  1. Indeed, angry to the degree of your football knowledge...zzzzzzzz...
  2. You think that likely against Peterhead away and Edinburgh at home? Or did you just chuck it out there without checking or thinking? I think us getting a point or two from our 2 next games is more likely. But it's all about opinion; I'm with Ken and A12A1. I'm not telling you who that's against though; maybe start a good pre-posting habit for you.
  3. Any further pearls around who you know, equal or better, who are queuing up Mr 'it's no ma job to pick a manager, it's the directors job' No? Just whine on about sack the manager, now we're safe. Could you maybe start your protest activity by boycotting P&B?
  4. Aye indeed, didnae mean boycott, didnae mean 'now that our safety is confirmed'; your other pearl. I'm just not terribly sure anything you say anymore has the credence to merit a response.
  5. For those that couldn't be arsed to detach themselves from their keyboard only a week past Saturday, the Chairman elect, on behalf of the board, gave backing to the manager; who was also there to be open to all the questions. I guess some posters were there? Hard to say, I didn't hear any of the observations or questions here from the brave men here mostly articulated (only) from behind said keyboards. Talking of bravery, at the time both guys stood up there, not knowing who would turn up, or what they might be asked, we were one point behind Albion. That's still the case, why the need for another statement? Must this be weekly to keep some folks happy? Daily?? Hey, credit where its due; and hang your head in shame posting vitreolic stuff on here about Board commitment if you could have been there, but didn't go. @Fergie1, I tried something approaching conciliatory, but your response confirmed that you're a reactionary numbskull who (should have) lost the right to make comment about our football club when you called for fans to boycott the next matches; what planet are you on.
  6. Well said, everyone is entitled to opinion, and in my opinion, @Blue Oktober , however well intended has, perhaps inadvertently, crossed the line for a social media post. @Fergie 1, you're spot-on, nothing on here should be personal, whether you support the current first team group or not. My view is not personal either in support of the status quo, albeit you keep calling me out to 'support the manager now'. He's a major component in an engine that's not the best in quality of components. If you feel one component is sub-standard, you have a replacement (of equal or better quality) ready to swap them out. Remove it with no such replacement, the engine fails. The part we need is a demonstrably experienced manager, that will immediately integrate with the other moving parts, all with individual complexities of skill and emotion, and improve performance. I don't see all these critical boxes being ticked at this late stage so, for me; and I still think this group can maintain our league status, we stop pushing for 11th hour change (although god knows, everyone has the right to) and get behind our team, in it's current form and, to use the Trust mantra, be the 12th man. Future? Who knows. I do know that next season's board have a sound plan with a sound fiscal core and realistic objectives. That element is building positively, IMHO again; who knows either whether Johnny will be part of that? I admire the guys work ethic and passion; maybe Jaguar Parts Division will make an early season delivery. I'm just not sure we have the funds.
  7. Of course you're right that Peterhead weren't at their best; McAllister not even travelling. Anyone who's played, knows the negative impact of your best player not bring on the pitch. I'd bet there was more to thay story that wouldn't have helped either, beside the horrible travel. I also still saw us under heaps of pressure against a side that was physically and technically stronger and, had they scored first, or at all, it could well have been a different story. We played some nice football defended effectively and took our chances well. We weren't magnificent, and it didn't mean we're competitive with even the top two thirds of the league. However, here it comes, we showed that this group (and yes, I include the manager, as the team dynamic is key; for me anyway) can perform to a level, I think, can get us finishing above Albion Rovers. Comparing favourably against top 4 sides would be nice, but picking up points from QP, Clyde, Rovers and Elgin, and finishing above Rovers is all that matters right now.
  8. I hope we stay up too Mr Daft. I said this after we had just lost 6-0 today. Ipso facto, reasonably accurate as opposed to defeatist.
  9. I'm not defending anyone here, but here's some observations. We never get anything away to Annan. I didn't think we'd end today still 1 point behind. We're still well in it, with fixtures suggesting to me that as Rovers have Peterhead away and Edin City at home, we'll still be (at worst) 1 point behind when they come to Shielfield. Who in their right mind would take the job (with the credentials to do better - no seagull cracks please....[emoji6]) Seriously, today was a shock after 0-0 at half time with broadly equal possession and goal attempts; but I'd still back this group to get the job done over a blind sacking and further disruption at this stage (unless the much vaunted John Hughes takes the job: aye right....)
  10. The volunteer time and effort given by Derek, Daniel and Mark over the years was truly outstanding. Not to mention Neil Oliver's involvement as a hugely positive part of the development coaching team. They also have a network that brought some very talented players into the 20's and reserve set-up; and on to the 1st team squad which will be lost. I'm terribly sad to see this group leaving; I hope a new development backroom can be created soon to ensure we have a development pathway for the club next season, as I'm sure The Trust will continue to provide the financial support Michael Smyth was rightly credited for spearheading. Thank you to the guys and very best of luck wherever they move to.
  11. As potentially winning nothing more than league salvation, do we have a shout for the most diverse, (almost) football related discussion on P&B? Magnificent!! Anyone have a copy of the Magna Carta handy in case it comes up at The Black & Gold tomorrow.
  12. We can't add to the player pool. 'The dressing room' is unified and the group is working hard together. Most involved in football recognise the importance of unity and 100% collective commitment to a common goal on this situation. Clearly, I just don't believe, as you (and others) do, disrupting that at the 11th hour is the best plan. IMHO that would be more dicing with our future. I'll be there at the open forum on Saturday to listen, and contrubute, to the discussion and will likely be supportive of the group, as I think that's the best thing for our club right now. I really hope you'll come along and voice your opposition, with your list of prospective managers we missed out on, and put it to the board in person. More might agree and you can lead the change.
  13. I still think your previous pearl of wisdom that we should immediately sack the manager, as there was a long list of better managers who'd be ready to take the job, was nonsense; but brilliantly trumped by 'now we've secured our league status'. Breathless in anticipation of your next one.
  14. Leaves the door open for the hoardes of top managers Fergie1 tells us are jockeying for position. Form an orderly queue boys, one at a time.
  15. I think the work done on our social media has been great, across all media streams. I posted how much I appreciated the Twitter feed updates on the match away to Edin City. I thought the post asking if anyone knew how to rage quit a real game, when we were 5 down to QP, was genius. There have many more; brilliant stuff. But, there is a line. Quoting an opposition managers abuse towards our manager, on The Club official feed was over that line. Reporting angry exchanges, fine; quoting verbatim? I really don't think so. I'd guess the ensuing conversation and debate about 'the line' led to irreconcilable artistic differences. It's not 'generation gap', as quoted in another of the one-sided football media interviews Doms been on, it's about protecting the clubs integrity; IMHO of course. I'm sure the media coverage will see Dom back involved in football media very soon. I sincerely wish him all the best, and am genuinely sorry it's not with us anymore. That said, perhaps a little mia culpa and there could be a making up to everyone's advantage.
  16. I do believe we mustered one real attempt in the 17th minute. Knee-jerk comment. No queue forming of better, more experienced replacement managers, must be the rain keeping the hoards away. Disappointing defending leading to their 2 goals tonight; but again, fantastic effort and desire from all players. Tough on Brennan being fouled on winning goal, but naive defending allowing if to happen. It's never over until etc etc, but she's warming up her tonsils I fear. Saturday's tweet was unbecoming of an official communication of any professional body, particularly one seeking to attract families to support and sponsors to contribute.
  17. Aw gie's peace. You just can't justify your desire for a knee-jerk dismissal with a cogent replacement. However, well said you'll get behind the manager and the team notwithstanding. Honestly, I'd advocate almost anything LIKELY to create an improvement, this isn't it.
  18. The poll seems to show a majority (62%) for unconditionally keeping the manager to the end of the season.
  19. I know you and Muzzle mean well, but please, you don't watch my team play, nor understand how hard it is to get 'competent' players, let alone managers, commit to Berwick. Change would have to be quick, and an improvement; otherwise it'd be typical football ill-consieved knee-jerk. The hard working and unified management /team dynamic I see (but neither of you do) could be lost if the unit is disrupted; not for me.
