  1. Falkirk not the worst venue but it does have its flaws.
  2. Id think every Club would want it on grass if poss. Fir Park wouldnt be a bad shout. Hamilton has the West so dont think Scottish should be there aswell. It'll probly boil down to what is available though.
  3. Definetely not a touchy point, Point here is regardless of if Fallin have had times where they have struggled they have always had teams playing ammie football. So there history is about a small mining village who play out of there local pub (Fallin Miners Welfare) , its about a bringing that local community together and giving something for them to cheer about. The Club is part of the village , like most ammie teams so we focus on that and we'll enjoy the good times and the bad.
  4. Behave yourself m8. Team are u gonna be cheering on next season btw, a hear ur current team are on the brink!! Fallin are like many ammie teams , theyve had there tough times, now they are in a position to win the East for the 4th time. That is a fact!
  5. No m8 allways been a Fallin, in another East final now.
  6. Well why even bother to mention it then. Fallin is a mining village thats amateur Football Club has won the EOS Cup 3 times. They have had amateur teams at Sat/Sun over many years some of the teams have done well some not so. Hope that answers ur question.
  7. Seems a bit extreme to go to that length for an astro m8 but if u gey through suppose itll be worth it!!
  8. Sounds like someone in Ayrshire doesnt want u to play there mate.
  9. Surely u would have booked the park in advance if it meant that much to u? Everyone knows the Scottish wkds in advance so seems like a big error on ur part. Book it for next wkd and u shud be fine as grass wont be on this wk.
  10. On a very good run the now m8.
  11. Not looking for this thread to get into a slagging match lads. To look at it from a team/league perspective in terms of comparison, the Central league is considered to have the stronger teams (down to opinions) , imo next season the Central Premier will potentially be the most competitve its been in a long time with what looks like the inclusion of Oban/Gartcosh/Castlemilk. I would expect 2 out they 3 to be in it anyway. With this in mind, these teams will get stronger due to being able to draw players who will want to play in a competitve league. Other 'big' clubs from other leagues will look at that and if they have any ambition will want to play in that environment. What im trying to say is that the more big Clubs that continue to move on to ur Central/Caley leagues means the other leagues are falling behind hence why they should be looking to come together in some capacity. Surely the League Committees have ideas in mind to bring the Ammie game forward? Im no believing they r that set in there ways that they dont think change has to happen sooner than later!!
  12. Would also reduce the ever increasing cost aswell. Maybe adopting a similar season to the 35s and playing March-oct may work? Its another idea that I think needs looked at.
  13. Not sure if theres any thruth in it but seen Oban mentioned as possibly looking at the wosfl pyramid?
  14. Whether ur a coach/player or supporter u want to be involved in big games, games that really matter and get the best out of u. I feel if this kind of thing was to move forward with a if u like tier system, u would find there would be more if these games for alot more teams regardless of there level.
  15. Only possible if the governing bodies r willing to look at change. I only used Caley/Central as an example but I do think that has the best potential to make a massive difference in the Ammie game. Both leagues have some top teams and the prospect of a super league housing these teams would be imo great for our game.
  16. The flip side of being in the lower tiers is that u would in theory be playing against teams of a similar standard/ability which in turn would make it a more competitive league and with the possibility of possibly winning more games and challenging for trophies. There are always going to be bigger/better teams that is the case at all levels of the game, unfortunately the game cant be held back because potentially some teams may struggle, that is life at the end if the day. Regards the Scottish & west comps, dont see it affecting them tbh, they will still have there appeal imo. I think there is definetely a opportunity for the Ammie game to step up here with what looks like the inevitable demise of the Junior game, it wouldnt happen overnight but with the proper changes in structure u could have game that is thriving in a few years. Do nothing and I really fear the worst long term.
  17. With all that is going on in Junior football the now with quite a few teams from the West expressing desire's to join the pyramid in a potential WOSFL, surely that could well be the end for the Junior game? What then for the future of the Ammie game? With the Ammie game seemingly in decline also it must be time for the powers that be to look at ways of re energizing our game? The answers on how they do it won't be easy to find but the time is coming for change I feel. One thing I would suggest would be for Leagues to merge together. Central & Caley for example, say between them they got 60 teams split over 4 leagues, 14 team Super League, 14 team Premier League, and 1st/2nd divs made up of 16 teams each. Surely this would be a very attractive scenario for all teams/players and it would give u balanced and competitive leagues. I dont know the politics involved with committees etc and if something like this would even get considered as an idea but for me it would definetely be an exciting prospect. Personally dont think the ammie game can go on in its current state and expect things to pick up, it has to make changes. Thoughts anyone?
  18. The Drum are a reletively young side and have a few very good attacking players. They will have a go thats for sure! Dont know anything about Fintry, heard its mainly the Douglas team thst put Colville out couple seasons ago? If case theyll be no mugs. Think that all 4 ties will be reletively close affairs, wouldnt be surprised if a replay or 2 is needed. Eastfield definetely the team to beat, starting to motor now and they have the best squad of players imo. Be surprised if they dont win it.
  19. What age is Miller? Seen him a few times in the Amateurs and he can defo play but with that he has a great work ethic. Has a swagger about him aswell which I like and u know hes gonna back it up for his team.
  20. Hink they were playing a 235 the day.
  21. There was a pattern of desperation today thats for sure, think the shout at 1 point from big kiddo was can we get a bit if shape here, they were all over the place!! Credit where its due though, there through and thats what matters I suppose. They wont go any further though. If Shortlees have Knapp available for that 1/4 final it will be a canter for them.
