Concern is that it’s unlikely for all three to go through the season without injuries suspensions - we’re also a bit light off the bench for centre mid. Talking of injuries - good piece on the web/socials with Grant Savoury - rehab etc. Looking like a March return.

If there's any Prem managers on a shoogly peg we might want to keep an eye on, I'd suggest Kettlewell... but for the record, I'm still on the RV bus. I disagree with some earlier chat though. If we're still struggling when the window opens, I wouldn't be massively surprised if there's a couple of additions to the squad.

Huge fan of Reid and Bannon. Nagging doubt that here, if anywhere on the pitch, the best thing for either one’s development would be a bit if experience alongside them.

Don’t know about the ‘why would you..’ but I do have some sympathy. An example yesterday would be maybe start with Healy/Hepburn and bring on Longridge to help see out the game… that just doesn’t seem to be our vibe. Not saying he’s completely blameless either - why’s that the 2nd week in a row they’ve been toilet in the 1st and only turned up in the 2nd half / why do we keep inviting crosses into the box under no pressure. Frustrating thing is we do still seem close to clicking… spreadsheets and process are never going to get you the performance that rovers dug out yesterday.

Good movement and Fox should do way better - but there’s absolutely zero pressure on that cross going in. When Veldman has a dig about this being men’s football it’s the likes of Healy that needs to take that on board.

Lots of chat, rightly, about game management and mad substitutions. Let’s not lose sight that this is 100% Bueker-ball, it’s not Veldman playing 4D chess. Bueker’s process is literally to launch in players out of their depth to aid their development. This is what Veldman is being directly instructed to do.

Feeling quite strange - kind of like I’ve ascended to some sort of blissed out zen-state that only exists just the other side of pure rage. Just astounding naivety, again. The ways we find to f**k up a game of football are simply insane.

Even if we had spades in the ground now, we wouldn't have a chance of confidently being ready for next season... the fact there's been zero progress tells you exactly where this sits in the list of priorities... If something happened with the current arrangement and we got turfed out of Hampden (again), we could get in temp stands pretty quickly... but that's another lot of needless expense..

Watching the highlights just reinforces how dominant we were. Pumped them 2-2. Paton’s had an absolute shocker - should have scored 4. Are we really having that as a foul on the keeper for the disallowed goal? Still - a massive step in the right direction. Rot stopped, much improved, now time to kick on and get points on the board.

In fairness it must be a pretty big distraction to the club at the moment... if I'm being even more generous it might even be impacting the players. If I'm being less forgiving, I hope we've no forms to fill in this week.

We were pootling along quite nicely until the wheels came off at Firhill and we've been shite since. Would be a nice bit of symmetry if this was the game where we managed to get a win and go on a run... but not holding out much hope.

I think he’s class. He should defo try that driving with the ball, trying to waltz through an entire opposition thing at least once a game. Only fear is that some players are unlucky with injuries - hope he’s not one of those.

I think a lot of this comes down to expectations. What do we actually reasonably expect from the team this season? What have we been told is the target? And hey - what has Veldman actually been tasked with? Is it just stay up this year, get some games in the legs and try and put a run together next season? Who knows. I’m my most optimistic moments, I can see this team starting to click and putting together some results. Flip side is an injury/ suspension to Spong and Paton and we’re snookered. Although anyone really think that if we’re still pish and seriously struggling in December the Lord won’t just splash the cash?

Was pretty shocked at the time but the more I think about the Tizzard sub the more I think it was the right call. That was the 3rd time he’d lost possession under zero pressure and there was no indication that it would be his last - you can bank on Airdrie targeting him for the rest of the game after that. Sore one but if it’s a lesson he learns it will be worth it over the course of his career and hopefully over the rest of the season. But a lot of this comes back to squad building… the fact that we sub a 20 year old and replace him with a 19 year old is wild.

Yeah “weeks away” that’s absolutely wild stuff. No mention of Tizzard in the injury update either? Not massively sure what to make of him being away getting his badges, although would be right interested to know who was taking the course. Huge stuff tomorrow. Already feels like the beginning of the end. Another shiter tomorrow and we’re careering towards the middle of the end.
