  1. Only made one late sub appearance last season, where if I remember correctly he was fouled for a last minute penalty equaliser against Falkirk. I think his appearance was more of a play from Brian Rice to show the directors we needed bodies in the door in the January window- but he had a good reputation in the reserves/youth teams.
  2. Id forgotten about that Buckie headline. Holding off on purchasing the ticket given the weeks weather forecast. Historically I seem to recall Fir Parks surface being prone, but like the VAR query maybe Im right behind with the times on that one too.
  3. I don't think there's any VAR in Scottish Cup til the Hampden games- semis and final.
  4. Agree- thought they were way better than that Peterhead shambles that visited last season for example.
  5. Appears this is the third successive issue after incidents with Montrose and Hamilton in previous home games. There are a swathe of youngsters around the 14/15 year old age group who attend home games from time to time- some are into the team but seems a few may be more interested in a scrap with fellow young teams from away fans. In the past its been restricted to the local games against Stirling and Falkirk whether it be home or away. I witnessed supporters walking a gauntlet from Forthbank up to the train station after the last game there a couple of months back. Word appears to be spreading that there's potential for scraps which some appear to be latching on to. If its a gang of 20 as mentioned Im not even convinced that all of these youngsters are even coming into the ground to watch games. Obviously 20 vs 2 isnt right in any circumstance and if it was my son on the receiving end Id want something done about it. Asked around but have yet to see a true account- the issue is that 99% of Alloa supporters head towards town after the games and all these incidents are all happening at the "away" side of the ground which directly leads out of Alloa. This type of stuff needs to be cut out- decent fans can certainly self police in the ground but as I say, difficult after matches where most folk head back into the town centre absolutely none the wiser.
  6. You'd like to think Rodden isn't allowed to leave if the Wales and Roy extensions weren't progressing.
  7. I do think PJ has come back a lot stronger since his injury, and he's helped improve the stability of the backline. But for every few good days he has, he is still capable of a game like Dunbar where he couldn't catch a cold. A push for his place would be beneficial. And for all the tremendous entertainment that Ogayi provides, I'm not sure the manager would fancy playing him. Rice was more of a romantic, Andy a bit more pragmatic I think.
  8. On a good day maybe Probably quite inevitable Rodden would go. His opportunities likely to be limited with Sammon and Roy ahead in the pecking order. I liked Rodden and could produce on his day- always hungry and put in a ton of work. Our squad is pretty large, so if a few more leave to get more football then may pave the way to perhaps bring in less numbers but higher quality.
  9. Cannon on loan at Benburb I think. Also got Donnelly to come back in(hopefully) so there's plenty options in the squad as it is.
  10. Keep Bobby Wales, transfer window sorted. The squad is massive so makes sense that we need outs before ins. No surprise to me either that Andy happy with the squad and wants to work with what he's got. Happy to leave him to it, because whatever he's doing is working.
  11. I never buy tickets until I'm literally walking to the match, but I'd be chasing Kelty for the refund. I'm sure the fanbase Ts and Cs state your contract is with the club, and they are acting as agents for the clubs services. Better joy that way, and should be able to get a full response from Kelty this week now that public holidays are done.
  12. Old Brewery and Station Bar within 5-10 mins walk of ground, both should have the early kick off football on.
  13. The away win at league leaders Hamilton that December was a great day out- Daryl Meggatt getting the winner. It tailed off in January but an absolutely brilliant first half of that season where you felt we could give anyone a game. Hard to believe a decade has passed.
  14. He's registered as a player for this season so likely remain that way in case of emergencies. Doubt he'll play other than to cover injuries/suspensions though.
  15. If i look at East Fife highlights at Dunbar looks like the travelling support just congregated in a corner. I was tempted by Hospitality at 32 quid too.
  16. The main hospitality guests pick it, so it's always a mixed bag rather than an assessment with any real accuracy.
  17. Darren Young was offered the job in the past when he was Albion Rovers manager but Rovers wanted a mental compensation fee at the time. He's done a really good job at Stirling but similarly I'd be pretty surprised if he ups sticks and leaves his current gig for Alloa now.
  18. Buchanans Mum came over to me during the game and asked who is Kev who does the podcast. Pointed you out and hoped I hadn't got you in trouble
  19. Dunbar in November will no doubt be a bit chilly, but nice to get something different with the draw. Will be a ground very few have been to in the past so another to tick off the list. Despite our bad run of form we *should* really have more than enough to get through.
  20. Martyns talking about the team at the turn of the millennium under Hendrie/Christie. Mike started his involvement in the club a few years later, eventually becoming chairman 2007.
  21. The initial offence on Lyons may have occurred outside the box but I thought it looked a clear penalty at the time from the stand. Its pretty astonishing that the linesman missed the Gardyne handball. Definitely deserved a draw at least from the game but Montrose probably due a win over us after so long. Second half performance was pretty good, but still a bleak end to the first quarter.
  22. Taylor Steven coming on to a game a wee bit and starting to settle in. He was decent at both Hamilton and Annan in past 2 weeks.
