  1. DOT1 where did you buy that crystal ball?

I would suggest seeking a refund.

This is football, managers and players all have shelve lives and would be liars if they said opportunities to play/manage at the top level for greater rewards would not be given their full consideration.

I moved every five years and if honest I would admit the cash reward did influence each of these moves plus of course the professional challenges on offer.

That leaves ICT and Queen's Park fighting it out...ICT with the slight advantage, but the run in is perhaps slightly in Queen's Parks favor. It will be very interesting to see how teams approach these last few matches, as despite being either secure or pretty secure, 5 versus 7 is worth about £45k.

ICT look to have a dodgy run in when you factor in teams playing fringe players in the lead up to the playoffs.

    Twist or stick for them.

Assume RR might rest a few and give us a leg up next week.

Arbroath can't buy a win so QP might fault them they will then need to do the Ton on Final Game Friday.

We might have went on our holidays by then or give a few fringe players a chance of playing for a contract next season, though I assume Dougie has already made that call. Again thought the same a few years ago when we relegated Falkirk, who had signed a few of our players for the next season, but they all put in great shifts that day.

Away, if ICT I think they will canter the playoffs .

    Ah jealousy!

Don't think the voluptuous Jane Lake sent the night on the couch inbetween getting photographed around Glasgow Parks in her swimwear for the Evening Times . F#ck knows what special talent he has.

  4. Sadly this might be the last time we see Arbroath in the Championship for a while.

Don't see many bigger clubs giving you loans in the 1st division.

So get the steak and black pudding pies heated up.

Is big Dunc your new assistant manager or motivation coach or just a big mouth trying to save his own skin.

    Yes,  I thought so.

Being that quiet here might have to visit the Cowshed forum to hear how we are shaping.

If Dundee stay up you're going to Paisley

    Home Fixtures without switches
    Hearts:17+3(Dundee,Rangers,St Mirren) = 20
    Kilmarnock:17+3(Celtic,Dundee,Hearts) = 20
    Rangers:17+3(Dundee,Kilmarnock,St Mirren) = 20

    St Mirren:16+2(Celtic,Kilmarnock) = 18
    Celtic:16+2(Hearts,Rangers) = 18
    Dundee:16+2(Celtic,St Mirren) = 18

    • Hearts will need to go to Dundee, Rangers or St Mirren a 3rd time but as Rangers and St Mirren are needing to switch one home game already it's going to be Dundee.
    • Rangers won't go to Kilmarnock a 3rd time and Dundee are hosting Hearts so that leaves St Mirren
    • And by process of elimination Kilmarnock visit Parkhead again

    Home Fixtures After switches

    Hearts:17+2(Rangers,St Mirren but not Dundee,) = 19
    Kilmarnock:17+2(Dundee,Hearts but not Celtic) = 19
    Rangers:17+2(Dundee,Kilmarnock but not St Mirren) = 19

    St Mirren:16+2+1(Celtic,Kilmarnock, plus Rangers) = 19
    Celtic:16+2+1(Hearts,Rangers plus Kilmarnock) = 19
    Dundee:16+2+1(Celtic,St Mirren plus Hearts) = 19

Might need to call on VAR to resolve this.

He is back but clearly still suffering from his injury,

While true of his first game no so at Airdrie and Ayr.

I have been to the three games he has now played. First game not very good and off the pace as expected as wasn't fully fit and rusty. Second game better but still needed to sharpen up and get some service.

Third game, further improved and went on some decent runs but after early booking had to hold back on physical challenges. Might have done better if Muirhead and Crawford had better games.

Feel a hattrick tonight would go down well.

It's strange stuff. Any particular reason for it?

Highs and lows of a normal season.

Plus hunting packs of red dotters probably putting forum members off giving an honest opinion of how they see it.

Also would be better if they just let the regular dicks rant on and just ignore them.

  8. Well the last two games have help focused my opinion that we need to refresh and add to our player pool next season.

Must go -  McDonald, Broadfoot, French, and Gillespie. Plus Quitongo who's main quality it seems is disrupting defenses but with little or no positive outcome. Remember when he used to contribute a wonder goal or two.

Bearne has delivered more in his short cameo appearances and should be giving more playing time.

Strapp is injured yet again hope this is down to his full on playing style so will leave that one with Dougie.

McGrattan is a funny one for me. I like the boy's qualities and have pitched for him getting more game time before and he has had now clocked up 101 appearances for the Ton. Lately I don't think he is interested and giving it his full commitment on the park. It looks like he doesn't fit in with Dougie's player requirements, doesn't feel wanted or thinks his opportunity to be a regular starter and professional player at Morton is dying.

Blues and Power would keep both but we need an additional mid field warrior.

King is contracted for next year. So it's now or never for him next year. Becoming a successful full time professional footballer needs dedication and 120% application. So it's in his hands to demonstrate that he can convert his potential and realize his ambitions playing for the Ton.

Crawford and Muirhead, the choice is theirs. Both have contributed for a number of seasons and will have to decide if Morton is where they want to be next year.

Jack Sanders had a great game for us tonight and didn’t let Oakley into the game at any point.

    Not that good FWIW.

Actually after getting booked Oakley had no option other than to avoid physical contact.

In fairness Sanders did apply as much holding, pushing and in your face tatics up until the booking.

Anyway a game of two half's,  or maybe 43mins and 47 mins.

Happy with the draw, happy with 10 points v Ayr, happy season is nearly over as the thin squad is looking dead on it's feet.

New stand/terracing is looking good but feel you have missed an opportunity it doesn't look to have a great seating capacity.

Two more seating rows might have just done it or was hospitality the main brief?

  10. Having reviewed the games schedule, I expect the following post-split games.

    April 27/28

    Celtic v Rangers

    May4/5

    Rangers v St Mirren

    Kilmarnock V Celtic

    May 11/12

    Celtic v Motherwell/Hibs/Dundee

    Hearts v Rangers

    May 14/15 (mid-week fixtures)

    St Mirren v Celtic

    Rangers v Kilmarnock

    May 18th

    Celtic v Hearts

    Motherwell/Hibs/Dundee v Rangers

I think we all know that the SPFL will have the OF face off first game to avoid either winning it on the last game .

Don't know if Sky can influence this and seek to get more than 1.66 M watching. Also PL final games are also on May 19th so Sky will have no great interest in Scottish games on that day unless we play top 6 on Saturday and bottom 6 on Sunday.

  11. As this is just about home travel distance for me might hold getting a ticket until team lines are out and Broadfoot is confirmed as a sub.

Then again we have the ticket allocation, while in recent years I have happily sat in the stand will need to get there early to get a seat with a view.

Oh the dilemma of following the Ton.

In reality we need to accept getting 5th is a decent outcome so 3pts needed here. I don't get to pick the team but other than know it needs new legs so time to bench Broadfoot, Power and Crawford.

Telling that Morton are the dirtiest team in the SPFL by far on 96 yellows, they have the top 3 individual players in the Championship, Power 10, Broadfoot and Muirhead on 9, add in French and Crawford on 8.

Sadly Muirhead and French don't help our numbers as most are for complaining to the referee about some foul or decision not going their way.

To be fair Power and Broadfoot are too slow and are easily caught out on the plastic surfaces,  not sure why we start them in these games.

Airdrie's quick breaks coupled with two once in a season finishes put us in real trouble but we did have three good opportunities to reduce the deficit before half time.

Why Jack Baird didn't get a red in that fight I am lost for words. Maybe no, as Robertson usually looks to VAR to help with decisions.

  13. On a more serious note. What's the parking arrangements.

Last time I visited I parked in the local scheme but palls who know the area say not a good idea.

Also I remember neds ( not actual Airdrie  supporters ) chucking stones at vehicles on the way out.

Just got my insurance renewal up 65% with 10+ no claims and don't fancy incurring additional costs.

    So what's the best parking?

You guys will be pleased to hear Sincy the hatchet man is unlikely to be playing on Saturday so Oakley will be safe this time.

This is good news as I would have expected Oakley to stick one on his and get a red card ending any chance we have of making 8th.

Pray for no rain so Strapp doesn't have to dry the ball with his wee towel every time he takes a throw. Bloody ridiculous the amount of time this guy is allowed to faff about.

Well forecast looks like you might get those prayers answered.

Seems like opposition fans have moved on from the big bad Morton team to the time wasters with Strapp TI's the new target to get refs attention.

If it helps we should have dry spare balls on each side ready for Strapp to utilise.

As an aside my big mate from Barrow is up to attend tomorrow and he reminded me that he has never witnessed a Ton defeat.

    So 2 v 2 likely outcome.

Get the need for changes but hopefully a week off will freashing the boys up, but Broadfoot needs benched. Watching him trying to get back last week brought tears to my eyes.
