  1. Yeah, been down the bribery route, taking things off them until it’s tidy, and like you say it works, but just goes back to normal a few days later. Not even the mess that annoys me, it’s the washing stuffed down the side of beds, fruit peelings under desks, half eaten sandwiches left lying, it’s bogging.
  2. Does anyone else have children that are clatty wee b*****ds? My kids share a room when they’re here, and up until yesterday I would be in there every day tidying up their mess, making the beds, taking out glasses, plates, food wrappers etc… Ended up having a heads gone moment with them both yesterday over the state of their bedroom, and I’m now refusing to enter the pit, if they want to live like pigs in shit then they can fire away. I’m quite a clean freak so perhaps I am being too harsh on a 13 year old and a 10 year old, but I remember being pretty tidy, even hoovering at 10 for my Mum. They get asked to do f**k all when they’re here, but just asking them to pick up their clothes is a pure chore. As mentioned, I’m now at the stage that if they want to live like that them I’m letting them charge on.
  3. Ah sorry for your loss Ad Lib, thoughts with you and your family at this difficult time. I’m glad you got to spend a little time with him at the end, it might not seem it but it will be a comfort.
  4. My gf and I split up due to the strain 100% WFH was putting on our relationship, she moved out for two months, which was a pretty miserable time for me. I really hope that Sturgeon takes into account people’s mental health issues when she issues her draconian lockdown rules in an hour. Mines is shot to pieces at the thought of no football or pub visits for an unspecified amount of time.
  5. So what’s the fucking point of getting it? Aw I am so far done with this, she will be frothing at the mouth to close those big bad football stadiums today, but make sure 94 year old Ethel can still go and sit inside a nice, warm church. Heads gone etc…
  6. Daily Mail (I know) quoted it as being dismissed as a result of homophobia, or at least that is what the couple reasoned to the authorities why the complaint had been brought against them. I would absolutely approve cases like this and Arthur Labinjo-Hughes as being merited for full life tariff. I would say that anyone found guilty of murdering a child in these circumstances have forfeited their right to a life outside of prison ever again.
  7. Definitely go for the night out. Am I f**k letting these bullshit advisory rules rule my free time ever again.
  8. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, IMO.
  9. Suck mummy’s finger?
  10. My kids won’t be with me until Boxing Day, so will probably end up getting a Chinese or a kebab for dinner, but going baws out on Boxing Day. My youngest son loves Cola Ham so will definitely be doing that, Turkey crown too, maybe a joint of pork marinated in olive oil, garlic, thyme and Parmesan cheese. Food is the best bit about Christmas, no question.
  11. Normally I'd agree with you, but it just doesn't interest me at all anymore, I can go weeks without even thinking of having a smoke and then have one after dinner one night, then not touching them for weeks afterwards. I would say I've been like that for at least three years now. I didn't touch fags for about a year when I finally quit.
  12. I'm nearly four years off the fags, and for the first time, I am comfortable enough to have a few on occasions, and not fall into the trap of smoking all the time again. I went to visit a friend earlier in the week, and my vape broke in the car, so I grabbed 20 fags from a petrol station. That was Tuesday night, I had two cigarettes (one before meeting said friend, and one afterwards), still 18 left in the packet. Couldn't afford to smoke full time again.
  13. I like to think I'm a fairly normal person, however I get absolutely fuming when I see people take a massive minus offer on the Chase. If you're pish at quizzing why on earth go on the show? Does my head in. I must have missed this episode as I would likely have had an aneurysm at that.
  14. Wonder what this Allegra has on Boris, he can barely dislodge his tongue from her arse to talk about her.
  15. Glad you’re OK Jacksgranda, keep well sir!
  16. Glad he’s OK, was getting a bit worried too.
  17. Then frankly something must change. His father made excuses as to why he wouldn’t be attending school last June when they reopened, the school opened their doors to him during lockdown as they had suspicions that he wasn’t receiving the care he should have been, and his father and step-mum kb’d it as it suited them if he were away from prying eyes. Why on earth would either of them have taken him to a doctor? He lay dying for over ten minutes, Tustin, rather than phoning an ambulance, stood over him and took photos of his lifeless body to send to Hughes. Are those the sort of people you would expect to take a child to a GP, who could then report their concerns? I don’t know what I would have done in that situation, but I would like to think had I been his teacher or head teacher, and was as concerned as they probably were given Arthur had mentioned on numerous occasions that he feared his father killing him, that I’d be chasing daily updates from authorities, especially during a national lockdown when they weren’t able to see him every day.
  18. I haven’t. His maternal grandmother raised concerns, his uncle raised his concerns with the police, Tustin’s stepfather anonymously called social services, Hughes’ father was at loggerheads with him last Christmas over the treatment the pair were inflicting on him, the school also made their thoughts known too. I’d fully expect heads to roll following this, and it will be an injustice to hear the authorities at Solihull say that it was a blip and changes will be made, when it will in fact be nothing but a sound bite to detract from the criticism that they are rightly facing following this tragic case. That said, none of this would have happened had the people who were meant to nurture and love the child not behaved like absolute animals.
  19. I was in tears reading the story on the BBC, absolutely horrendous, starving, but couldn’t eat the food as it was so laced with salt. No one loves me. How could you hear that and not do something, anything? How could you be so cruel, to do that to a defenceless child? Genuinely felt physically sick reading about the case. I hope the pair of them never see daylight ever again.
  20. Fortmartine and Spartans were low points, but that was absolutely unacceptable today, probably the worst I can really remember. Think Danny has to go, done a great job for us but we need a change. Just not acceptable at all.
  21. Area 5s. I for one am buzzing for this today, like a wean at Christmas, hoping we can put in a decent performance and get through safely.
  22. Lock, stock token gifts in this house. Although the thing I have bought is absolutely sensational and will reduce her to a blubbering mess on Christmas morning.
  23. Jesus, people moaning about getting trapped by their other halves when they give you a list of things they want for their birthday/Christmas. I’d fucking love a list, or at least a bit of guidance as to what she may want. Totally left to my own devices and just hope I’ve made a mental note of things she has commented on over the year. Thankfully we have agreed to just token gifts this year as we have spent quite a considerable sum doing up the bedroom this week and last.
