  1. Queens Park have the worse looking run in being away to us and Morton and then home to Dundee . However our 4 wins in 13 doesn't point to 2 wins on the bounce. Which I don't think we've done since October in the league. We have no choice but to go for it. I see the Ayrshire Post is saying the new home top is available next week. Will the big reveal be on Friday?
  2. Aye. Wonder how much cash we'll have lost by missing out on play offs, finishing 6th and blowing the chance of a cup semi and possibly final.
  3. I actually agree with this to an extent. Since the win away to Hamilton the midfield has pretty much been non existent(barring occasional glimpses like Cove away). It started well the other night but then totally collapsed when Falkirk started pressing and getting in their faces. As soon as the centre mid disappears the shelling it up the park starts. McGinty is particularly guilty of it but I'm no sure if he's told to do it or if he's the only one looking for the ball while the full backs and wingers just blend in to the background. We certainly could do with extra bodies in the middle. Possibly 4-2-3-1 with Dempsey and possibly McAllister as the 2 as Nick might provide a bit more dig in there and Murdoch,Maguire/Ashford and O Connor/JML as the 3. Maguire and O Connor should be able to get up alongside Dipo when we are on the front foot. Ashford offers more defensively.
  4. To plug the huge gap Raith were strolling through easily? That's my guess anyway. He seemed to bring more cover on the left hand side . Didn't do much but Easton seemed to have his service cut a bit after that.
  5. This is heading to be one of the worst transfer windows ever if those stories actually come to happen
  6. Yeah he was but I think he might have lasted through to DLs early days. Might have went to QoS and then gave up with a persistent injury I think
  7. Think that's how I ended up here as well. P and B could probably apply for city status now compared to then.
  8. Yeah I think it was a sandwich shop. I remember Monster telling me David Dunn looked like he'd actually cry when Ayrgirl asked him if he passed the sandwiches to the right people
  9. I agree with this. We don't look as easily opened up when Ashford and McKenzie play. We don't look as dangerous either right enough but it certainly helps stop us being over run at times like the game v Partick. However we do look a lot more dangerous going forward with Chalmers and Mullen on the wing. It's a good problem to have for a change.
  10. Yeah. Everything Partick were doing was coming down that side. Moving Musonda out there and having Ashford on for Chalmers closed that down a lot more. Plus McGinty was excellent when he came on. Excellent win in the end but the 2 defences were like watching kids football until we changed it
  11. Jags looking way better than us just now. Especially down Paddy Readings side
  12. Well if you get 20 corners in a game and the ICT keeper barely has a save to make and you lose 1-0 to a scrappy goal you can't complain at all. Lots of the ball but looked toothless
  13. Cherrie did save 2 penalties on his debut. Think it went downhill after and I think we got a hiding at Brechin but I can't remember as it seems that long ago Still a registered player somewhere in Ireland I also thought Weaver was decent at the time. Seemed to be the only guy we had that could pass the ball to a team mate.
  14. Yup all off https://spfl.co.uk/news/scottish-football-postpones-professional-matches
  15. The ones quoted in the Daily Record are mainly from a Coronation Street thread and a couple of others that haven't aged well at all So I'm guessing The Phoenix is cancelled.
  16. Think the away one is now sold out up to Large size. Still some of the bigger sizes though I bought a Large away one and it's fairly generous compared to todays top sizes. Same with the home one. Quality is very good. Embroidered badge and nothing iron on. Sponsor is in the material. Material is also heavier like older tops. They'd be daft not to order more. This market could make a fortune. Especially if they bring others out like the bird crap one or the cup final one
  17. I've actually still got that. Those strips have barely aged and would withstand a nuclear blast
  18. I actually think the one thing Ashford did offer more of was defensive cover. Most of Arbroath's attempts seemed to come down Reading and JMLs side of the park.
  19. Thought we played pretty well. Made a few chances but not many. JML was a handful in the first half. Dipo works amazingly hard and looks as if he'll win most of the physical battles. Bryden got into good positions but his final ball was poor a few times. McAllister looked far better than Houston has. Most noticeable for me was the high level of fitness we seemed to have. Looked very sharp.
  20. Doesn't score too many but constantly harasses defenders and likes generally rumbling them up all game.
  21. 4-2-3-1? Either Murdoch or Dempsey forward with Ashford and JML wide Hewitt and another as holding Mids?
  22. Yeah he's a big Ayr fan. I know him from Prestwick gym where he was the manager before this new one. He's done coaching for our youth teams up at Shoot as well.
