  1. If international football's biggest underachievers don't win the Euros next year with those attacking options then it might never happen. Obviously Bellingham in particular looks an absolutely sensational prospect to dominate the next decade. Meanwhile we just need to lick our wounds and go again next month.
  2. Best for all parties that he's gone. Hopefully creates an opportunity for a loanee centre back to join the squad in Jan.
  3. I caught SLS just prior to Covid, when they supported the Menzingers at QMU. They were sensational that night, and so the Garage gig in January is an essential purchase.
  4. Agreed re the pitch. It's an absolute piss-take that we haven't taken the lines back out.
  5. I'll just be glad when we move away from "the press" and onto the next (non-revolutionary) fad.
  6. SLS are fantastic live - and are playing the Garage in January.
  7. I'm loving the line-up this year and it'll be my first time back since 2015. But I suppose my taste is arguably less extreme than your average Damnation-goer and I'm way more likely to be sucked in for post-rock/metal bands than I will for grindcore outfits etc. Basically the more Damnation moves in an ArcTanGent festival direction the more likely I would be to go, but I'm not necessarily sure that's a good thing for Damnation overall.
  8. Decent game of ‘baw. Both clubs should do alright this season. The ref was a c**t. Hot take.
  9. Let's not forget Chris Turner. Scored in the Champions League qualifiers before pitching up at the rock.
  10. Are they paying us to promote this shite? I sure fucking hope so. Hopefully that new director character can wander back on here and explain if he thinks it's wise for this football club to be flogging another side's wares. Perhaps this is what he meant by "improving the commercials massively"
  11. A statistic we must look to reverse in the next two league matches, which feel increasingly important for Stevie and his squad to demonstrate that they have a bit about them this season.
  12. The point about the narrow pitch is a good one. It’s infuriating that we’ve not reverted back to the wider dimension. Lends credence to the argument that we continue to be more interested in preventing goals rather than scoring them.
  13. There’s a bit of positive spin in the article for sure (classic Farrell you’d have to say) but I think the overall gist of his comments are fair. We performed fairly well in the league cup section against decent opposition. And if it had went to 2-0 last week we’re highly likely to have left with 3 points. The next couple of matches will be very interesting and a real test for Farrell and his squad. Failure to win at least one of them would be a massive disappointment.
  14. Sure, yeah, proper investment in groundsperson(s) + equipment would almost certainly lead to an improved surface. But if funding is available and with this demented ground sharing noose round our neck, I'd be leaning towards the astro.
  15. The most important thing about laying the plastic is removing the challenge of DFC having to perform on a sandy shit-heap every fortnight. All the other stuff is secondary.
  16. That Stirling Albion match was heart-stopping stuff. Swashbuckling football offset by a Scott Murdoch disasterclass.
  17. Here’s hoping “Blair Malcolm - suspended” doesn’t become a theme this season.
  18. I’m minded to go, only because in 30 years following the club I’ve never seen us beat a sitting premier league team and it has to happen at some point surely. Punishment beating incoming.
  19. Agreed. Jan's note suggests some fucking chancer has offered less than £10k. Derisory.
  20. It’s not panic stations by any means but having so many players (7?) injured before the season has even started is hardly ideal.
  21. I don't think there's been any public indication (from Alan Martin lol) that they are interested in selling their shareholding yet. Presumably a positive outcome on their planning application would bump the premium.
  22. We may just have won a watch with Young in particular. Looks a very promising acquisition. Decent business by Farrell.
