  1. I’ve been relaxed up until now, but if we don’t make any signing announcements today I think I may start worrying. I was lead to believe we’d signed players several weeks ago so I’ve either been given bad info, or the club are taking their sweet time.
  2. Not sure I’m overly excited by the idea but I feel like we’re a stick on to sign Steven Boyd from Alloa.
  3. Max Currie is a solid signing at this level. He did well enough for us the past couple of seasons. Quitongo is a bit of a mental one though. He’s quick and athletic but isn’t great defensively and doesn’t provide very much going forward. I can’t remember him putting in a decent cross or beating his man (with the exception of that one time he pulled down Stephen O’Donnell’s pants in the league cup) during his time at Airdrie! ETA: As the poster above, I fully expected him to pop up in League 2 this season.
  4. Oh go on then… 1. Dunfermline Athletic 2. Airdrieonians 3. Queen of the South 4. Falkirk 5. Montrose 6. Alloa Athletic 7. Kelty Hearts 8. Clyde 9. Edinburgh City 10. Peterhead
  5. We’ve apparently made “exciting” signings in the forward and left back area. I have no information beyond this unfortunately!
  6. If all players not mentioned sign up we’ve got the following foundations of a squad: Fordyce, Watson, Frizzell, McCabe, Gallagher, Kouder-Aissa, McGill & Smith I’d be delighted with that. Gives McCabe plenty room to bring in his own players to improve the team.
  7. I wouldn’t say our fan base disliked him. He was solid enough and reasonably versatile, he just want really a stand out. Any bad feeling that did exist probably was more to do with the ties with his dad Willie McKay at the time. Unsurprised to see that Ally Roy didn’t fare well. One of the most frustrating players I’ve ever watched play for Airdrie - an utter shitebag.
  8. Did Paul McKay sign a two year deal with you last season, or has he signed on again for another year? How has he been for you? Was really surprised to see him make the step up last season.
  9. Max Currie away by the looks of it. Not hugely disappointed with that. He was a competent league one GK but that’s about it.
  10. If we are going to go for a rookie manager, Rankin is the outstanding candidate IMO. Wouldn’t be disappointed with Mackinnon or Kettlewell.
  11. Wouldn’t surprise me if Murray decides to hoover up some of the top players in league one… seems a sensible singing policy.
  12. No chance Ballantyne has left Montrose for a managerless Airdrie. I’m sure he’ll have a few offers from further up the food chain.
  13. After the last few years I still can’t figure out if I like Murray or not. Last season was the only truly good season he’s overseen. The other three seasons I would have happily seen the back of him. From his perspective it’s probably the right time to move on, as if next season didn’t go well for him his record with Airdrie would look decidedly average and he wouldn’t have the same appeal. If he does go, fair play to him and good luck. My fear is that we lose the spine of the squad with him, and a full rebuild is required again.
  14. Just typical of the fortune Cove have had this season…. Megginson is fit enough to start after being carried off the park injured last weekend! Obviously not wishing injury on anybody, but you thought that may just be the glimmer of hope for us last week that he’d be missing for the rest of the season. Cmon the Spiders! Always liked QP [emoji1787]
  15. £18 for what must be the worst stream I’ve ever watched
  16. Clyde are comfortably one of the worst sides we’ve come across this season, possibly with the exception of East Fife. No idea how they’ve managed to maintain a mid table position. They have been David Goodwillie and ten other c*nts for the past few season, so fully expect them to drop down the league like a stone now they’re just 11 other c*nts. Then again they did manage to steal a point out our last game when it really should have been about 5-0 so you never know. It’s good to see Smith and Gabby are back. Hopefully Smith is fit to start as he’s become so important to how we play. I’d go: Currie Watson - Kerr - Fordyce - Paterson Frizzell - McCabe - McGill Easton Gallagher - Smith However I fully expect to see Agnew in from the start. My prediction: 3-1 to the Diamonds [emoji3532]
  17. Interesting that Easton won POTM for league one but wasn’t even nominated for our own POTM for January! Just shows you how good we’ve been collectively over the past few weeks. It’s a great time to be supporting Airdrie - let’s enjoy it while it lasts!
  18. Whatever the score is I hope at least it doesn’t go to extra time - I’m not sure our squad could take that with another game on Tuesday night!
  19. Looking forward to this one now. Given where we are in the league I’d be looking to give some of our fringe players a run out and get our important players rested for the Clyde game on Tuesday. However given we’re down to the bare bones we’ll be forced to field our strongest team unless we’re able to bring in a few reinforcements this week. We’ll probably pump this rabble tbh.
  20. You could tell that the Dumbarton players lost their head after Buchanan was booked for dissent after the first penalty. Very strange as it looked a pretty clear cut penalty from where I was sitting. The Dumbarton team appeared to be utterly raging at every decision after that. All the cards given were deserved IMO apart from Geggan’s second yellow where Currie played for it. To the old Dumbarton goalie coach: GIRFUY. Angry, angry man. To Paton and Duthie who gave it big licks at the equaliser: GIRFUY. To every man, woman and child in Dumbarton tonight: GIRFUY.
  21. That really was Airdrie vs. Neil Parry and 10 other c***s. We absolutely battered Clyde today, I can’t believe we didn’t score more. I think Clyde are definitely the worst side I’ve watched this season, there wasn’t a single player that stood out today. That midfield 3 of McInroy, Easton and McGill were exceptional. All three were dynamic, energetic and showed excellent composure on the ball. Easton in particular was superb. He ripped the pish out of that Clyde team all afternoon, he was outstanding for our second goal. If only we could play like that every week!
