  1. Honestly, what a fucking nation we are
  2. Lyndon Dykes has been absolutely outstanding. Caused absolute chaos to their defence, never gave them a second to get settled with any ball coming through. Fucking love that man
  3. Didn’t see McSauce being the best goal scorer in world football coming on Saturday morning tbh, but I, for one, welcome it
  4. Would be very up for us going 2-0 up and then having Tierney put Porro in to the stands of the upper deck, tbh.
  5. I’m all for pro Scottish bias, but Michael Stewart is a total fucking slaver
  6. That was incredibly stupid from Robertson. Lucky that’s only a yellow tbh.
  7. Burst out laughing multiple times, but Shiv greeting Tom with “I hear you and Greg are calling yourselves the Disgusting Brothers now” was genuinely hilarious. Fantastic first episode back. Puts the kids in play immediately for the crowd pleasing war or equally crowd pleasing backstabbing en route to reconciliation with Logan. So many moving pieces. Can’t call it yet, not even sure I want to call it, just want to sit back watch the Roy’s tear each other apart, and chuckle at the sordid adventures of the Disgusting Brothers.
  8. 1-1 draw and a good start to the campaign, IMO. Got 3 tickets to sell for it if anyone’s looking. Give us a shout if so. East stand next to each other.
  9. It's a small thing, and more general points rather than direct reply to the post, but where has this idea that Forbes is some backbench outsider that's risen to prominence in spite of the SNP management (ala Corbyn) come from exactly? She was appointed Finance Secretary by those very same people, and since her appointment the view was that she was being prepped for a prominent party role, maybe even the leadership. Had she not sprinted out of the traps spouting social beliefs akin to a steaming drunk uncle at a wedding, there's a very good chance the likes of Swinney, Robertson et al would have stayed entirely neutral with Humza and Forbes 1A and 1B in whichever order you want...and Mad Ash in at 4,756,089Z. This is also a neat summary as to why I can't understand this idea of her competence. She very nearly blew up her entire campaign within the first week, alienating their current partners in govt as a result and a decent sized portion of the membership. Has then preceded to nuke relations with her fellow cabinet ministers, whilst also implying that the govt, that she's a significant part of, were shite, in the process undermining her own credibility, and providing opposition Parties with a variety of attack lines. Absolutely none of that are the actions of a shrewd political operator. Going purely by their political positions, I'd prefer Yousaf to Forbes. Whether you believe Humza has his own opinions or is just following the centre-left party line being fed to him, Kate's a lot more socially and financially conservative, and in terms of competence, I don't see much more than a cigarette paper between them.
  10. Fat Dan “both sidesing” an actual gangland drug lord cause it might, maybe, have got a fight made is absolutely tremendous stuff
  11. We binged it the last couple of days. Really good all the way through. I was a bit worried it’d get overly twee, but for what’s ostensibly a comedy, the character development has been really good. Roy is the best character in it by a distance, numerous hilarious things in isolations, but his constant referring to his niece as “a little idiot” when talking to other people never stops being funny.
  12. Maybe one of the most insulting things I've ever read on this forum, tbh. The series so far has been excellent. I've played the first game, but not the second, and it was years and years ago, so there's lots of bits that happen that twig one of my memories and prompt a "Leo Di Caprio pointing at TV" reaction. The gradual building of the relationship between Joel and Ellie has been the highlight for me, as I seem to remember it being in the game as well overall. Like others, would have loved a couple more episodes to flesh (pun intended) everything out even more, but no complaints so far, and assume there'll be at least a second series covering game 2 as well. Re-play of the first and play of the second very much in the plans.
  13. Mavs v Phoenix game there was outstanding. Some of the best players alive just getting bucket after bucket, and - more importantly - just pure hatred of each other. 7-game playoff series please. The banter gods demand it.
  14. Ladies and gentlemen, we’ve got ourselves a bald off
  15. Watched it before golf this morning. What an anticlimax. Not convinced Gane even as much as threw a punch, and the takedown defence and wrestling seemed utterly non-existent. Bleak that Stipe at 40 without a fight in two years having been knocked the f**k out by Ngannou is the next in line and you can’t really argue with it. Should get that fight out of the way and then give Ngannou whatever he wants.
  16. Drake’s put money on Jon Jones, so the wise thing to do would be to put every penny you have on Gane Should be an excellent fight. Couple of unknowns with Gane’s apparent swollen hand and Jones obviously never having fought at heavyweight. Not sure which way I’d call it, although hope Gane knocks the scumbag the f**k out.
  17. Probably bullshit, but this script has been floating around twitter since yesterday. Will be some laugh if it’s real and pans out like this Full respect from me if it’s real. Suckering in as much cash as possible and just going full WWE.
  18. I fucking love NBA games. The level of basketball is incredible obviously, but the general atmosphere and show just adds to it. Brilliant every time. Was a good, close, back and forth game up until around a quarter through the 3rd, but then the Warriors seemed to run out of steam, which with Steph and Wiggins both missing wasn’t surprising as they don’t have enough depth without those two. Malik Beasley and Rui Hachimura were very good. Klay’s jump shot is art, and got to see Bron nail an incredibly sexy oop, so plenty of highlights. Was going to try and go to the Clippers Kings game tonight with last minute tickets as well as the weather is crap and we weren’t planning anything, but it’s actually so bad that they’ve released flood warnings and basically binned transport in the city, so didn’t bother buying them. Kawhi, PG and Westbrook all playing 40 minutes plus in a 176-175 double O/T barnstormer. Second highest scoring game in NBA history. One of the greatest games of all time. Absolutely gutted.
  19. Sadly Steph and Wiggins are both out, but buzzing to get to the Lakers-Warriors game tonight at the Crypt. Expecting a fairly comfortable Lakers win considering who GS are missing, their away record and that the Lakers have strengthened a lot at the trade deadline, but you never know if Klay and Poole both get hot. Very excited to get to see King James live.
  20. Managed my first round of the year (and first since September) this afternoon, and even managed to get the shorts on in sunny Kemnay. Played surprisingly ok considering the absence, and few sclaffy short pitches aside was pretty happy with the ball striking. The oversized winter green holes were most welcome for the putting confidence Hopefully get to play a lot more this year now I’ve finally hung up the boots from playing 11s on a Saturday.
  21. I watched it this morning before work without knowing the score or anything about it, and from the first second of the coverage I just absolutely knew he was breaking that record. Zero doubt. As soon as the headband was spotted, it was an inevitable formality. Some of his scoring, particularly driving to the basket at speed and just bodying boys 10 / 15 years younger than him, are just absurd for a 38-year old in that sport that's been a professional for 20-years and playing at the highest level available to him for around 30. Man is a genuine freak of nature. We're over in LA in a couple of weeks and got tickets for the Lakers Warriors game. Praying that he's fit and Steph makes an earlier than expected recovery. The funniest part is that for all the pomp and circumstance, it was actually relatively understated compared to what I was expecting. They really do love to make a big deal out of these things, did the same when Steph broke the 3-point record last year. A nation of fucking lunatics. Was worth it for the sheer awkwardness of the moments and photos with Kareem. Curb your enthusiasm like cringing stuff. You'd have been forgiven for thinking AD was in "street clothes" mode again last night he was so anonymous, was bizarre. Russ and Pat Bev are like the Harry Maguire of the NBA. Generally hilarious watching their antics and decision making. Whole thing was an enjoyable watch.
  22. Add me to the "it was ok, enjoyable enough ending" camp. Wasn't particularly explosive or exciting, but it tied up all the loose ends it needed to, albeit at breakneck pace for the likes of Murderer Faisal and Paedo Rob, and there was more than sufficient spite and tension in the Catherine and Tommy scenes even while he tried and failed to make amends and gain some atonement. I did thoroughly enjoy that it was consistent with the rest of the show in that TLR only had two states of being for 85% of his life: hiding/imprisoned or near death.
