A bit surprised to see Lang and Spencer drop a level. Probably an indication that we are not chucking silly money about and makes accusations of us being the Fife Gretna by some Bairns look a bit silly.
I don't know, but I would imagine that both (Spencer had an option in contract) would have been offered 1 year extension on similar terms so the fact they have both signed 2 year deals at Falkirk indicates one reason they have left. I'm not convinced either would have gone had we offered similar terms to Falkirk over the same length.
I don't think we will miss Spencer, we have ample cover in midfield and the return of Ross Matthews more than fills the gap. I don't think Spencer fitted the way Murray wants to play. That's not saying he's not a good player though but I think his wages will be better used elsewhere.
Lang however may be a bit of a loss. It really depends who we bring in at centre half. Just now there looks like a gaping hole but Murray indicated that we are in discussions with 2 experienced CH. If we get two experienced championship level centre halves then Lang will have been replaced. I've said before here that he was part of a defence that shipped some downright awful goals last season so is definitely an area that needed change if we are to progress.
I'm not sure how both will do at Falkirk. Their best periods in Rovers jerseys were when they had outstanding players alongside them (RH8 and Berra). I'm not sure either are as effective when they are meant to be the main man. They should be easily capable of dealing with League 1 though.
Lang and Spencer will do well for Falkirk. No offence to the rest of League 1. Only Hamilton, QoS and possibly Alloa can really challenge them. If they don’t outright win the title then it’ll be complete and utter failure again. McGlynn should consider retirement.

Speaking of Joma, think the design of the new Hibs kit with blue instead of green would make a nice Rovers kit.
I’d like us to decide on a style and stick with it. Just minor details to say it’s new. A return to the white sleeves and navy shirt. Maybe not for everyone. Just to have an identity that says that’s a Rovers strip, if you know what I mean.

Love to see Kyle Turner rock up at Starks. But the odds might be against us. You never know Failkirk might push out the boat for him, because they’re a maaaaassiiiiiive club.

Yea, no doubt. So sad, I used to love the FFP

Who's winning the league? Who's getting relegated?
1. Morton
2. Dundee Utd
3. Dunfermline
4. ICT
5. Raith
6. Queen's Park
7. Arbroath
8. Partick
9. Ayr
10. AirdrieThe favourites have to be Dundee Utd, Queens Park, ICT and Ayr for top 4
5 to 10th could be anyone. Hopefully we (Raith Rovers)stay well out of the relegation zone. I’m only going by last seasons placings……or form. Partick have lost players, their financial situation still be sorted too, I hope it is. The least detestable Glasgow club.

Some saw it was the mad man in Dalgety Bay that caused him to bail.
Like I said, I felt like a right Fanny after it. Just told him how I felt, at the time I was justified. Then later I felt that could’ve been better. So mad yes

Fair play to you. You must have given him food for thought and he heeded your advice.
Yea it was pretty much a month later. Never ever want to go back to that. I can still see the look on his face

That's a pity. I've seen and heard him being interviewed on a number of occasions and he always struck me as a decent and articulate man. He would have done a good job for us I imagine but saw through the Anelka experiment and baled out before he became too associated with him
I shudder to think back to that devastating period of our clubs history. I met A#%¥*a at a petrol station in Dalgety Bay, he had a couple of his erm “players” with him. Well anyway I told him and his cronies quite loudly to get F out of my club. He just looked in stunned silence, I did feel like a Fanny after it though

Just hope we’re not in another situation where signing defenders is a major problem. The priority was Forwards and Defenders. We’ve done/or doing 1. But we seem to struggle in defence. Heard a few names being bandied about, but haven’t heard anything else.

Are the initials KW and DN? They were two rumours I’d heard last week but nothing concrete so not sure if they are still possibilities.
PM me, my mind is ablaze with absolute nosiness.

I've heard we have offered terms to two CHs one very experienced the other is currently down south.
We defo need experience at the back, a level head and a calming influence for the youngsters.

Anybody ITK about the defensive situation. Good to see the team back together. This positivity is infectious.

Every time we've played Hamilton he's looked OK, but nothing spectacular, he was in a pretty poor team overall however.
Just had a read of the Falkirk thread. They're wetting the bed over potentially signing MacDonald and Lang claiming they're not good enough .
Absolute eh! Jammer will be thee best keeper in League 1 without a doubt. And Lang would totally stroll it. They’d rather sign Darren Brownlee. help ma boab

There’s not one striker in League 1 that will out wit Jammer. Those concerned he’s not the answer is fooling themselves. As for Lang, the same as above. Get a decent young CH beside him and you’ve got the nucleus of a good team. But hey why listen to a Fifer

Seems to be the in place amongst the Scottish Championship fraternity. Queen of the South have a captive player market open to them if they can stop being muck.
It’s probably to do with the relative peace and quiet they get with it being the arse end of nowhere

At least there's one thing us and Dunfermline fans can agree on and that is Falkirk are utter mutants with an absolute moon howling whinging fan base. They are also very shite at football which is highly amusing.
Hopefully that’s the only thing we’ll agree on. The thought of getting cosy with the Townies doesn’t bare thinking about

I get what your saying 100%, my main concern also is the defence that’s the priority now.
Onto McKay the biggest stumbling block in my opinion would be his wage demands and they would probably be out of our reach and being 34 he would have relocate from the highlands and he’s got a family etc
Yup that’s pretty much it. We’ve also done the signing players that love scoring against us routine too and failed miserably. Defence has to be the priority now.

If we never Signed Hamilton I would’ve looked at Billy McKay he’s set to leave Inverness as he’s been offered lesser terms or if there’s is an opportunity there to get him in I think it depends if one of Gullan or Ross leaves due to probably high wages he certainly knows how to score goals at this level
The truth of the matter is why can’t we go for McKay. Can we know for sure that Vaughan, Gullan and Ross will be injury free next season, it’s a lottery, sending one or two out on loan to prove their fitness and show a willingness to get back in to the team. We have no time for sentiment. I promise I’m not trying to be controversial especially as feelings run high regards to Lewis Vaughan. Believe me I’m a huge fan of the guy. It’s a time to be realistic.
My main concern is our defence.
