  1. What about the not-so-great ones, Weegies and the like?
  2. My father in law did the Pools at Timex. He'd put the money in a big brown envelope and then send my brother in law (about 12 at the time) down the town to hand it into the Pools office. Of course, Gordon left the money on the bus. He returned home in a helluva state, tears and snotters but not nearly as bad as my FiL absolutely shiting it at the thought of what the workers at Timex would do to him. He rushed down to the bus depot to find them counting out the money in the inspector's office. Lucky. Another 5 minutes and it probably would have been divvied up.
  3. A boat that's designed to sink - no chance.
  4. I'm with you on that one. At least if the horses shit it's good for the roses.
  5. I always set the headlights in the car to automatic. When it goes in for a service, they put it back to off. Every time, I forget and end up driving in the dark with no lights.
  6. Aye, I've mentioned it before but since a change in my job I've been doing a lot more driving in England and the standard is awful. On the M5 last week, a VW Scirocco roared up behind me as I was overtaking a line of traffic, tailgating and flashing his lights. So I pulled in after the overtake and he sped by to tailgate the next car, flashing his lights etc etc. A few miles up the road I caught up with him dawdling along in the middle lane at 60 so he obviously wasn't on his way to an emergency. Two young lads. So I passed them but about 15 minutes later, he roared up behind me again, flashing his lights again. Fukkit. I pulled alongside a lorry and just matched speed. The two lads behind were going apoplectic until they eventually swerved into the inside lane and undertook a lorry on the hard shoulder before weaving into the outside lane again.
  7. Hartley surely destined to manage Trampmere Rovers?
  8. I don't mind folk writing in the dust, but I do object to them dating it.
  9. Estonia's PM - https://foreignpolicy.com/2022/06/03/estonia-russia-ukraine-war-kallas-baltics-nato/ She's right. I often think that while we think of the Nazi's crimes as abhorrent, the Russians had no problem with them. They were just pissed off at being the victims.
  10. Yup. Companies are getting out due to the impact on ESG ratings.

  13. Clearly you do, since you feel the need to comment from the colonies.

  15. Booked VIP tickets for the late night show at the Moulin Rouge and also got tickets and a time slot for the Louvre. I've heard the Louvre is a warren, would the guided tour be worth it?
