  1. Aye, but there's a bit of a difference in failing to walk through an open door and strapping yourself to a tree, arse-oot Deliverance style.
  2. Having read Jim Duffy's comments they come over more as a bald statement of fact grounded in realism rather than a counsel of despair. None of us is in possession of all the facts, but what may be deduced is that the present Board is having to deal with an inherited situation which almost took the club to financial ruin and may well still do. When added to all the visble detractors already mentioned, a legacy of smoke and mirror budgeting and a lack of financial transparency within the Boardroom, with certain club officials calling the shots and at times masking the full facts, has impacted adversely on the health of DFC. It follows therefore that every facet of running the football club has become hugely challenging, and all against the backdrop of the absentee majority shareholder. All we can do is remain optimistic and invest in season tickets to support the club and team.
  3. It is frightening. I'm really struggling to think of any other nation which has so prostrated itself before another as the Tories are now preparing to do, with the full connivance of the domestic media. It's as if some of them will not rest until the UK is firmly positioned in a list between Tennessee and Utah, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if Britons are driving on the right side of the road within five years. Never mind a parcel o' rogues, this is state-sponsored masochism with knobs......well, anywhere you care to put them, Uncle Sam. Surely even the thickest, most bigoted and racist Brexiteer has to realise what's about to unfold here.
  4. That same America has voted in that one man, a truly odious and probably criminal individual whose record disgraces the office of President. Corbyn and Khan have done nothing to be ashamed of here, and they certainly speak for me.
  5. I can't begin to imagine how difficult it must be to spend ANY time in Trump's company - the man is such a vulgar, humourless, empty intellectual dwarf. With a wife who carries a Tupperware donor card.
  6. Anyone else concerned that the road works in Glasgow Road might affect the squad building. Naw ? Fair enough.
  7. I see from the Clyde thread that Chris Johnston has rolled up at Broadwood, and Tom Lang has full-time offers - Jesus !!
  8. Possibly, or Starmer at a push, but neither are what you would call inspirational. And it is tragic where Labour is concerned, as rUK is squaring for a contest between two pop-up parties filled by utter no-mark representatives.
  9. I agree on Corbyn but I cannot think of a single Labour MP who has leadership qualities, even if a putsch was initiated. They really are in an abysmal state.
  10. Indeed and I also agree that the late season form of Calum Gallagher was influenced by Dom Thomas. As I've already said, we need to recall the dire stuff of last season and who was on the pitch producing it, so I really don't have an issue if JD fashions a completely new squad.
  11. I'm pretty sure Tony Wallace has pitched up at Broadwood too.
  12. The whole thing stinks of a manufactured and heavily orchestrated smear campaign - what a hoot it would be if Corbyn and Momentum continue to Hibs the whole electoral shebang on their account.
  13. One thing is for sure; if the Lib Dems are rising in the polls it's always a sign of who they are not, rather than who they are and what they stand for. They should be renamed NOTA, as in 'none of the above', a diddy on the subs bench who only gets a game in an emergency.
  14. What time is kick-off for tonight's Comedy Club ?
  15. Once Brexit really kicks in I'm looking forward to a television series called 'Dentures Under The Hammer'.
  16. Hancock has just been taken apart by Emma Barnett on Newsnight. Unless his middle name is Foinavon he's toast.
  17. Sincere thanks for his efforts and magic moments this season but you know what ? My heart will go on....
  18. The key phrase in my last post was 'largely rescued' but yes, Ross Forbes made a very valuable contribution although statistics do not tell the whole picture - who ever gets to hear about Mango's 79% aerial defensive wins for example ? And actually, mention of Forbes only serves to underline my earlier point about the midfield, we've already all seen the result of three one-paced players in there and it's not pretty.
  19. Let me be a bit controversial here...in my opinion last season was largely rescued by the input of Messrs Craig Barr, Dom Thomas and David Ferguson, none of whom remain at the club. Retaining too many of the squad who had flatlined for a large part of last term should be avoided, again in my opinion, or alternatives at least explored. If Carswell and Hutton both feature in next season's midfield that would be an act of folly.
  20. I'll be thrilled if JD decides that there may be a better option out there than Kyle Hutton.
  21. Wee Matt Byrne, Crazy Billy and Jean Hilton were Associate Members.
