not moreso, than watching 90 mins at TFS just now?
  18. New managers, DoF's, and squads come and go through shambles after shambles. The one constant is the board. How they are not facing protests etc is beyond me. The board and ownership must sell and go, otherwise, nothing meaningful will change.
  19. I'm surprised they're so bitter about it as they have a better keeper now in Maignon.
  20. 3-1 now. Milan look on the verge of becoming a decent team again. Good mix of youth and experience in the squad and should be in the title hunt this year.
  21. All the managers have been shite lately anyway, maybe we're better off without one?
  22. Is there any plans for fans to pull together and let the board know how we feel as a collective? (With a focus on the board being the problem as opposed to chat about poor league form). Are there any plans to withold season ticket money? I think if nothing like this happens, we're just in for more of the same. It seems when the Deans and Fulston were there the fans didn't tolerate this kind of shit but now we just seem apathetic and plodding on the from one shambles to the next.
