  1. It's now looking like one of Bonnyrigg, Stranraer or Clyde to finish in bottom position. It's still to early to predict but FWIW I'd rather it was Bonnyrigg; not because I have anything against them - far from it - but because I feel that they will adapt far better to life outside the senior divisions than the other two. Of course there's no guarantee that any of them would drop out but I'd fear for Clyde and Stranraer if they did. But if we do see change I'd rather Brechin returned at least to prove it can be done.
  2. I'll gladly join the chorus for Mikey Ruth but today Mark Durnan was a colossus at the back, and his influence on Gallagher Lennon is evident. Apart from his defensive duties at one point he produced perhaps the longest header I've ever seen, and against a gale at that. Between the park and the weather it was never going to be pretty, and tbh the result was never much in doubt either, which should be a serious worry for Bonnyrigg. They look devoid of both confidence and a cutting edge and that's a grim combo at this stage in the season. We need to keep going and build some momentum from here on in. We're doing OK right now and Aaron Lynas, Cian Newbury, young Lennon and Tony all gave us a shift today. Having a fit Kalvin Orsi back would be a bonus.
  3. Maybe a bit early to bin the mower and the garden forks. Never mind the Premier Division considering ditching the plastic. https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/24201307.ban-toxic-3g-crumb-rubber-pitches-scotland-says-report/
  4. There will only be one winner here, but it won't be football.
  5. I was there and I don't disagree with any of that. What's probably happened here is that a group of bright young things in the Labour policy laboratory have hit on this zinger in the hope that it tickles the fancy of your average Daily Express reader. I'm surprised a model Spitfire hasn't been thrown in.
  6. Indeed. I'm more bothered about that nice Mr Wishart trying to protect precious Perthshire sensibilities. The dry boak springs to mind.
  7. It will not be much of a laugh if Stenny roll up the following Saturday to lift the title accompanied by more members of the media than normal.
  8. You just look after your own game, because we are becoming the great unpredictables. Whilst Bonnyrigg have never beaten us in a league game this slide of theirs can't go on forever. But if we perform we can win this. So aye, we'll do you a favour
  9. It's an academic question because it already IS biased. For example, in an interesting take on how two wrongs don't make a right The Herald newspaper boasts a 'Rangers Reporter' and a 'Celtic Reporter', and the rest of us can lump it. Your dissertation should carry a central theme on how with very few exceptions all contemporary media prioritises reader views and clicks, listener numbers and ensuing advertising-driven revenues over providing balanced, informative content. With Radio Clyde in a league of its own.
  10. I've said for years that for a sizeable and politically lazy percentage of the electorate, and especially the Scottish one, that simple word 'Labour' translates into voting levels unwarranted by the contemporary party's policies. Simply not being the Tories doesn't cut it.
  11. Liverpool got exactly what they deserved.
  12. Klopp should boot every Liverpool outfield player's arse for this going to extra time.
  13. Re James Graham, I recently compared him to Brian Gallagher, aka 'Galaxy' of the late 1970's. He had pace to burn too, and you never knew exactly what he was going to do - out of ten chances he'd convert two or three and at least one of the remainder would go out for a shy. And his partnership with Raymond Blair was easily our fastest strike force in living memory.
  14. Thank you, but how the feck did I forget that one ? And what a strange sequence - two 6-2 away scorelines five months apart and then an interval of nearly 53 years to the next one
  15. In stark contrast, I've just read about an episode at New Dungheap Park in which Clyde's Scullion was spat on by someone in the home support and (understandably but very foolishly) decided to respond in kind. So if you prefer your fitba loutish or skinny latte, League Two has something for you folks.
  16. Whilst you're here, was that our first 6-2 win away from home since April 27th 1971 at Cliftonhill ?
  17. How are Scotland still within touching distance here ?
  18. Great result, well done Sons. First league win over the Spartans and a very emphatic one.
  19. Help ma Boab. Just lay that AstroTurf pitch and send me the bill.
