  1. I will go with this site listing for his place of birth:
  2. His own site states he was born in Dunblane, so I think it would come as a bit of a shock to him and his mother that Dunblane has become an Edinburgh suburb.
  3. I can imagine your Cameronesque like fizzer being popular with the jam making set. Well done Murray as well.
  4. I Will Not Look At Titties For A Year - Bill Bailey.
  5. Whilst some adaptions are okay, I feel that directors should now give these types of book a rest in favour more contemporary writings, if they cannot fully capture the greatness of the classics. It's good to hear this is a decent film though.
  6. I had a sore one on the inside of my thigh and the bruising lasted about two weeks. Dark purple to start with, fading to a light brown pigment and then before disappearing. I always thought the bruising lasted longer on the meatier parts of your leg, but that obviously proves me wrong.
  7. When I came out of work last night I noticed a screw stuck in one of the back tyres of my car. I took it to Arnold Clark this morning thinking it would only be a quick puncture repair, only to be told the tyre is damaged and also needs replaced, which will set me back £64 without VAT. However, they have told me it is VAT free day today, so that will be the price. Thanks for that.
  8. Wisemen - James Blunt. I am not really a James Blunt fan but this song has been on Radio 2 the last couple of days when I have been driving home from work, so I have downloaded it and I am begining to like it more than I should. I hope this is not a gateway song and I get hooked on stronger James Blunt gear. Oh the shame of it, I would be shunned by family and friends and on a downward spiral, before you know it I would listening to Daniel Bedingfield in order to get my musical 'fix'. A tragic chain of events I am sure you would agree.
  9. My mate had one about fourth hand by the time he got it. He thought it was very cool. I commented on the throaty exhaust and he says: " Aye it's a racing exhaust, so it's supposed to sound like that". Two weeks later the exhaust fell off, riddled with rust it was.
  10. Metros, now they really were gash and it would not take much to wrap themselves around anything. I am loving this talk of retro cars though, Astra's, Micra's and Metro's - all good stuff.
  11. Indeed, once you get the speed up on them they can give most things a run for there money (on snow anyway). Cheap as chips to run, but not the coolest looking car in the garage.
  12. Sounds a bit manic, but at least you made it back in one piece. What's wrong with Micra's? My first car was a Micra and it was great, although it was christened the skip by my mates - not becuase it was was full of rubbish, but becuase it had the aerodynamics of one. Bah.
  13. Right, it is foggy outside visibility at maybe 50-100 yards in places and yet there are still fuckwits driving with no lights on at all. Incredible.
  14. I have not read them yet, but they arrived in the post this morning: Failed State by Noam Chomsky Chomsky assesses American foreign policy, past and present and argues that America shares similar features to the regimes it insists are failing and are a danger to it's neighbours. Hunting Grounds by Gary Sutherland The author travels to a match at all the Scottish football grounds last season. With some observational humour. A good write up for Queens fans and the social club. Bush at War Part III: State Of Denial by Bob Woodward. Examines the Bush administration and the lies it told to the public, in the run up and the aftermath of the invasion of Iraq.
  15. Dispatches on Channel 4, 8pm tonight should be good. It is on Coca Cola and all the corruption and poor conditions it's employee's suffer in Columbia and India. Mark Thomas is doing the investigation as well. Grand.
  16. Is it just me or has the quality of Panorama gone down hill? It used to be 50 minutes of award winning investigative journalism, generally on global issues and there impact on the UK. Now it appears to be half an hour of domestic pap. Dispatches pisses on Panorama now.
  17. Maybe they have popped in for a bit of pre-match cardiovascular, just to get the blood pumping before the game.
  18. I heard it was going to be windy up your neck of the woods.
  19. Good decision to quit GMTV. That is for morons. For real news go to the beeb.
  20. BBC, are reporting that she might be in India.
  21. It's nice of Renault to give 10% of sales of the new Renault McCann to the appeal. It's so comfortable you forget your kids are in the back. ***Boom, tish**** I'll get my coat.
