    Phones...

We (secondary school) are just about to embark on an indoor ban. Anyone seen with one on school premises will be escorted to the office to hand it in. The HT wants every teacher available for duty at interval and lunch to enforce. "Good luck with that..." is my view. The phrase "from my cold, dead hand" comes to mind when I think about trying to get a lot of the kids to part from theirs. For the rest of them, if they've got a phone on them then they're going to use it surreptitiously whenever they get a chance.

I think that an effective policy probably requires complete separation of phone and student at the start of each day / lesson. I know that some schools use pouches, boxes, etc.

Anyone's school got a mobile phone policy which works well?

There's a school in our local authority who have phone boxes for kids to put their phones into at the start of each lesson although I don't work there so no clue how well it works in practice.

Anyone with a better view of the red card able to confirm what did / didn't happen?

Coll had his boot high and did manage to get to the ball but his foot was at head height, and the Kelty boy got caught right in the face with the studs afterward. It's a red all day for me sadly, especially when the lad was right in front of Donaldson. Wasn't like he couldn't see him coming.

I know MacIver has become poplular and has scored a good few important goals, but I am still in two minds about him.  He certainly has a great ability to tap in a goal from a a few inches, that is for certain.  A goal is a goal so I'm not being sarcastic, evey one counts.  I see him as a good sub, not as our central striker.

If I am on the fence about MacIver, then my brother certainly isn't.  He has seen him play about 6 times this season and he is fairly scathing about him.  He doesn't see a footballer there - no dribbling and swerving as you would expect from a striker, no great ball control, no rushing past defenders.  He just sees a slightly akward, not very athletic guy.   I don't know what Ross has done to him, but I don't agree with my brother.

But it is interesting how someone with no horse in the race can see that.

It was in fact, website and hot tub owner @Div who completely lost the run of himself with the bite thing. The thread was hilarious tbh.

Was it really? I can't remember but he's not who I'd have guessed. I just mind them claiming that it was going to be a massive thing with Miller looking at some form of harsh retrospective punishment only for it never to be mentioned by anyone ever again.

I remember when we brought Jake home and he howled for an hour solid (possibly missing his former owners), the neighbours must have been looking out the silver bullets. After that he was great.

There's nothing better than when you adopt a rescue dog and they slot into your life like they've always been there.

Been a feckin' while since we've had a similar experience.
