The shots they've shown of Martindale just sitting on the bench - if there ever was a depiction of "dead man walking" that is it. (although sitting in this case)
-
On a separate note I bet we were the black strip today.

Not sure if its the same for the Scottish premiership but someone was saying that a manager in the English championship or first division was getting fined £5k per week (or game - not sure which) for not having up-to-date Pro licensing. Not sure if that the same in Scotland or even, if it is, the level of fine but it might give some explanation. Cant see anything on the SFA site.

Must admit the timing seems pretty odd particularly after the keep fighting to the end speech. Surely immediately updating one's pro license is only necessary if you're looking for another job?

Somebody said there were only about five players fully fit but that was earlier in the week. As far as I understand this will be a game where Neil Hastings/Brian Rice is in charge whilst Martindale is in Switzerland. Shame we wont have a fully fit side; would be interesting to see the contrast. -

Difficult to know with Stryjek sometimes TBH. Was that the game where Holt got sent off and we missed a penalty? -

From someone who finds paedophilia and disability amusing I think we can all see the standard of your mental capacity sonny. -

We could start a new trend - I could walk up to Lord Sainsbury of Turville to ask him why the frozen peas at Sainsburys PLC are more expensive than Aldi's -

Its not surprising you have trouble identifying Rankine's activities; he appears to have several personas on Companies House, as has Sumner. When registering you're meant to list out your previous and current directorships; seems he and Sumner both forgot to do that. Likewise it seems he has amnesia about his date of birth. When I first met him almost 15 year ago he reminded me of a bomb site car salesman like we use to see in the fifties and sixties; very much the spiv with the wide awake suit. Leastways Hogath and Ward managed to perform the relatively simple task of registration without issue. -

Pretty clear its not with the best interest of the club or the fans though. -

Hey - anyone would have thought there was a football match on today or something. -

If it was the one under the north stand of the stadium I think its a gymnasium but some of the others may know better. Think it closed when the new houses got built - something about couldn't qualify for a late license. -

Nah; you wouldn't be interested. He's really injury prone; scared to make any form of tackle and simply cant be bothered. Also he's a really disruptive figure in the dressing room who rarely turns up sober for training. He's also a really lazy ####! Convinced? -

Yes - I cant think of one game where Jason Holt hasn't given 100%. Even the games where he's given away a penalty or got sent off at Hibs (wrongly IMO) he never lacked effort. -

Apparently both Jason Holt and Mo Sangare are on contract for another year. Not sure either would opt to leave early. Jason could probably still find another top club but, at 31, his options will presumably be limited. -
As far as I recall they had a whole team of professionals working in the VAR centre therefore there were obviously many eyes looking at the multiple screens but , more particularly, in Scotland as far as I am aware, there's only one qualified referee and an assistant working in the VAR room so, if the qualified referee is reviewing an incident then he cant be watching the live game. In the world cup a review could be carried out by one team whilst another watched the ongoing game. That being said, for the amount we're paying, I would have hoped for a team of referee's working on each game although my next question might be are there really that amount top qualified referees in Scotland?

Given the health history of Devlin that would be another major own goal if we didn't have any say in it. I know a lot of automatic extensions are based on number of appearances etc. He's missed half the season but probably would meet that anyway. Actually as a player i thought he started the season strongly but never seemed to recover after his first injury. His ability (or lack of) to quickly change direction or accelerate from a standing start really ended up making him a bit of a liability in defence; particularly when facing a counter attack. At 31 with his injury record I cant see any other top level club coming in for him so I'm not sure he's going to be inundated with offers. -

Just so long as we don't re-sign Nicky Devlin. One Devlin-free season would be a bonus. -

It is a bit worrying when looking at the fitness of the ones still in contract: Shamel George - Injury prone Shaun Donnellan - Injured Jamie Brandon - back from injury David Carson Scott Pittman - Injured Stephen Kelly Jason Holt - "Injured? Pah injury's for whimps!" Mo Sangare - isn't he back from injury? Stephen Bradley - Just back from injury Tete Yengi I suppose we can add Welch Hayes and Lawel as also in contract. Other than thart we also have a number of youngsters who are looking to break in to the team -

Just reminding myself of EdinburghLivi's excellent post and particularly looking at all those players whos contracts are up in 2024. I'd like to try and keep hold of Penrice and Anderson but suspect they'll be away. Andrew Shinnie and Christian Montano are also possibilities although the latter's fitness record may make this not feasible. I always thought Shinnie was a bit of a luxury player but he has shown a bit of graft recently if not for a full 90 mins. If Daniel Mackay could improve his stamina and fitness then he'd certainly be some play but likewise would probably be out of out league (in more ways than one). Guthrie I'm not sure of; he only seems to work well if there's a strike partner along side him. Whilst we have Yengi is he necessary? Morgan Boyes? -

If i wanted to be really persnickety i would throw the number of points we've dropped from earlier in the season by missed/saved penalties. Haven't checked but imagine there must be a good 10 points there somewhere.
