  1. I think this was Clyde's biggest away win since the 6-1 win at Brockville on the soaking wet night of 05 March 2002. Good stuff but this must be maintained to have even a chance of staying in the league for next season. Good to see the team back in white shirts and black shorts. Dressing this season's team in red jerseys because that's what the great teams of the mid 1950s wore was just daft in my opinion. I assume it was last year's home kit dug out of the laundry, with no #99 for Allan, forcing him to wear Ross Cunningham's old #10 jersey.
  2. Are Alloa still taking cash at the gate? Or have they gone the way of some dickhead clubs (eg Airdrie) by attempting to force cashless on fans?
  3. Is the food stall boycott continuing for this game? I hadn't twigged it was in place for the previous home match but it is a good way to protest. It gives NLC a financial hit and is non-aggressive payback to them for the cowardly statement made on 3 March. If the club can arrange for the unsold stock to be delivered to the desk of Des Murray on Monday morning then so much the better. As for the game, not particularly optimistic in spite of East Fife's poor away form. One win in the calendar year of 2022 is a pathetic stat.
  4. The mob have had their say on DGW so I'll have mine too. While I was not a particular fan of the guy and he has undoubtedly done some bad things in the past his general behaviour while at Clyde has been exemplary. The mob are saying "he wouldn't be anywhere near my kids" and yet before the home game v QP on 22 January he was fist-bumping young fans at the tunnel and posing for selfies with them. Not the behaviour I'd associate with a monster. I truly believe Goodwillie is not only a fine player, but a reformed character too. I thought that given time Raith Rovers and Clyde would have resolved the DGW situation between them. Unfortunately some clown from NLC has chosen to publish an aggressively-worded letter before Clyde could even respond. Weak arguments from a coward who can't even put their name to their bile. It's added unnecessary heat to tomorrow's game. If NLC are that moralistic, that outraged, why aren't they evicting Clyde from Broadwood right now? I know. It would leave them with an expensive white elephant on their hands. Before you do anything hasty, please consider some of the good things Clyde FC does like backing the excellent Suicide Prevention charity and running worthy causes like The Clyde Foundation and Clyde Powerchair FC. Tomorrow we've organised a collection for those affected by the Ukraine crisis. We're not all bad. As for tomorrow the goalkeeping position is a concern. The match preview isn't on the site yet so I don't know if Parry is fit or not. I thought JB-H did quite well last Saturday but obviously got clobbered near the end. On a lighter note tomorrow is the twentieth anniversary of one of my favourite Clyde games. 6-1 away to Falkirk at Brockville, midweek in the pissing rain with hat tricks from Carrots and Leigh Hinds. I don't expect a repeat tomorrow sadly but whatever happens ... a treasured memory.
  5. Where to park at Recreation Park (to give it it's correct name) these days? It's been a while since I was last there and the blaes area where we used to park (between the ground and the fire station) now has a Lidl on it. Think the main entertainment from our point of view will come from the Hutton-baiting. He is rather sensitive.
  6. Finally we get some actual names suggested for a successor so thanks for that, Ocelot. Of the names you mention most of them have recently had bad endings at their most recent club. MacPherson certainly has lots of managerial experience by now so who knows, he may be a possibility. I'd favour someone with experience of managing at our level over a leftfield appointment any day of the week.
  7. Not ridiculous at all. It's an obvious, logical question which the witch-hunters on here conveniently ignore. Thanks for the list of potential successors. Have moved to the Clyde FC Season 2021-22 thread for further discussion.
  8. I've genuinely never heard of him. I assure you he would not confront me.
  9. I'm not a cheerleader for Danny Lennon or any other manager sunshine. As for the abuse handed out to other managers this season - that's impossible to quantify and in any case two wrongs don't make a right. Verbal abuse doesn't achieve anything, just saying. So you stick to your bullshitting and let others do as they wish.
  10. Let's take the positives from this. Rescuing a draw from 0-2 down feels far better than squandering a 2-0 lead. We maintained the gap over East Fife and closed up on Dumbarton by a point. We play a team with a naive manager who we have already beaten in 2021 next so the possibility of getting out of the play off position next Saturday is there. While I agree that Lennon's recruitment and tactics have been questionable this season haranguing him during the game won't achieve anything. Get off his case. Many have said DL /AM should go now. And replace them with whom exactly? Why was the scorer of Peterhead's first goal (name escapes me) not booked for a confrontational celebration in front of the Clyde fans? Here's hoping Ross Cunningham is okay. He looked to be in serious pain when being put on the stretcher.
  11. No joke, my trip meter read 55.5 as I arrived home today. My car is gloating at me.
  12. Forfar away shirt looks to be fawn in colour. Most unusual. Mitchell wearing yellow doesn't help. Don't goalkeepers have to wear kits distinct from each other and from the outfield players of both teams? The fawn shirt is for sale on FAFC's website for a bargain £12.99 if anyone's interested.
