  1. Turned out I didn't have time to stay and grab a bite so no loss. Very 'meh' game in a really poor stadium. Not quite as awful as I thought, but still unacceptable at this level. Draw probably about right on balance, neither team quite good enough to win. Think that finally nails our season shut, and even if Edinburgh finish 4th I don't think they'll threaten in the playoffs. Meh.
  2. Bought a ticket for the third row tomorrow and hoping for the least-worst view, as it were. Any recommendations for food near the ground?
  3. Congrats Pars. Barring an utter Morton job, that's the league done. I thought Dunfermline looked fairly unflustered for around an hour and made a total arse of our backline several times, only to somehow stop playing for the last 15/20 minutes and almost let us back in. If we'd pinched a second in that flurry we had going forward, I'm fairly sure we'd have squared the game. I hope SP plays the XI that finished the game next Saturday rather than the one that started it, because we looked far better after the subs. Machado has done enough to get a start, and Lyons needs to go back in. If only we'd actually had a RB this season......
  4. Thanks to AVFTT for reminding us all just how ghastly Gr£tna were. Revolting.
  5. Probably calculating that the move isn't worth it regarding shifting hospitality I'd suspect. I'd have personally preferred tonight - don't think we've had a Friday nighter since the Elgin game that nearly got fogged off (also before a Scotland game IIRC).
  6. I miss Indian Cottage for this purpose. 1-1 draw, btw
  7. Between his spell with us and this stint at Peterhead I'd be amazed if his win percentage is much north of 10-12%. Complete skipfire of a season at Balmoor - chairman has to take some blame surely?
  8. Beeb either have to reverse ferret or tomorrow's show will just be voiceover and snippets from local radio/5 live commentary teams at best. An absolute omnishambles, this.
  9. If I've heard right, the BC is now Indian owned and does a cracking curry. Pedantry alert, but Hornblower is in Gourdon - only dined once when I lived there and got food poisoning.....
  10. Not sure I've ever felt as ambivalent about a 2-0 win. First sighting of Clyde this season and don't think it really matters who between you and Peterhead finish 9th, both teams are rank rotten and 99.9% going doon. Brutal.
  11. Damning indictment on both teams that watching the bunnet implode has been more entertaining than the game.
  12. Quite some going by the SNP just now, 15 years of relatively tight discipline/collective responsibilty being utterly shredded in barely 10 days. Don't think whoever wins of these three is going to last terribly long in charge.
  13. I saw Jeffries at the Lemon Tree around 2009 I think - one of the most savage 75/80 minutes I've seen from anyone. Madelene McCann jokes at a time no-one would dare touch it IIRC. Don't tend to go to muchoff my own back nowadays, usually the missus picks them now. I think Gary Meikle in May at the Music Hall is next.
  14. Our best and worst qualities on show yesterday, really - kept fighting away and grabbed a point at the end (good) but absolutley gaping holes in midfield again (bad). We've been very untidy this season. Injury to Kerr looks a sore one.
  15. Definite feeling of jumping before she might have been pushed. At least she had the self awareness to go, unlike the spaffer who was dragged out kicking and screaming. YMMV, but if independence is actually going to happen any time soon then the cautious softly-softly approach has to go and the SNP need a rottweiler type to take over and go in pell mell, but I'm not entirely sure they have one, most of the likely candidates just scream continuity.
  16. Was up at Locos today with the Mo idle - Strathspey are jaw-droppingly bad and lucky to only ship 4. You could make a decent montage of their comedy brand of defending with the Benny Hill music played over it, and any licensed team that eventually gets a chance should be kebabing them.
  17. Now has a test ton for them as well. Chanderpaul Jnr getting a double as well on a bit of a road in Bulawayo.
  18. Urgh, next, etc. The good stuff first: we did create chances and looked fine for the first half hour (don't think the Pars really woke up until then) and carried on scrapping right until the end after the game had gone. I know you should expect that anyway, but on a day like today where nothing really came off, it would have been easy to chuck it at 0-2. The bad and ugly: lack of an RB is still a problem, we're leaving our arses flapping in the breeze there for the rest of this season. Midfield still too easily bullied off the ball. Second goal should not have been allowed to happen, well moved though it was in the end. Biggest concern: I'm becoming increasingly unsure whether McAllister is a) rightly bemoaning lack of service or b) not being as clinical as we expect when he does get it. Came away today thinking 6th place is probably our lot this year.
  19. I briefly worked in/around that office around 10 years ago - there was such a big backlog that often you'd get off as they couldn't turn the appeals around within the statutory deadlines never mind chase the fines themselves. Not sure how they are now. On the other hand, the bus lanes are done on automated CCTV capture and have far less 'admin' to them so chances of getting away with those are very slim.
  20. Machado is a properly off piste Elijah Simpson-esque signing. Hope's he's better than that. Very meh window so far.
  21. Yogi Hughes to turn those soft primadonnas into 'guid oanest luddies' - is it April 1st?
  22. Not travelling with much optimism here, but finally ticking off the ground at least. Recommendations for parking?
