I thought with offsides, VAR made the decision, but with this one VAR sent the ref to the monitor. That's what confused me. Happy to be corrected if it's happened before.

Far be it for me to defend @Boo Khaki, as a fins fan, but last year when we played the Chargers they absolutely negated Tua's positives. They jammed WR's at the line and congested the middle of the field. They basically dared Tua to throw outside the numbers consistently (not his strength) and dominated. Going into this year I was curious to see how McDaniel would combat this, but it just never happened. It was like the Chargers had no game plan on D. Watch JT's breakdown of Tua on the QB School and count how many times he says "that's too easy" or "the safety is so deep". I wonder whether last year's plan was on Staley or Renaldo Hill who is now with the Dolphins Don't think I'm taking anything away from Tua or Hill, because I'm not. They still need to execute, and they did expertly. But it wasn't against an expertly game planned defence. On the downside as a Dolphins fan our run D was awful. I've always admired Eckler as a pass catching RB, but we just couldn't stop him. We won the game by 2, and we got 3 pts courtesy of a boneheaded PI by JC Jackson with zero seconds on the clock at halftime. That was probably the difference. Maybe it's just Dolphins Twitter but this Herbert sucks/ Tua great, and vice versa needs to stop. I'm of the option that that draft year had 4 great QB"s that could easily be No.1 picks in other poor QB draft years. Admiring Herbert flicking the ball 30 yards downfield with zero effort, whilst acknowledging Tua can't do that as he's a different type of QB doesn't make me a Tua hater. Rumour I'm hearing online is that the Dolphins also interested in Bobby Wagner and/or Jordan Poyer in free agency. I'd be delighted if it was true and they got Poyer.

Here's a question for any Cowboys fans? With Dak being out, would you consider trading say a 3rd to the Dolphins for Teddy Bridgewater? Not suggesting he's the longterm answer, but he might just get enough wins to keep you in touch until Dak comes back. Dolphins lost a 3rd in the tampering punishment, so it also works for us. Just looking for opinions as I've seen it suggested a lot on Dolphins Twitter/YouTube.

I watched the Hurricanes tonight and Mario Cristobal seems to have added some structure this year. You can see they have a game plan, run the ball then open up the play action based on the success of the run. Still don't think they're great, but might start watching them semi-regularly again.

I get that people think he should resign. I'm not one of them, but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. What I don't get is calling for him to resign in the week we have two Nations League games. How would it have benefited the team if he had gone the day after the Ukraine game as suggested in this thread? I just don't understand that thinking one bit.

It's rare that I'll post in this section of the forum. But I'll lay my personal opinion out to give maybe a different perspective, I'm sure I'm not the only one with this or a similar point of view. I'm generally in favour of independence. I normally vote for independence supporting parties. But if independence was dependent on me voting Alba whilst they are standing people with views I find abhorrent (like Alex Arthur for an example), then f**k independence. I get that for people like you it's that important, but to me it's not important enough to sell out my morals and give people like him even 5 minutes of political support. So whilst your blaming others for being devisive and ruining the chance of independence, then also be aware that the people you are supporting are also devisive and possibly turning others away from supporting independence. Before you reply, please consider that I don't want you to try and convince me that Alba are misrepresented. I don't care if you think I'm not seeing the bigger picture, or even care if you think I'm an idiot or some kind of quisling. Just giving you a personal point of view.

Deebo will most likely play out his rookie contract. I believe he'll be a UFA next year,.(happy to be corrected if that's wrong). Even if he gets tagged in 2023 with a view to being traded, they won't get any value for him. The same goes for Kyler Murray. I'm all for players (even rookies) getting contracts their play deserves. If teams don't want to deal, then fair enough, that's their perogative. But they risk being in the same situation Miami got into with Jarvis Landry. He wanted a contract Dolphins delayed for a year and when they were ready to talk he didn't want to know. Dolphins ended up with a 4th and a 7th for arguably their best offensive player at the time. I can only speak about the Dolphins (because that's all I really look into in any depth), but I'm sure other franchises are equally keen to shakedown players when it suits them. Dolphins re-negotiated Jakeem Grant's contract down, then traded him. They also re-negotiated McKinney's contract then cut him. That's two examples just from 2021. There are plenty more. Football is a business and both sides are just looking out for themselves and trying to get the best value.

That's fair, but he's also on record recently saying he would be prepared to sign initially as a back up, just to get a chance to get back in. There are worse back ups than him in the NFL.

I honestly don't believe he would sit out though. Maybe he would skip some mandatory training days and get fined, but he would turn up for the season and get his bonuses. Then next year the decision is harder. According to spotrac this is his current contract.
