  1. I should know better than to assume something has slipped under the mighty Kennie's radar !!
  2. Except Kennie's missed out one cryptic clue. Following his formula, you've got both Benburb and Rossvale home on Wed 31st July. But Rossvale have now moved to share at New Tinto of course...
  3. Will your new plastic be ready in time for the Home leg of this?
  4. FC Santa Claus have packed in. They groundshared at the same stadium RoPS use, but came bottom of their area group of the bottom (4th) division in 2018, and decided to just be a girls' football outfit for 2019. I think they still cash in on souvenir shirts / hats etc with their logo.
  5. Now a week earlier - Friday 7th
  6. Great photos. Note though that this one was 3-5, not 2-5. Heston Rovers goals on 13min (1-0), 25min (2-1) and 41 min (3-1). Edusport 19min (1-1), 42min (3-2 : HT score), 54min (3-3), 58min (3-4) and 90min (3-5).
  7. This happening? I'd've expected continuing with McKenna Park for that last match, leaving moving back until next season.
  8. Wednesday April 10th, Vale of Leithen 0-3 BSC Glasgow, displaced to Pennypit, I headcounted 51 of us.
  9. Friday 5th April, Annan Athletic SoSFL 0-3 St Cuthbert Wanderers. I headcounted 33 including kids. Although there should be an 'official' attendance since a gate was being taken - the only way in for spectators was by walking through the players' tunnel (!) at the pitch end of which £2 was collected. Home keeper sent off at 0-1 for deliberate handball, no sub keeper so an outfield player put on the gloves. Handbags near the end with one from each side also getting an early bath.
  10. Wed 27 March, Creetown 1-5 Nithsdale, played under lights at St Cuthbert Wanderers. My headcount was 30 of us.
  11. BUMP Sat 30th March v Cumnock - at New Tinto (even though Maryhill are Away) any word on intended venues for the remainder? : Sat 13th April v Renfrew (Maryhill have no game, Benburb are Away) Sat 20th April v Pollok (Maryhill and Benburb both have Aways) Wed 1 May v Rob Roy (Maryhill have no game, Benburb are Away) Sat 4 May v Troon (Maryhill have no game, Benburb are Home) with H to Auchinleck and H to Beith both TBA Thanks
  12. Next home game (Saturday 30th March, v Cumnock) is at Benburb, and with a 3:15pm KO. No surprise given the state of the mudbath handed back to Maryhill after the Cup replay! Anybody know if it's just this one that's going to New Tinto, or has that now become 'home' for the remainder of the season? cheers
  13. Using the same Recreation Park ground on the northern edge of town as the current Insch team play on in the Aberdeenshire Amateurs. It's one of the better AAFA venues but wouldn't pass the criteria for today's Juniors. Insch Juniors finished third in the 1991-92 season.
  14. Saturday 11th August, 3:30pm KO at Ochilview, Conference C, Stirling University (EoS) 2-6 Camelon [1-0 HT] - my representative headcount was 67. No gate taken, wide open and free to walk in. Numbers fluctuated a bit with some folks wandering in late and some wandering out early, so difficult to be exact.
  15. and Newmains. Also, Blantyre Vics' characterfully dilapidated enclosure has been deemed unsafe - demolished, leaving no cover there either.
  16. Has the venue been decided yet for Saturday 11th August - home vs Newtongrange Star in the Alex Jack Cup? At Camelon again? (they don't have a home game that day). Thanks in advance.
  17. Just now back home in the NorthEast after an enjoyable full day out to this one, by trains (to Edinburgh then to Lockerbie, all on the bargain Scotrail Club50 £17 return deal) and buses (changing in Dumfries). Stepped out of the house at 6am, to arrive just five minutes before kick-off, but in good time for the minute's silence for the young player from Nithsdale Wanderers. Wigtown played really well for a side that had just been assembled - as evidenced by a chat with the captain's wife who said that he hadn't previously been attached to Wigtown nor to any other club. The Wigtown teamsheet listed 22 players with registration numbers, not just today's 11 + 2 subs, so that's a positive indication for competing fully next season. Wigtown took the lead just before the half hour and were looking good. A shame then that they not only conceded an equaliser just before the break but also one in first half stoppage time, to go in 1-2 down - undeserved! Wigtown held their own for half an hour of the second period before conceding three in the last 15 minutes to make the scoreline seem more one-sided than the match actually was. I was particularly impressed by the keeper, who made some sharp saves. He didn't deserve to be picking the ball out of the back of his net five times today. A pleasant set-up at Blairmount Park, especially when approached on foot from the town centre bus stop via a path through the woods. I headcounted 42 watching, one of whom was a good pal who had driven up from Leicestershire for this match and who kindly dropped me off at Lockerbie station on his way back, thereby permitting me to get an earlier than planned train and thereby an onward one that went all the way home - I had been expecting the last leg of this trek to have been the 'delights' of a Night Bus. All the very best for Wigtown's return next season.
  18. Friday update please - I'm hearing Ayrshire has been hit by snow with Saturday's matches there being unlikely to survive. All OK further south in Newton Stewart ? And if somebody could post on here on Saturday morning too, I'd appreciate it - always a risk that conditions could be OK today but change overnight. Thanks everybody.
  19. After it was Off due to snow cover on the Newton Stewart 3G on 20th January, it's the second attempt at Wigtown v Lochmaben this Saturday, 10th Feb. I'll be making the public-transport trek down from the North East and back again in a day and I've got a mate driving up & back in a day from deepest Englandshire. Any snow-cover risk again? Same as last time there's a Friday night Newton Stewart FC game on it as a useful indicator of whether all should be good for the Saturday. Thanks in advance for any status updates from anybody local. Looking forward to it.
  20. Wigtown got a HOME draw in R2 of the Southern Counties FA Challenge Cup, for their one match of the season (unless they progress, of course). vs Lochmaben at Trammandford Park, 2pm Saturday 20th January.
  21. Works at the new ground apparently had an unforeseen interruption due to there being a bird's nest or some such, which these days triggers a shut down until the little darlings have left. It was all still just earthworks when I saw over the fence from the top deck of a bus, but that was back at the end of September.
  22. Wigtown v Gala has disappeared off the SoSFL fixture page for Saturday 16th Sept (it's still on the EoSFL's fixture list though). Have Wigtown decided to not bother, now that HJ has clarified that it's only the other Challenge Cup in which they're obliged to participate? With it (probably) being the first Saturday of the Scotrail Club 50 autumn flat fare deal (£17 return anywhere in Scotland), I was seriously looking at trying to get to this one as a just-about-doable day trip from Aberdeenshire.
  23. Thanks for the clarity HJ. All too much of a Challenge for my little brain. So it's only the January one that W&B 'have to' find a scratch team for. But it would of course be great to see them fulfilling the September one too.
