  1. Team selection was lightweight to start. 2 up front and a ghost at number 10 was batshit crazy. Maybe you take gamble on that tiny wee bit of quality that McKinstry hints at by playing him up front with Ruari - but adding McLeish was suicide.

But talk to me about the triple sub 5 mins into the 2nd half. Surely you do that at half time and make sure you’re set and everyone knows their job going out for the 2nd half.

    Subs 52 mins - 2nd goal 55, 3rd 59.

That’s a huge factor in how we fucked it today.

The B team's draw at Lochinch today confirms they're reserve league champions. Although winning those games is obviously less of a priority than player development (especially since we primarily fielded youth players in the competition), it'll be exciting to see how they all progress. There's a lot of exciting young talent at the club right now.

Beuker getting this boshed onto his LinkedIn pronto.

  3. Might be in the minority but I am hoping we've got some changes starting tonight. The first 11 has generally done great when it's mattered - but we need to be able to rely on more than that in tournament football to keep things fresh.

I'd be tempted to look beyond Tierney tonight. There's no way he's playing 3 / 4 games in a short space of time in the summer. We need a viable plan B.

  4. Entertaining game, some good attacking play from both, some questionable defending from both, some highly dubious refereeing.

Don’t think that foul should have been given in the run up to thistle 1st goal, think two of them were off side when the ball was flicked on (although Bannon obviously needs to do better), think the ref was desperate to give that handball.

QP goals both really well worked - great to see. Had my doubts about Sheridan but he brings loads to this team. Thought we maybe looked to go long a wee bit too much when he’s on the pitch - bit of an easy option - but good to be able to mix it up.

I reckon i'm probably the only one who still has faith that McKinstry will do a good turn by the end of the season. Thought he was playing a wee bit too deep at the weekend so would like to see the team go back to a front 3 with McKinstry on the left and Dom on the right.

My ideal team based on who is currently available would be:

    Ferrie

    Bannon Tizzard Wilson

    McPherson Thomson Welsh Scott

    Thomas Paton McKinstry

McKinstry is likely quite safe in that spot until Savoury is back fit unless the new lad Hinds shows a lot of promise over the next week or two in training.

I largely agree with this. Can maybe see us going with an extra midfielder against United tho.
