  1. Yoker news today

We had a free Saturday on Saturday 19 August 2017 but we didn't complain.

The Club would like to thank Rab Sneddon Snr, Paul Burns and Kevin Grant for their hard work in looking after the team for the last few games and for keeping us in the chase for the play off place. Thank you gents, much appreciated.

We wish to thank the other applicants who submitted CV's / applications etc in connection with the post of manager all of which were of a very high standard. We very much appreciate the interest shown in our club.

The club are delighted to announce that Kieron McGuiness has been appointed as team manager. Kieron will be assisted by Paul Finnigan and goalkeeping coach Barry Fraser.
  5. Congratulations Royal Albert

Congratulations to all our friends at The Albert - magnificent achievement. Commiserations to Gartcairn but still a great season guys.
  6. Wishaw Juniors - Scottish Junior Cup Semi-finals

There are a couple of seats left. Buses leaving The Beltane at 11.30
  7. Wishaw Juniors - Scottish Junior Cup Semi-finals

Yes the Tranent game will be covered in the programme. Your faither wasn't wrong. Mr John Chapman of one of our main sponsors James Chapman (Butchers) Ltd has told us of several occasions when packed trains left Wishaw for Juniors games. Some of the crowd figures given for games in the past were well in excess of those enjoyed by many senior clubs nowadays. In reply to Larky 1878 as everyone knows we have been very much a hostage to fortune with the weather this season hopefully no more rain will fall before tomorrow.
  8. Wishaw Juniors - Scottish Junior Cup Semi-finals

Hopefully we can get something arranged as there will be people at The Beltane making recordings. We understand there will be similar arrangements at Hurlford.
  9. Wishaw Juniors - Scottish Junior Cup Semi-finals

Thanks for the kind words. We really are quite a small club and whilst we have been increasing our 'following' over the last few years there has actually been little demand for 'club branded goods'. Our success in the Scottish this season has caught us out so far as this is concerned. We have previously sold jerseys on a one off 'ordered' basis'' but we don't hold stocks for sale (we even sent some to the U.S.A. a couple of years ago) . We currently have a small quantity of badged hats and unbadged black and white bar scarves for sale. If we are successfull in progressing to the final we have spoken to a supplier regarding providing jerseys, scarves, flags, mugs etc etc.... However, please feel free contact us on the club e-mail [email protected] and we will see if there is anything we can do for you.

No, it just the Central League Cup Tie.

I f we can use this thread too . Port Glasgow have kindly agreed to switch our Central League Cup tie due to have been played at The Beltane this Saturday to Port Glasgow Community Stadium, Parklea Playing Fields, Port Glasgow, PA14 6TR K. O. 2.00

Thank you for your very kind comments. The squad of players at the Club at the present time has been a number of years in the making. The majority of the players joined during either John McKeown or Chris McGroarty's time with the Club although several pre-date that. John Brogan brought 3 players to the club, two of whom are younger lads on development loans and who will return to their respective parent Clubs in due course. We very much appreciate being given the opportunity to work with those players and play a part in their development. We fully appreciate the contributions and hard work which all of our previous managers and their respective backroom teams have done for the Club no matter the circumstances of their leaving and we genuinely wish them all the best for the future. This has been been a most unusual but interesting season for us and we still have a long way to go yet.
  13. The reaction to our reaching the Scottish Junior Cup Semi-finals has been truly amazing. We are humbled at the number of messages we have received from well wishers, our friends at other clubs and from the people of Wishaw. Thank you all. Still living the dream. C'mon The Wishy.

Hi Forza, our records are far from complete (I managed to fry the hard drive I was storing my own research on) but I don't think we have reached the quarters anytime in the last 50 years. We made the semis way back in the 1920's though.
  15. Games On

The sun is shining on Wishaw so we are expecting it to be game on at 2.15 at long last.
